ನೀತಸ್ಸುಗ್ರೀವಮೈತ್ರೀಂ ತದನು ಹನುಮತಾ ದುನ್ದುಭೇಃ ಕಾಯಮುಚ್ಚೈಃ
ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ್ವಾಙ್ಗುಷ್ಠೇನ ಭೂಯೋ ಲುಲುವಿಥ ಯುಗಪತ್ ಪತ್ರಿಣಾ ಸಪ್ತ ಸಾಲಾನ್ ।
ಹತ್ವಾ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಘಾತೋದ್ಯತಮತುಲಬಲಂ ಬಾಲಿನಂ ವ್ಯಾಜವೃತ್ತ್ಯಾ
ವರ್ಷಾವೇಲಾಮನೈಷೀರ್ವಿರಹತರಲಿತಸ್ತ್ವಂ ಮತಙ್ಗಾಶ್ರಮಾನ್ತೇ ॥1॥

Meaning
ನೀತಃ-ಸುಗ್ರೀವ-ಮೈತ್ರೀಂ - having taken alliance with Sugreeva; ತತ್-ಅನು ಹನುಮತಾ - after that by Hanumaan; ದುನ್ದುಭೇಃ ಕಾಯಮ್- - the corpse of Asura Dundubhi; ಉಚ್ಚೈಃ ಕ್ಷಿಪ್ತ್ವಾ-ಅಙ್ಗುಷ್ಠೇನ - having flung far away with Thy toe; ಭೂಯಃ ಲುಲುವಿಥ ಯುಗಪತ್ - then (Thou) cut asunder; ಪತ್ರಿಣಾ ಸಪ್ತ ಸಾಲಾನ್ - by a single arrow seven Saala trees; ಹತ್ವಾ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ-ಘಾತ-ಉದ್ಯತಮ್- - killed (the) eager to kill Sugreeva; ಅತುಲ-ಬಲಂ ಬಾಲಿನಂ - Baali who had incomparable strength; ವ್ಯಾಜವೃತ್ಯಾ - by using a strategy; ವರ್ಷಾ-ವೇಲಾಮ್-ಅನೈಷೀಃ- - (Thou) spent the rainy season; ವಿರಹ-ತರಲಿತಃ-ತ್ವಂ - tormented by the pangs of separation (from Seeta); ಮತಙ್ಗ-ಆಶ್ರಮ-ಅನ್ತೇ - near the Aashram of sage Matanga;

Translation
Having taken alliance with Sugreeva which was brought about by Hanumaan, Thou flung far away the corpse of the Asura Dundubhi with Thy toe and also cut through seven Saala trees by a single arrow simultaneously, to demonstrate Thy strength to Sugreeva. Baali who was incomparable in strength and was eager to kill Sugreeva was killed by Thee by using a strategy. Thou then spent the rainy season tormented by the pangs of separation from Seetaa, near the hermitage of sage Matanga.

ಸುಗ್ರೀವೇಣಾನುಜೋಕ್ತ್ಯಾ ಸಭಯಮಭಿಯತಾ ವ್ಯೂಹಿತಾಂ ವಾಹಿನೀಂ ತಾ-
ಮೃಕ್ಷಾಣಾಂ ವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ದಿಕ್ಷು ದ್ರುತಮಥ ದಯಿತಾಮಾರ್ಗಣಾಯಾವನಮ್ರಾಮ್ ।
ಸನ್ದೇಶಂ ಚಾಙ್ಗುಲೀಯಂ ಪವನಸುತಕರೇ ಪ್ರಾದಿಶೋ ಮೋದಶಾಲೀ
ಮಾರ್ಗೇ ಮಾರ್ಗೇ ಮಮಾರ್ಗೇ ಕಪಿಭಿರಪಿ ತದಾ ತ್ವತ್ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಸಪ್ರಯಾಸೈಃ ॥2॥

