ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ನಿಶಮಯ್ಯ ತವಾಥ ಯಾನವಾರ್ತಾಂ ಭೃಶಮಾರ್ತಾಃ ಪಶುಪಾಲಬಾಲಿಕಾಸ್ತಾಃ ।
ಕಿಮಿದಂ ಕಿಮಿದಂ ಕಥಂ ನ್ವಿತೀಮಾಃ ಸಮವೇತಾಃ ಪರಿದೇವಿತಾನ್ಯಕುರ್ವನ್ ॥1॥

Meaning
ನಿಶಮಯ್ಯ - hearing; ತವ-ಅಥ - (of) Thy, then; ಯಾನ-ವಾರ್ತಾಂ - departure news; ಭೃಶಂ-ಆರ್ತಾಃ - very much saddened; ಪಶುಪಾಲ-ಬಾಲಿಕಾಃ-ತಾಃ - the cowherd girls, they; ಕಿಂ-ಇದಂ ಕಿಂ-ಇದಂ - what is this, what is this; ಕಥಂ ನು-ಇತಿ- - how is this, thus; ಇಮಾಃ ಸಮವೇತಾಃ - these (girls) gathered; ಪರಿದೇವಿತಾನಿ- - lamentations; ಅಕುರ್ವನ್ - doing;

Translation
Then hearing the news of Thy impending departure the cowherd girls were very much saddened. They gathered together and lamented saying -'What is this? How and why is this happening?'

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಕರುಣಾನಿಧಿರೇಷ ನಂದಸೂನುಃ ಕಥಮಸ್ಮಾನ್ ವಿಸೃಜೇದನನ್ಯನಾಥಾಃ ।
ಬತ ನಃ ಕಿಮು ದೈವಮೇವಮಾಸೀದಿತಿ ತಾಸ್ತ್ವದ್ಗತಮಾನಸಾ ವಿಲೇಪುಃ ॥2॥

Meaning
ಕರುಣಾ-ನಿಧಿಃ- - the compassion repository; ಏಷ ನಂದ-ಸೂನುಃ - this Nanda's son; ಕಥಂ-ಅಸ್ಮಾನ್- - how come us; ವಿಸೃಜೇತ್-ಅನನ್ಯನಾಥಾಃ - forsake, who do not have any other support; ಬತ ನಃ ಕಿಮು - Alas our what; ದೈವಂ-ಏವಂ-ಆಸೀತ್- - fate of this kind was; ಇತಿ ತಾಃ- - thus they; ತ್ವತ್-ಗತ-ಮಾನಸಾ - in Thee fixed hearted; ವಿಲೇಪುಃ - bemoaned;

Translation
The abode of compassion, Nanda's son, Krishna, how can he forsake us, who have no other support, except him. Alas what kind of fate do we have.' The girls with their hearts fixed on Thee bemoaned.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಚರಮಪ್ರಹರೇ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಮಾನಃ ಸಹ ಪಿತ್ರಾ ನಿಜಮಿತ್ರಮಂಡಲೈಶ್ಚ ।
ಪರಿತಾಪಭರಂ ನಿತಂಬಿನೀನಾಂ ಶಮಯಿಷ್ಯನ್ ವ್ಯಮುಚಃ ಸಖಾಯಮೇಕಮ್ ॥3॥

Meaning
ಚರಮ-ಪ್ರಹರೇ - in the last part (of night); ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಮಾನಃ - leaving; ಸಹ ಪಿತ್ರಾ - with (Thy) father; ನಿಜ-ಮಿತ್ರ-ಮಂಡಲೈಃ-ಚ - and with his friends' groups; ಪರಿತಾಪ-ಭರಂ - of the sorrowful; ನಿತಂಬಿನೀನಾಂ - beauties (Gopikas); ಶಮಯಿಷ್ಯನ್ - to assuage; ವ್ಯಮುಚಃ - sent; ಸಖಾಯಂ-ಏಕಂ - one friend;

Translation
Thou were to leave with Thy father and a group of his friends in the last lap of the night. Thou sent one of Thy companions to the beautiful Gopikas who were very sorrowful, to assuage their grief.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಅಚಿರಾದುಪಯಾಮಿ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಂ ವೋ ಭವಿತಾ ಸಾಧು ಮಯೈವ ಸಂಗಮಶ್ರೀಃ ।
ಅಮೃತಾಂಬುನಿಧೌ ನಿಮಜ್ಜಯಿಷ್ಯೇ ದ್ರುತಮಿತ್ಯಾಶ್ವಸಿತಾ ವಧೂರಕಾರ್ಷೀಃ ॥4॥

