ଶ୍ରୀଭଗଵାନୁଵାଚ
ଭୂୟ ଏଵ ମହାବାହୋ ଶଋଣୁ ମେ ପରମଂ ଵଚଃ ।
ୟତ୍ତେଽହଂ ପ୍ରୀୟମାଣାୟ ଵକ୍ଷ୍ୟାମି ହିତକାମ୍ୟୟା ॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
ଶ୍ରୀ-ଭଗଵାନ୍ ଉଵାଚ — Bhagavan Sri Krishna said; ଭୂୟଃ — again; ଏଵ — certainly; ମହା-ବାହୋ — O mighty-armed; ଶୃଣୁ — just hear; ମେ — My; ପରମମ୍ — supreme; ଵଚଃ — instruction; ୟତ୍ — that which; ତେ — to you; ଅହମ୍ — I; ପ୍ରୀୟମାଣାୟ — thinking you dear to Me; ଵକ୍ଷ୍ୟାମି — say; ହିତ-କାମ୍ୟୟା — for your benefit.
Translation
Bhagavan Sri Krishna said: Listen again, O mighty-armed Arjuna. Because you are My dear friend, for your benefit I shall speak to you further, giving knowledge that is better than what I have already explained.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ନ ମେ ଵିଦୁଃ ସୁରଗଣାଃ ପ୍ରଭଵଂ ନ ମହର୍ଷୟଃ ।
ଅହମାଦିର୍ହି ଦେଵାନାଂ ମହର୍ଷୀଣାଂ ଚ ସର୍ଵଶଃ ॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
ନ — never; ମେ — My; ଵିଦୁଃ — know; ସୁର-ଗଣାଃ — the demigods; ପ୍ରଭଵମ୍ — origin, opulences; ନ — never; ମହା-ଋଷୟଃ — great sages; ଅହମ୍ — I am; ଆଦିଃ — the origin; ହି — certainly; ଦେଵାନାମ୍ — of the demigods; ମହା-ଋଷୀଣାମ୍ — of the great sages; ଚ — also; ସର୍ଵଶଃ — in all respects.
Translation
Neither the hosts of demigods nor the great sages know My origin or opulences, for, in every respect, I am the source of the demigods and sages.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ୟୋ ମାମଜମନାଦିଂ ଚ ଵେତ୍ତି ଲୋକମହେଶ୍ଵରମ୍ ।
ଅସମ୍ମୂଢଃ ସ ମର୍ତ୍ୟେଷୁ ସର୍ଵପାପୈଃ ପ୍ରମୁଚ୍ୟତେ ॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
ୟଃ — anyone who; ମାମ୍ — Me; ଅଜମ୍ — unborn; ଅନାଦିମ୍ — without beginning; ଚ — also; ଵେତ୍ତି — knows; ଲୋକ — of the planets; ମହା-ଈଶ୍ଵରମ୍ — the supreme master; ଅସମ୍ମୂଢଃ — undeluded; ସଃ — he; ମର୍ତ୍ୟେଷୁ — among those subject to death; ସର୍ଵ-ପାପୈଃ — from all sinful reactions; ପ୍ରମୁଚ୍ୟତେ — is delivered.
Translation
He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginningless, as the Supreme Lord of all the worlds – he only, undeluded among men, is freed from all sins.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ବୁଦ୍ଧିର୍ଜ୍ଞାନମସମ୍ମୋହଃ କ୍ଷମା ସତ୍ୟଂ ଦମଃ ଶମଃ ।
ସୁଖଂ ଦୁଃଖଂ ଭଵୋଽଭାଵୋ ଭୟଂ ଚାଭୟମେଵ ଚ ॥ 4 ॥
ଅହିଂସା ସମତା ତୁଷ୍ଟିସ୍ତପୋ ଦାନଂ ୟଶୋଽୟଶଃ ।
ଭଵଂତି ଭାଵା ଭୂତାନାଂ ମତ୍ତ ଏଵ ପୃଥଗ୍ଵିଧାଃ ॥ 5 ॥

Translation
Intelligence, knowledge, freedom from doubt and delusion, forgiveness, truthfulness, control of the senses, control of the mind, happiness and distress, birth, death, fear, fearlessness, nonviolence, equanimity, satisfaction, austerity, charity, fame and infamy – all these various qualities of living beings are created by Me alone.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ମହର୍ଷୟଃ ସପ୍ତ ପୂର୍ଵେ ଚତ୍ଵାରୋ ମନଵସ୍ତଥା ।
ମଦ୍ଭଆଵା ମାନସା ଜାତା ୟେଷାଂ ଲୋକ ଇମାଃ ପ୍ରଜାଃ ॥ 6 ॥
Meaning
ମହା-ଋଷୟଃ — the great sages; ସପ୍ତ — seven; ପୂର୍ଵେ — before; ଚତ୍ଵାରଃ — four; ମନଵଃ — Manus; ତଥା — also; ମତ୍-ଭାଵାଃ — born of Me; ମାନସାଃ — from the mind; ଜାତାଃ — born; ୟେଷାମ୍ — of them; ଲୋକେ — in the world; ଇମାଃ — all this; ପ୍ରଜାଃ — population.