Meaning
ಸುಗ್ರೀವೇಣ-ಅನುಜ-ಉಕ್ತ್ಯಾ - by Sugreeva, on Thy younger brother Lakshmanaa's admonitions; ಸಭಯಮ್-ಅಭಿಯತಾ - in fear Thou were approached; ವ್ಯೂಹಿತಾಂ ವಾಹಿನೀಂ ತಾಮ್- - and marshalled that army; ಋಕ್ಷಾಣಾಂ ವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ - of monkeys, seeing; ದಿಕ್ಷು ದ್ರುತಮ್-ಅಥ - in all directions quickly; ದಯಿತಾ-ಮಾರ್ಗಣಾಯ-ಅವನಮ್ರಾಮ್ - to search for Thy wife, before Thee; ಸನ್ದೇಶಂ ಚ-ಅಙ್ಗುಲೀಯಂ - a message and a signet ring; ಪವನಸುತ-ಕರೇ ಪ್ರಾದಿಶಃ - in Hanumaan's hands gave; ಮೋದಶಾಲೀ - Thou who were very delighted; ಮಾರ್ಗೇ ಮಾರ್ಗೇ ಮಮಾರ್ಗೇ - in all directions searched for; ಕಪಿಭಿಃ-ಅಪಿ ತದಾ - by the monkeys, even then; ತ್ವತ್-ಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಸಪ್ರಯಾಸೈಃ - Thy consort, with full effort;

Translation
When Thy younger brother Lakshmana admonished Sugreeva, he in fear approached Thee marshalling an army of monkeys, to search for Thy wife Seeta in all directions. Thou were delighted to see this and gave to Hanumaan who was standing before Thee, a message and a signet ring for Seetaa. The monkeys very diligently started on the mission to search for Thy consort Seeta.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ತ್ವದ್ವಾರ್ತಾಕರ್ಣನೋದ್ಯದ್ಗರುದುರುಜವಸಮ್ಪಾತಿಸಮ್ಪಾತಿವಾಕ್ಯ-
ಪ್ರೋತ್ತೀರ್ಣಾರ್ಣೋಧಿರನ್ತರ್ನಗರಿ ಜನಕಜಾಂ ವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ ದತ್ವಾಙ್ಗುಲೀಯಮ್ ।
ಪ್ರಕ್ಷುದ್ಯೋದ್ಯಾನಮಕ್ಷಕ್ಷಪಣಚಣರಣಃ ಸೋಢಬನ್ಧೋ ದಶಾಸ್ಯಂ
ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಪ್ಲುಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಚ ಲಙ್ಕಾಂ ಝಟಿತಿ ಸ ಹನುಮಾನ್ ಮೌಲಿರತ್ನಂ ದದೌ ತೇ ॥3॥

Meaning
ತ್ವತ್-ವಾರ್ತಾ-ಆಕರ್ಣನ್- - Thy accounts hearing; ಉದ್ಯತ್-ಗರುತ್-ಉರು-ಜವ- - having grown wings with great speed; ಸಮ್ಪಾತಿ-ಸಮ್ಪಾತಿ-ವಾಕ್ಯ- - flies away (Sampaati), (and) by the words of that Sampaati; ಪ್ರೋತೀರ್ಣ-ಅರ್ಣೋಧಿಃ-ಅನ್ತರ್ನಗರಿ - (Hanumaan) jumped across the ocean in the city (of Lankaa); ಜನಕಜಾಂ ವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ - seeing Seetaa; ದತ್ವಾ-ಅಙ್ಗುಲೀಯಮ್ - and giving the ring; ಪ್ರಕ್ಷುದ್ಯ-ಉದ್ಯಾನಮ್- - destroying the garden; ಅಕ್ಷ-ಕ್ಷಪಣ-ಚಣ-ರಣಃ - and killing Aksha in the famous battle; ಸೋಢ-ಬನ್ಧಃ - put up with the bondage (of Brahmaastra); ದಶ-ಆಸ್ಯಂ ದೃಷ್ಟ್ವಾ - and seeing the ten faced one (Raavana); ಪ್ಲುಷ್ಟ್ವಾ ಚ ಲಙ್ಕಾಮ್ - and burning down Lanka; ಝಟಿತಿ ಸ ಹನುಮಾನ್ - quickly that Hanumaan; ಮೌಲಿರತ್ನಂ ದದೌ ತೇ - gave to Thee the crest jewel (given by Seetaa);