Meaning
ಅಚಿರಾತ್-ಉಪಯಾಮಿ - very soon (I) will come back; ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಂ ವಃ - near you all; ಭವಿತಾ ಸಾಧು - (and) will be good (many); ಮಯಾ-ಏವ - with me only; ಸಂಗಮ-ಶ್ರೀಃ - meetings happy; ಅಮೃತ-ಅಂಬುನಿಧೌ - in the nectar ocean; ನಿಮಜ್ಜಯಿಷ್ಯೇ - I shall immerse you; ದ್ರುತಂ-ಇತಿ-ಆಶ್ವಾಸಿತಾಃ - soon, thus consolations; ವಧೂಃ-ಅಕಾರ್ಷೀಃ - to the girls did give;

Translation
I shall come back near you very soon. You will have many good and happy meetings with me. I will soon immerse you in the nectar of bliss ocean.' Thus Thou gave consolations to the girls.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಸವಿಷಾದಭರಂ ಸಯಾಚ್ಞಮುಚ್ಚೈಃ ಅತಿದೂರಂ ವನಿತಾಭಿರೀಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಣಃ ।
ಮೃದು ತದ್ದಿಶಿ ಪಾತಯನ್ನಪಾಂಗಾನ್ ಸಬಲೋಽಕ್ರೂರರಥೇನ ನಿರ್ಗತೋಽಭೂಃ ॥5॥

Meaning
ಸವಿಷಾದಭರಂ - with great sorrow; ಸಯಾಚ್ಞಂ- - begging; ಉಚ್ಚೈಃ-ಅತಿದೂರಂ - loudly till far; ವನಿತಾಭಿಃ- - by the women's; ಈಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಣಃ - following glances; ಮೃದು ತತ್-ದಿಶಿ - gently in that direction; ಪಾತಯನ್- - casting; ಅಪಾಂಗಾನ್ - sidelong glances; ಸಬಲಃ- - with Balaraama; ಅಕ್ರೂರ-ರಥೇನ - in Akrura's chariot; ನಿರ್ಗತಃ-ಅಭೂಃ - departed;

Translation
The women followed Thee till far loudly and piteously begging and gazing with entreating eyes. Thou cast soft sidelong glances in that direction and departed with Balaraama in Akrura's chariot.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಅನಸಾ ಬಹುಲೇನ ವಲ್ಲವಾನಾಂ ಮನಸಾ ಚಾನುಗತೋಽಥ ವಲ್ಲಭಾನಾಮ್ ।
ವನಮಾರ್ತಮೃಗಂ ವಿಷಣ್ಣವೃಕ್ಷಂ ಸಮತೀತೋ ಯಮುನಾತಟೀಮಯಾಸೀಃ ॥6॥

Meaning
ಅನಸಾ ಬಹುಲೇನ - by carts many; ವಲ್ಲವಾನಾಂ ಮನಸಾ - (and) by the Gopikaa's minds; ಚ-ಅನುಗತಃ-ಅಥ - being followed then; ವಲ್ಲಭಾನಾಂ - by the Gopas; ವನಂ-ಆರ್ತಮೃಗಂ - the forests with the sorrowful animals; ವಿಷಣ್ಣ-ವೃಕ್ಷಂ - and the sad trees; ಸಮತೀತಃ - crossed; ಯಮುನಾ-ತಟೀಂ- - and the banks of Yamunaa; ಅಯಾಸೀಃ - reached;

Translation
Many carts with Gopas followed Thee as also the minds and thoughts of the Gopikas. Thou crossed the forest with sorrowful animals and sad trees and reached the banks of the Yamunaa river.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ನಿಯಮಾಯ ನಿಮಜ್ಯ ವಾರಿಣಿ ತ್ವಾಮಭಿವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಥ ರಥೇಽಪಿ ಗಾಂದಿನೇಯಃ ।
ವಿವಶೋಽಜನಿ ಕಿಂ ನ್ವಿದಂ ವಿಭೋಸ್ತೇ ನನು ಚಿತ್ರಂ ತ್ವವಲೋಕನಂ ಸಮಂತಾತ್ ॥7॥

Meaning
ನಿಯಮಾಯ ನಿಮಜ್ಯ - for (the daily) duties bathing; ವಾರಿಣಿ ತ್ವಾಂ - in the waters (of Jamunaa), Thee; ಅಭಿವೀಕ್ಷ್ಯ-ಅಥ - seeing then; ರಥೇ-ಅಪಿ - on the chariot also; ಗಾಂದಿನೇಯಃ - Gaandinee (Akrura); ವಿವಶಃ-ಅಜನಿ - helpless became; ಕಿಂ ನು-ಇದಂ - what indeed is this; ವಿಭೋಃ-ತೇ - O Lord Thy; ನನು ಚಿತ್ರಂ ತು- - indeed wonder but; ಅವಲೋಕನಂ - being seen; ಸಮಂತಾತ್ - from everywhere;

Translation
Akrura, the son of Gaandini was bathing in the waters of the river to perform his daily duties. He saw Thee in the water and also saw Thee on the chariot. He was overwhelmed with wonder and became helpless as to what it all was. But is there any wonder in Thy being seen from everywhere as Thou are omnipresent!

