ਲਿਂਗਾਸ਼੍ਟਕਮ੍

ਬ੍ਰਹ੍ਮਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਸੁਰਾਰ੍ਚਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਨਿਰ੍ਮਲਭਾਸਿਤ ਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਜਨ੍ਮਜ ਦੁਃਖ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਕ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 1 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is adored by Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and the Gods, which is pure, shining, and well-adorned,
And which destroys the sorrows associated with birth (and human life). I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਦੇਵਮੁਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਵਰਾਰ੍ਚਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਕਾਮਦਹਨ ਕਰੁਣਾਕਰ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਰਾਵਣ ਦਰ੍ਪ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਨ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 2 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is worshipped by the Gods and the best of Sages, which burns all desires, which is compassionate,
And which destroyed the pride of even Ravana. I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਸਰ੍ਵ ਸੁਗਂਧ ਸੁਲੇਪਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਬੁਦ੍ਧਿ ਵਿਵਰ੍ਧਨ ਕਾਰਣ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਸਿਦ੍ਧ ਸੁਰਾਸੁਰ ਵਂਦਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 3 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is beautifully smeared with various fragrant pastes, which is the cause behind the elevation of a person's (spiritual) intelligence and discernment,
And which is praised by the Siddhas, Devas and the Asuras. I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਕਨਕ ਮਹਾਮਣਿ ਭੂਸ਼ਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਫਣਿਪਤਿ ਵੇਸ਼੍ਟਿਤ ਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਦਕ੍ਸ਼ਸੁਯਜ੍ਞ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਨ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 4 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is decorated with Gold and other precious gems, which is adorned with the best of the serpents wrapped around it,
And which destroyed the grand yajna (sacrifice) of Daksha. I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਕੁਂਕੁਮ ਚਂਦਨ ਲੇਪਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਪਂਕਜ ਹਾਰ ਸੁਸ਼ੋਭਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਸਂਚਿਤ ਪਾਪ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਨ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 5 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is anointed with Kumkuma (Saffron) and Chandana (Sandal paste), which is beautifully decorated with garlands of Lotuses,
And which destroys the accumulated sins (of several lives). I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਦੇਵਗਣਾਰ੍ਚਿਤ ਸੇਵਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਭਾਵੈ-ਰ੍ਭਕ੍ਤਿਭਿਰੇਵ ਚ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਦਿਨਕਰ ਕੋਟਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਕਰ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 6 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is worshipped and served by the group of Devas (Gods) with true Bhava (emotion or contemplation) and Bhakti (devotion),
And which has the splendor of a million suns. I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਅਸ਼੍ਟਦਲ਼ੋਪਰਿਵੇਸ਼੍ਟਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਸਰ੍ਵਸਮੁਦ੍ਭਵ ਕਾਰਣ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਅਸ਼੍ਟਦਰਿਦ੍ਰ ਵਿਨਾਸ਼ਨ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 7 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is surrounded by eight-petalled flowers, which is the cause behind all creation,
And which destroys the eight poverties. I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਸੁਰਗੁਰੁ ਸੁਰਵਰ ਪੂਜਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਸੁਰਵਨ ਪੁਸ਼੍ਪ ਸਦਾਰ੍ਚਿਤ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ।
ਪਰਾਤ੍ਪਰਂ (ਪਰਮਪਦਂ) ਪਰਮਾਤ੍ਮਕ ਲਿਂਗਂ
ਤਤ੍ਪ੍ਰਣਮਾਮਿ ਸਦਾਸ਼ਿਵ ਲਿਂਗਮ੍ ॥ 8 ॥

(I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam) Which is worshipped by the Preceptor of Gods (Lord Brihaspati) and the Best of the Gods, which is always worshipped by the flowers from the celestial garden,
Which is superior to even the best and which is the greatest. I salute that eternal Shiva Lingam.

ਲਿਂਗਾਸ਼੍ਟਕਮਿਦਂ ਪੁਣ੍ਯਂ ਯਃ ਪਠੇਸ਼੍ਸ਼ਿਵ ਸਨ੍ਨਿਧੌ ।
ਸ਼ਿਵਲੋਕਮਵਾਪ੍ਨੋਤਿ ਸ਼ਿਵੇਨ ਸਹ ਮੋਦਤੇ ॥

Whoever recites this Lingasthakam near Shiva Lingam,
Will, in the end, attain the abode of Lord Shiva and enjoy his bliss.