Translation
On hearing Thy account Sampaati had grown fresh wings and flew away. As Sampaati had told him the whereabouts of Seetaa, Hanumaan jumped across the ocean and reached the city of Lankaa. There he saw Seetaa and gave her the ring, destroyed the garden, killed Aksha kumaar in the famous battle, and put up with the Brahmaastra bondage. Then he met the ten faced Raavana and burned down Lankaa. Hanumaan then quickly went to Thee and gave Thee the crest jewel sent by Seetaa.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ತ್ವಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವಾಙ್ಗದಾದಿಪ್ರಬಲಕಪಿಚಮೂಚಕ್ರವಿಕ್ರಾನ್ತಭೂಮೀ-
ಚಕ್ರೋಽಭಿಕ್ರಮ್ಯ ಪಾರೇಜಲಧಿ ನಿಶಿಚರೇನ್ದ್ರಾನುಜಾಶ್ರೀಯಮಾಣಃ ।
ತತ್ಪ್ರೋಕ್ತಾಂ ಶತ್ರುವಾರ್ತಾಂ ರಹಸಿ ನಿಶಮಯನ್ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಪಾರ್ಥ್ಯರೋಷ-
ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತಾಗ್ನೇಯಾಸ್ತ್ರತೇಜಸ್ತ್ರಸದುದಧಿಗಿರಾ ಲಬ್ಧವಾನ್ ಮಧ್ಯಮಾರ್ಗಮ್ ॥4॥

Meaning
ತ್ವಂ ಸುಗ್ರೀವ-ಅಙ್ಗದ-ಆದಿ- - Thou, Sugreeva, Angada and other; ಪ್ರಬಲ-ಕಪಿ-ಚಮೂ- - warriors of the monkey army; ಚಕ್ರ-ವಿಕ್ರಾನ್ತ-ಭೂಮೀ- - who conquered the earth; ಚಕ್ರಃ-ಅಭಿಕ್ರಮ್ಯ - set out to cross; ಪಾರೇ-ಜಲಧಿ - to the other side of the ocean; ನಿಶಿಚರೇನ್ದ್ರ-ಅನುಜ- - by the younger brother of the Asura king; ಆಶ್ರೀಯಮಾಣಃ - who sought refuge in Thee; ತತ್-ಪ್ರೋಕ್ತಾಂ ಶತ್ರು-ವಾರ್ತಾಂ - as told by him, the information of the enemy; ರಹಸಿ ನಿಶಮಯನ್ - hearing in secret; ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾ-ಆಪಾರ್ಥ್ಯ- - (when) the requests were in vain; ರೋಷ-ಪ್ರಾಸ್ತ-ಆಗ್ನೇಯ-ಅಸ್ತ್ರ- - in anger Thou sent the fire missile; ತೇಜಃ-ತ್ರಸತ್-ಉದಧಿ-ಗಿರಾ - in fright of its power, by the words of the ocean; ಲಬ್ಧವಾನ್ ಮಧ್ಯಮಾರ್ಗಂ - Thou got a way through (the ocean);

Translation
Thou set out with a huge army of monkeys led by great warriors Sugreeva, Angad and others and conquering the whole earth reached the shore of the ocean. Raavana's younger brother Vibheeshana, crossed over to Thy side, and taking refuge in Thee, disclosed the secrets of the enemy which Thou heard in secret. When the requests made to the ocean deity were in vain, in anger Thou sent the fire missile to annihilate the waters of the ocean. Frightened by the power of the missile, as ordered by the ocean deity, Thou got a way through the ocean.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಕೀಶೈರಾಶಾನ್ತರೋಪಾಹೃತಗಿರಿನಿಕರೈಃ ಸೇತುಮಾಧಾಪ್ಯ ಯಾತೋ
ಯಾತೂನ್ಯಾಮರ್ದ್ಯ ದಂಷ್ಟ್ರಾನಖಶಿಖರಿಶಿಲಾಸಾಲಶಸ್ತ್ರೈಃ ಸ್ವಸೈನ್ಯೈಃ ।
ವ್ಯಾಕುರ್ವನ್ ಸಾನುಜಸ್ತ್ವಂ ಸಮರಭುವಿ ಪರಂ ವಿಕ್ರಮಂ ಶಕ್ರಜೇತ್ರಾ
ವೇಗಾನ್ನಾಗಾಸ್ತ್ರಬದ್ಧಃ ಪತಗಪತಿಗರುನ್ಮಾರುತೈರ್ಮೋಚಿತೋಽಭೂಃ ॥5॥