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಪುನರೇಷ ನಿಮಜ್ಯ ಪುಣ್ಯಶಾಲೀ ಪುರುಷಂ ತ್ವಾಂ ಪರಮಂ ಭುಜಂಗಭೋಗೇ ।
ಅರಿಕಂಬುಗದಾಂಬುಜೈಃ ಸ್ಫುರಂತಂ ಸುರಸಿದ್ಧೌಘಪರೀತಮಾಲುಲೋಕೇ ॥8॥

Meaning
ಪುನಃ-ಏಷ - again this (Akrura); ನಿಮಜ್ಯ - dipping (in the waters); ಪುಣ್ಯಶಾಲೀ - (this) meritorious one,; ಪುರುಷಂ ತ್ವಾಂ ಪರಮಂ - Being Thee Supreme,; ಭುಜಂಗ-ಭೋಗೇ - on the serpent's body; ಅರಿ-ಕಂಬು-ಗದಾ-ಅಂಬುಜೈಃ - with the discus, conch, mace and lotus; ಸ್ಫುರಂತಂ - resplendent; ಸುರ-ಸಿದ್ಧ-ಔಘ-ಪರೀತಂ - by gods and siddhaas' groups surrounded; ಆಲುಲೋಕೇ - (he) saw;

Translation
Akrura again took a dip in the water. The meritorious and fortunate man that he was, he saw Thee The Supreme Being reclining on the Shesha serpent's body bed, resplendent and adorned with the discus, conch, mace and lotus. Thou were surrounded by groups of gods and various siddhaas.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಸ ತದಾ ಪರಮಾತ್ಮಸೌಖ್ಯಸಿಂಧೌ ವಿನಿಮಗ್ನಃ ಪ್ರಣುವನ್ ಪ್ರಕಾರಭೇದೈಃ ।
ಅವಿಲೋಕ್ಯ ಪುನಶ್ಚ ಹರ್ಷಸಿಂಧೋರನುವೃತ್ತ್ಯಾ ಪುಲಕಾವೃತೋ ಯಯೌ ತ್ವಾಮ್ ॥9॥

Meaning
ಸ ತದಾ - he then; ಪರಮಾತ್ಮ-ಸೌಖ್ಯ-ಸಿಂಧೌ - in the supreme bliss ocean; ವಿನಿಮಗ್ನಃ ಪ್ರಣುವನ್ - immersed (and) praising; ಪ್ರಕಾರ-ಭೇದೈಃ - in different ways (of Saguna and Nirguna); ಅವಿಲೋಕ್ಯ - not seeing Thee; ಪುನಃ-ಚ - and again; ಹರ್ಷ-ಸಿಂಧೋಃ- - in the bliss ocean; ಅನುವೃತ್ತ್ಯಾ - continuing to be; ಪುಲಕ-ಆವೃತಃ - with horripilation all over; ಯಯೌ ತ್ವಾಂ - went to Thee;

Translation
He was then immersed in the ocean of supreme bliss and sang the praises unto Thy Saguna and Nirguna forms. Even as Thy vision disappeared, he continued to experience the unlimited bliss and with horripilations all over his body, he went to Thee.

ಶ್ಲೋಕಃ
ಕಿಮು ಶೀತಲಿಮಾ ಮಹಾನ್ ಜಲೇ ಯತ್ ಪುಲಕೋಽಸಾವಿತಿ ಚೋದಿತೇನ ತೇನ ।
ಅತಿಹರ್ಷನಿರುತ್ತರೇಣ ಸಾರ್ಧಂ ರಥವಾಸೀ ಪವನೇಶ ಪಾಹಿ ಮಾಂ ತ್ವಮ್ ॥10॥

Meaning
ಕಿಮು ಶೀತಲಿಮಾ - is it cool; ಮಹಾನ್ ಜಲೇ ಯತ್ - very much in the water so that; ಪುಲಕಃ-ಅಸೌ- - horripilation this; ಇತಿ ಚೋದಿತೇನ - thus asked; ತೇನ ಅತಿ-ಹರ್ಷ- - (with) him (because of) extreme bliss; ನಿರುತ್ತರೇಣ - speechless; ಸಾರ್ಧಂ ರಥವಾಸೀ - with (him, Akrura) seated on the chariot; ಪವನೇಶ - O Lord of Guruvaayur; ಪಾಹಿ ಮಾಂ ತ್ವಂ - save me Thou;

Translation
Thou asked him if the water was so cold that he had horripilation on his body, as if not knowing the cause. Akrura was speechless because he was immersed in extreme bliss. Thou sitting with him on the chariot, O Lord of Guruvaayur! Do save me.
