অয়ি দেব পুরা কিল ত্বয়ি স্বযমুত্তানশয়ে স্তনংধয়ে ।
পরিজৃংভণতো ব্যপাবৃতে বদনে বিশ্বমচষ্ট বল্লবী ॥1॥
Meaning
অয়ি দেব - O Lord!; পুরা কিল - long ago indeed; ত্বয়ি স্বযম্- - (when) Thou by Thyself; উত্তানশয়ে - while lying on the back; স্তনংধয়ে - and sucking at the breast (of Yashodaa); পরিজৃংভণতঃ - by yawning; ব্যপাবৃতে বদনে - in Thy open mouth; বিশ্বম্-অচষ্ট - the universe, was seen; বল্লবী - by the cowherdess (Yashodaa);
Translation
O Lord! Once long ago, as Thou were lying flat on the back, in the lap of Yashodaa and sucking at her breast, Thou yawned. As Thou did so, in Thy open mouth, Thou revealed to her the whole universe.
শ্লোকঃ
পুনরপ্যথ বালকৈঃ সমং ত্বয়ি লীলানিরতে জগত্পতে ।
ফলসংচযবংচনক্রুধা তব মৃদ্ভোজনমূচুরর্ভকাঃ ॥2॥
Meaning
পুনঃ-অপি-অথ - again also; বালকৈঃ সমং - with the children; ত্বয়ি লীলা-নিরতে - (when) Thou were engrossed in play; জগত্পতে - O Lord of the Universe!; ফল-সংচয়- - in collecting the fruits; বংচন-ক্রুধা - being cheated and angered (the children); তব মৃদ্-ভোজনম্- - Thy eating of sand; ঊচুঃ-অর্ভকাঃ - reported the children;
Translation
O Lord of the Universe! Again once, as Thou were playing with other children, Thou cheated them in collecting fruits. Angered at this, they reported to Thy mother that Thou had eaten mud.
শ্লোকঃ
অয়ি তে প্রলয়াবধৌ বিভো ক্ষিতিতোয়াদিসমস্তভক্ষিণঃ ।
মৃদুপাশনতো রুজা ভবেদিতি ভীতা জননী চুকোপ সা ॥3॥
Meaning
অয়ি - O (Thou); তে প্রলয়-অবধৌ - Thee at the time of deluge; বিভো - O Lord!; ক্ষিতি-তোয়-আদি- - earth water etc; সমস্ত-ভক্ষিণঃ - everything consuming; মৃদ্-উপাশনতঃ - by eating mud,; রুজা ভবেত্-ইতি - sickness may be, thus; ভীতা জননী - (Thy) frightened mother; চুকোপ সা - she became angry;
Translation
O Lord! At the time of the deluge Thou do consume everything earth water etc. Yet Thy mother was frightened that Thou may fall sick by eating mud and so she became angry.
শ্লোকঃ
অয়ি দুর্বিনয়াত্মক ত্বয়া কিমু মৃত্সা বত বত্স ভক্ষিতা ।
ইতি মাতৃগিরং চিরং বিভো বিতথাং ত্বং প্রতিজজ্ঞিষে হসন্ ॥4॥
Meaning
অয়ি দুর্বিনয়াত্মক - O naughty (one); ত্বয়া কিমু - by you was it; মৃত্সা বত - that mud indeed; বত্স ভক্ষিতা - O son, was eaten; ইতি মাতৃগিরং - such the words of Thy mother; চিরং বিভো - for a long time O Lord; বিতথাং ত্বং - as false, Thee; প্রতিজজ্ঞিষে হসন্ - asserted laughingly;
Translation
O you naughty one! Is it that you have eaten mud O son!' O Lord! These words of Thy mother, for a long time, Thou kept on denying and laughingly asserted that Thou had not done so.
শ্লোকঃ
অয়ি তে সকলৈর্বিনিশ্চিতে বিমতিশ্চেদ্বদনং বিদার্যতাম্ ।
ইতি মাতৃবিভর্ত্সিতো মুখং বিকসত্পদ্মনিভং ব্যদারয়ঃ ॥5॥
Meaning
অয়ি তে - O Boy! Of you; সকলৈঃ-বিনিশ্চিতে - by every one asserted; বিমতিঃ-চেত্- - is, if disagreed; বদনং বিদার্যতাম্ - mouth (please) open; ইতি মাতৃ-বিভর্ত্সিতঃ - thus by mother reprimanded; মুখং বিকসত্-পদ্ম-নিভম্ - the mouth opening, lotus like; ব্যদারয়ঃ - (Thou) opened;
Translation
O Boy! If you deny what all the others are saying, please open your mouth.' Thus reprimanded by Thy mother, Thou opened Thy mouth as a lotus in full bloom.