Meaning
ಕೀಶೈಃ-ಆಶಾನ್ತರ- - by the monkeys from all the directions; ಉಪಾಹೃತ-ಗಿರಿನಿಕರೈಃ - brought groups of mountains; ಸೇತುಮ್-ಆಧಾಪ್ಯ - a bridge getting built; ಯಾತಃ ಯಾತೂನಿ-ಆಮರ್ದ್ಯ - went (to Lanka), destroyed the Raakshasas; ದಂಷ್ಟ್ರಾ-ನಖ-ಶಿಖರಿ-ಶಿಲಾ-ಸಾಲ-ಶಸ್ತ್ರೈಃ - teeth, nails, mountains, rocks and trees having as weapons; ಸ್ವಸೈನ್ಯೈಃ ವ್ಯಾಕುರ್ವನ್ - with Thy armies displaying; ಸಾನುಜಃ-ತ್ವಂ ಸಮರ-ಭುವಿ - with Thy brother in the battle field; ಪರಂ ವಿಕ್ರಮಂ - terrific prowess; ಶಕ್ರಜೇತ್ರಾ ವೇಗಾತ್-ನಾಗಾಸ್ತ್ರ-ಬದ್ಧಃ - by Indrajit soon tied down by Naagaastra; ಪತಗಪತಿ- - by Garuda's; ಗರುತ್-ಮಾರುತೈಃ- - force of wind of his wings; ಮೋಚಿತಃ-ಅಭೂಃ - were (soon) released;

Translation
The monkeys from all the quarters brought mountains and rocks by which Thou got a bridge built across Lanka.Crossing over Thy army of monkeys attacked the Raakshasas with teeth claws mountains rocks and palm trees as weapons. With Thy brother displaying terrific power in the battle field, Raavana's son Indrajit soon tied down Thy troops with Naagaastra. Garuda, Thy vehicle soon released them from that state by fanning them with his wings.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿಸ್ತ್ವತ್ರ ಶಕ್ತಿಪ್ರಹೃತಿಗಲದಸುರ್ವಾತಜಾನೀತಶೈಲ-
ಘ್ರಾಣಾತ್ ಪ್ರಾಣಾನುಪೇತೋ ವ್ಯಕೃಣುತ ಕುಸೃತಿಶ್ಲಾಘಿನಂ ಮೇಘನಾದಮ್ ।
ಮಾಯಾಕ್ಷೋಭೇಷು ವೈಭೀಷಣವಚನಹೃತಸ್ತಮ್ಭನಃ ಕುಮ್ಭಕರ್ಣಂ
ಸಮ್ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಂ ಕಮ್ಪಿತೋರ್ವೀತಲಮಖಿಲಚಮೂಭಕ್ಷಿಣಂ ವ್ಯಕ್ಷಿಣೋಸ್ತ್ವಮ್ ॥6॥

Meaning
ಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿಃ-ತು-ಅತ್ರ - Lakshmana, there indeed; ಶಕ್ತಿ-ಪ್ರಹೃತಿ- - by the missile 'Shakti' being struck; ಗಲತ್-ಅಸುಃ- - was slipping off life; ವಾತಜ-ಆನೀತ- - brought by Hanumaan; ಶೈಲ-ಘ್ರಾಣಾತ್ - the mountain (on which the herb grew) by smelling; ಪ್ರಾಣಾನ್-ಉಪೇತಃ ವ್ಯಕೃಣುತ - got his life back and killed; ಕುಸೃತಿಃ-ಲಾಘಿನಂ ಮೇಘನಾದಮ್ - the master of magical arts - Indrajit; ಮಾಯಾ-ಕ್ಷೋಭೇಷು - disturbed by the magical powers of Raavana; ವೈಭೀಷಣ-ವಚನ-ಹೃತ-ಸ್ತಮ್ಭನಃ - Thou were relieved from the stunning effect by Vibheeshana's words; ಕುಮ್ಭಕರ್ಣಂ ಸಮ್ಪ್ರಾಪ್ತಂ - Kumbhakarna, who had come; ಕಮ್ಪಿತ-ಉರ್ವೀತಲಮ್- - making the earth tremble; ಅಖಿಲ-ಚಮೂ-ಭಕ್ಷಿಣಂ - eating the whole army; ವ್ಯಕ್ಷಿಣೋಃ-ತ್ವಮ್ - Thou killed;

Translation
The missile 'Shakti' sent by Raavana, struck Lakshmana who was slipping off life. He was revived by smelling the herb which grew on the mountain which was then brought by Hanumaan. After that Lakshmana killed the master of the magical arts Indrajit. Thou were disturbed by the magical powers of Raavana and were relieved from its stunning effects by Vibheeshana's words. Kumbhkarna who came to join the battle, made the earth tremble and was devouring the army of monkeys, was then killed by Thee.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಗೃಹ್ಣನ್ ಜಮ್ಭಾರಿಸಮ್ಪ್ರೇಷಿತರಥಕವಚೌ ರಾವಣೇನಾಭಿಯುದ್ಧ್ಯನ್
ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಾಸ್ತ್ರೇಣಾಸ್ಯ ಭಿನ್ದನ್ ಗಲತತಿಮಬಲಾಮಗ್ನಿಶುದ್ಧಾಂ ಪ್ರಗೃಹ್ಣನ್ ।
ದೇವಶ್ರೇಣೀವರೋಜ್ಜೀವಿತಸಮರಮೃತೈರಕ್ಷತೈಃ ಋಕ್ಷಸಙ್ಘೈ-
ರ್ಲಙ್ಕಾಭರ್ತ್ರಾ ಚ ಸಾಕಂ ನಿಜನಗರಮಗಾಃ ಸಪ್ರಿಯಃ ಪುಷ್ಪಕೇಣ ॥7॥

Meaning
ಗೃಹ್ಣನ್ - accepting; ಜಮ್ಭಾರಿ-ಸಮ್ಪ್ರೇಷಿತ-ರಥ-ಕವಚೌ - the chariot and armour sent by Indra; ರಾವಣೇನ-ಅಭಿಯುದ್ಧ್ಯನ್ - fighting with Raavan; ಬ್ರಹ್ಮ-ಅಸ್ತ್ರೇಣ- - by the Brahmaastra; ಅಸ್ಯ ಭಿನ್ದನ್-ಗಲತತಿಮ್- - his row of heads cutting off; ಅಬಲಾಮ್-ಅಗ್ನಿಶುದ್ಧಾಂ ಪ್ರಗೃಹ್ಣನ್ - Seetaa purified by fire accepting; ದೇವ-ಶ್ರೇಣೀವರ- - by the Devas of high order; ಉಜ್ಜೀವಿತ-ಸಮರ-ಮೃತೈಃ- - brought back to life who were killed in the battle; ಅಕ್ಷತೈಃ ಋಕ್ಷಸಙ್ಘೈಃ- - who did not have any wounds, the host of monkeys; ಲಙ್ಕಾ-ಭರ್ತ್ರಾ ಚ ಸಾಕಂ - and along with the king of Lanka (Vibheeshana); ನಿಜ-ನಗರಮ್-ಅಗಾಃ - to Thy own city returned; ಸಪ್ರಿಯಃ ಪುಷ್ಪಕೇಣ - with Seetaa in the (chariot) Pushpaka;

Translation
Accepting the chariot and the armour sent by Indra, Thou fought with Raavana and cut off his row of heads by the Brahmaastra, and accepted Seetaa after she was purified by fire. The Devas of high order healed and revived the host of monkeys who were wounded and killed in the battle. Then along with the king of Lanka, Vibheeshana, and Thy consort Seetaa, Thou returned to Thy own city of Ayodhyaa in the chariot Pushpaka.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಪ್ರೀತೋ ದಿವ್ಯಾಭಿಷೇಕೈರಯುತಸಮಧಿಕಾನ್ ವತ್ಸರಾನ್ ಪರ್ಯರಂಸೀ-
ರ್ಮೈಥಿಲ್ಯಾಂ ಪಾಪವಾಚಾ ಶಿವ! ಶಿವ! ಕಿಲ ತಾಂ ಗರ್ಭಿಣೀಮಭ್ಯಹಾಸೀಃ ।
ಶತ್ರುಘ್ನೇನಾರ್ದಯಿತ್ವಾ ಲವಣನಿಶಿಚರಂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ದಯಃ ಶೂದ್ರಪಾಶಂ
ತಾವದ್ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿಗೇಹೇ ಕೃತವಸತಿರುಪಾಸೂತ ಸೀತಾ ಸುತೌ ತೇ ॥8॥