শ্লোকঃ
অপি মৃল্লবদর্শনোত্সুকাং জননীং তাং বহু তর্পযন্নিব ।
পৃথিবীং নিখিলাং ন কেবলং ভুবনান্যপ্যখিলান্যদীদৃশঃ ॥6॥
Meaning
অপি মৃল্-লব - even a mud trace; দর্শন-উত্সুকাং - eager to see; জননীং তাং - to mother that; বহু তর্পযন্-ইব - very much trying to please as though,; পৃথিবীং নিখিলাং - the earth whole; ন কেবলং - not only; ভুবনান্-অপি- - the other worlds also; অখিলান্-অদীদৃশঃ - entirely showed;
Translation
Thy mother was eager to see just a trace of mud in Thy mouth. As though to please her, and to give her abundant satisfaction Thou showed her in Thy mouth not only this whole earth but the entire universe.

কুহচিদ্বনমংবুধিঃ ক্বচিত্ ক্বচিদভ্রং কুহচিদ্রসাতলম্ ।
মনুজা দনুজাঃ ক্বচিত্ সুরা দদৃশে কিং ন তদা ত্বদাননে ॥7॥
Meaning
কুহচিত্-বনম্- - somewhere the forests; অংবুধিঃ ক্বচিত্ - the oceans somewhere; ক্বচিত্-অভ্রং - somewhere the sky; কুহচিত্-রসাতলম্ - somewhere the Rasaatala; মনুজাঃ দনুজাঃ - human beings, demons; ক্বচিত্ সুরাঃ - somewhere the devas; দদৃশে কিং ন - seen what not was; তদা ত্বত্-আননে - at that time in Thy mouth;
Translation
At that time, in Thy mouth what not was seen by Yashodaa? Somewhere the forests and oceans, somewhere the skies and Rasaatala, human beings and demons, gods and devas!
শ্লোকঃ
কলশাংবুধিশায়িনং পুনঃ পরবৈকুংঠপদাধিবাসিনম্ ।
স্বপুরশ্চ নিজার্ভকাত্মকং কতিধা ত্বাং ন দদর্শ সা মুখে ॥8॥
Meaning
কলশ-অংবুধি-শায়িনং - in the milk ocean, the recliner; পুনঃ পর-বৈকুংঠপদ- - as the Paramaatamaa, in the Vaikuntha abode; অধিবাসিনম্ - the resident; স্ব-পুরঃ-চ - in front of herself; নিজ-অর্ভক-আত্মকং - as her own son; কতিধা - in how many ways; ত্বাং ন দদর্শ - Thee did not see; সা মুখে - she in (Thy) mouth;
Translation
Yashodaa saw in Thy mouth the recliner in the milk ocean. Again she saw Paramaatamaa, the resident of the Vaikunth abode. Then she saw Thee as her son in front of her. In how many different ways did she not see Thee.
শ্লোকঃ
বিকসদ্ভুবনে মুখোদরে ননু ভূয়োঽপি তথাবিধাননঃ ।
অনয়া স্ফুটমীক্ষিতো ভবাননবস্থাং জগতাং বতাতনোত্ ॥9॥
Meaning
বিকসত্-ভুবনে - revealing the worlds; মুখ-উদরে - in the inside of the mouth; ননু ভূয়ঃ-অপি - indeed then again also; তথা-বিধ-আননঃ - that same type of face; অনয়া স্ফুটম্-ঈক্ষিতঃ - by her was clearly seen; ভবান্-অনবস্থাং - Thou as the infinitude; জগতাং - of the universe; বত্-আতনোত্ - definitely expounded;
Translation
In the cavity of Thy mouth she saw all the worlds, where even Thou were present with Thy mouth open, once again, in which again all the worlds were seen; and so on endlessly. This definitely expounded Thou as the infinitude of the universe.

ধৃততত্ত্বধিয়ং তদা ক্ষণং জননীং তাং প্রণয়েন মোহযন্ ।
স্তনমংব দিশেত্য়ুপাসজন্ ভগবন্নদ্ভুতবাল পাহি মাম্ ॥10॥
Meaning
ধৃত-তত্ত্ব-ধিয়ং - holding the reality in the mind; তদা ক্ষণং - at that time for a moment; জননীং তাং - to the mother; প্রণয়েন মোহযন্ - by affection enchanting (deluding); স্তনম্-অংব দিশ- - breast milk O Mother give'; ইতি-উপাসজন্ - thus embracing; ভগবন্- - O Lord!; অদ্ভুত-বাল - O Wonderful Child!; পাহি মাম্ - protect me;
Translation
At that time for a moment, Yashodaa had a flash of illumination. Thou with affection deluded her and clung to her, calling her 'Mother' and demanded to be suckled. O Lord! Thou the Wondrous Child! Deign to protect me.