Meaning
ಪ್ರೀತಃ ದಿವ್ಯ-ಅಭಿಷೇಕೈಃ- - pleased with the coronation done with holy waters; ಅಯುತ-ಸಮ-ಅಧಿಕಾನ್ ವತ್ಸರಾನ್ - for more than ten thousand years; ಪರ್ಯರಂಸೀ - ruled happily; ಮೈಥಿಲ್ಯಾಂ ಪಾಪ-ವಾಚಾ - (pertaining) to Seetaa, because of the slander; ಶಿವ! ಶಿವ! ಕಿಲ - what a pity, indeed; ತಾಂ ಗರ್ಭಿಣೀಮ್-ಅಭ್ಯಹಾಸೀಃ - her, who was pregnant, abandoned; ಶತ್ರುಘ್ನೇನ-ಅರ್ದಯಿತ್ವಾ - by Shatrughna was killed; ಲವಣ-ನಿಶಿಚರಂ - Lavanaasura; ಪ್ರಾರ್ದಯಃ ಶೂದ್ರಪಾಶಂ - (then Thou) killed the shudra ascetic; ತಾವತ್-ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕಿ-ಗೇಹೇ - after that in Vaalmiki's Aashrama; ಕೃತವಸತಿಃ-ಉಪಾಸೂತ ಸೀತಾ - who was living, Seetaa gave birth to; ಸುತೌ ತೇ - Thy two sons;

Translation
Thou were pleased to be coronated with the holy waters and ruled happily for more than ten thousand years. Reacting to a scandalous gossip about Seetaa, Thou abandoned her in spite of her being pregnant. O what a pity. The Asura Lavanaasura was killed by Shatrughna and Thou killed the shudra ascetic. Thereafter, Seetaa who was living in Vaalmiki's aashrama gave birth to Thy two sons.

ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೇಸ್ತ್ವತ್ಸುತೋದ್ಗಾಪಿತಮಧುರಕೃತೇರಾಜ್ಞಯಾ ಯಜ್ಞವಾಟೇ
ಸೀತಾಂ ತ್ವಯ್ಯಾಪ್ತುಕಾಮೇ ಕ್ಷಿತಿಮವಿಶದಸೌ ತ್ವಂ ಚ ಕಾಲಾರ್ಥಿತೋಽಭೂಃ ।
ಹೇತೋಃ ಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿಘಾತೀ ಸ್ವಯಮಥ ಸರಯೂಮಗ್ನನಿಶ್ಶೇಷಭೃತ್ಯೈಃ
ಸಾಕಂ ನಾಕಂ ಪ್ರಯಾತೋ ನಿಜಪದಮಗಮೋ ದೇವ ವೈಕುಣ್ಠಮಾದ್ಯಮ್ ॥9॥

Meaning
ವಾಲ್ಮೀಕೇಃ- - Vaalmeeki; ತ್ವತ್-ಸುತ-ಉದ್ಗಾಪಿತ- - then made Thy sons to sing; ಮಧುರ-ಕೃತೇಃ-ಆಜ್ಞಯಾ - the beautiful composition, by his order; ಯಜ್ಞವಾಟೇ - in the premises of the Yagya; ಸೀತಾಂ ತ್ವಯಿ-ಆಪ್ತುಕಾಮೇ - Thou were desirous to take back Seetaa; ಕ್ಷಿತಿಮ್-ಅವಿಶತ್-ಅಸೌ - she disappeared into the Earth; ತ್ವಂ ಚ ಕಾಲ-ಅರ್ಥಿತಃ-ಅಭೂಃ - and Thou were requested by Kaala Yama; ಹೇತೋಃ ಸೌಮಿತ್ರಿ-ಘಾತೀ - for that reason Thou abandoned Lakshmana; ಸ್ವಯಮ್-ಅಥ ಸರಯೂ-ಮಗ್ನ- - then Thou submerged in Saryu river; ನಿಶ್ಶೇಷ-ಭೃತ್ಯೈಃ ಸಾಕಂ - along with all the attendants; ನಾಕಂ ಪ್ರಯಾತಃ - going to Swarga; ನಿಜ-ಪದಮ್-ಅಗಮಃ - reached Thy abode; ದೇವ ವೈಕುಣ್ಠಮ್-ಆದ್ಯಮ್ - O Lord! The eternal Vaikuntha;

Translation
In the premises of the Yanjya by Vaalmeeki's order Thy sons sang the beautiful composition which was composed by him. Hearing it Raama was desirous of taking back Seetaa, but she disappeared into her mother Earth. At the request of the Kaala Yama to return to Thy abode Vaikunth, Thou first created reason to abandon Lakshmana and then Thou submerged in the river Saryu along with all Thy attendants. Then going to Swarga Thou reached Thy abode the eternal Vaikuntha.

ಸೋಽಯಂ ಮರ್ತ್ಯಾವತಾರಸ್ತವ ಖಲು ನಿಯತಂ ಮರ್ತ್ಯಶಿಕ್ಷಾರ್ಥಮೇವಂ
ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷಾರ್ತಿರ್ನಿರಾಗಸ್ತ್ಯಜನಮಪಿ ಭವೇತ್ ಕಾಮಧರ್ಮಾತಿಸಕ್ತ್ಯಾ ।
ನೋ ಚೇತ್ ಸ್ವಾತ್ಮಾನುಭೂತೇಃ ಕ್ವ ನು ತವ ಮನಸೋ ವಿಕ್ರಿಯಾ ಚಕ್ರಪಾಣೇ
ಸ ತ್ವಂ ಸತ್ತ್ವೈಕಮೂರ್ತೇ ಪವನಪುರಪತೇ ವ್ಯಾಧುನು ವ್ಯಾಧಿತಾಪಾನ್ ॥10॥

Meaning
ಸಃ-ಅಯಂ ಮರ್ತ್ಯ-ಅವತಾರಃ-ತವ - that this human embodiment of Thine; ಖಲು ನಿಯತಂ - indeed happened; ಮರ್ತ್ಯ-ಶಿಕ್ಷಾ-ಅರ್ಥಮ್-ಏವಂ - for mankind as a lesson only; ವಿಶ್ಲೇಷ-ಆರ್ತಿಃ- - pangs of separation; ನಿರಾಗಃ-ತ್ಯಜನಮ್-ಅಪಿ - (and) also abandoning of the innocent; ಭವೇತ್ - happen; ಕಾಮ-ಧರ್ಮ-ಅತಿಸಕ್ತ್ಯಾ - due to extreme addiction to attachment and Dharma (duty); ನೋ ಚೇತ್ - otherwise; ಸ್ವ-ಆತ್ಮ-ಅನುಭೂತೇಃ - (for Thee) who are established in self consciousness; ಕ್ವ ನು ತವ ಮನಸಃ ವಿಕ್ರಿಯಾ - how come Thy weakness of mind; ಚಕ್ರಪಾಣೇ - O Wielder of the Discuss!; ಸ ತ್ವಂ ಸತ್ವ-ಏಕ-ಮೂರ್ತೇ - That Thou, the very embodiment of the Satvaguna; ಪವನಪುರಪತೇ - The Lord of Guruvaayur; ವ್ಯಾಧುನು ವ್ಯಾಧಿ-ತಾಪಾನ್ - eradicate (my) sufferings from the disease;

Translation
As a lesson to the mankind this human embodiment of Thee happened. Pangs of separation are caused by extreme attachment, as also extreme addiction to Dharma may lead to the abandoning of the innocent. Otherwise for Thee who are established in self consciousness how can such a weakness of mind be explained. O Wielder of the Discuss! Thou That very embodiment of the Satva guna! O The Lord of Guruvayur! eradicate my sufferings from the disease.