Translation
The seven great sages and before them the four other great sages and the Manus [progenitors of mankind] come from Me, born from My mind, and all the living beings populating the various planets descend from them.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଏତାଂ ଵିଭୂତିଂ ୟୋଗଂ ଚ ମମ ୟୋ ଵେତ୍ତି ତତ୍ତ୍ଵତଃ ।
ସୋଽଵିକଲ୍ପେନ ୟୋଗେନ ୟୁଜ୍ୟତେ ନାତ୍ର ସଂଶୟଃ ॥ 7 ॥
Meaning
ଏତାମ୍ — all this; ଵିଭୂତିମ୍ — opulence; ୟୋଗମ୍ — mystic power; ଚ — also; ମମ — of Mine; ୟଃ — anyone who; ଵେତ୍ତି — knows; ତତ୍ତ୍ଵତଃ — factually; ସଃ — he; ଅଵିକଲ୍ପେନ — without division; ୟୋଗେନ — in devotional service; ୟୁଜ୍ୟତେ — is engaged; ନ — never; ଅତ୍ର — here; ସଂଶୟଃ — doubt.
Translation
One who is factually convinced of this opulence and mystic power of Mine engages in unalloyed devotional service; of this there is no doubt.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅହଂ ସର୍ଵସ୍ୟ ପ୍ରଭଵୋ ମତ୍ତଃ ସର୍ଵଂ ପ୍ରଵର୍ତତେ ।
ଇତି ମତ୍ଵା ଭଜଂତେ ମାଂ ବୁଧା ଭାଵସମନ୍ଵିତାଃ ॥ 8 ॥
Meaning
ଅହମ୍ — I; ସର୍ଵସ୍ୟ — of all; ପ୍ରଭଵଃ — the source of generation; ମତ୍ତଃ — from Me; ସର୍ଵମ୍ — everything; ପ୍ରଵର୍ତତେ — emanates; ଇତି — thus; ମତ୍ଵା — knowing; ଭଜଂତେ — become devoted; ମାମ୍ — unto Me; ବୁଧାଃ — the learned; ଭାଵ-ସମନ୍ଵିତାଃ — with great attention.
Translation
I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ମଚ୍ଚିତ୍ତା ମଦ୍ଗତପ୍ରାଣା ବୋଧୟଂତଃ ପରସ୍ପରମ୍ ।
କଥୟଂତଶ୍ଚ ମାଂ ନିତ୍ୟଂ ତୁଷ୍ୟଂତି ଚ ରମଂତି ଚ ॥ 9 ॥
Meaning
ମତ୍-ଚିତ୍ତାଃ — their minds fully engaged in Me; ମତ୍-ଗତ-ପ୍ରାଣାଃ — their lives devoted to Me; ବୋଧୟଂତଃ — preaching; ପରସ୍ପରମ୍ — among themselves; କଥୟଂତଃ — talking; ଚ — also; ମାମ୍ — about Me; ନିତ୍ୟମ୍ — perpetually; ତୁଷ୍ୟଂତି — become pleased; ଚ — also; ରମଂତି — enjoy transcendental bliss; ଚ — also.
Translation
The thoughts of My pure devotees dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to My service, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss from always enlightening one another and conversing about Me.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ତେଷାଂ ସତତୟୁକ୍ତାନାଂ ଭଜତାଂ ପ୍ରୀତିପୂର୍ଵକମ୍ ।
ଦଦାମି ବୁଦ୍ଧିୟୋଗଂ ତଂ ୟେନ ମାମୁପୟାଂତି ତେ ॥ 10 ॥
Meaning
ତେଷାମ୍ — unto them; ସତତ-ୟୁକ୍ତାନାମ୍ — always engaged; ଭଜତାମ୍ — in rendering devotional service; ପ୍ରୀତି-ପୂର୍ଵକମ୍ — in loving ecstasy; ଦଦାମି — I give; ବୁଦ୍ଧି-ୟୋଗମ୍ — real intelligence; ତମ୍ — that; ୟେନ — by which; ମାମ୍ — unto Me; ଉପୟାଂତି — come; ତେ — they.
Translation
To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ତେଷାମେଵାନୁକଂପାର୍ଥମହମଜ୍ଞାନଜଂ ତମଃ ।
ନାଶୟାମ୍ୟାତ୍ମଭାଵସ୍ଥୋ ଜ୍ଞାନଦୀପେନ ଭାସ୍ଵତା ॥ 11 ॥
Meaning
ତେଷାମ୍ — for them; ଏଵ — certainly; ଅନୁକଂପା-ଅର୍ଥମ୍ — to show special mercy; ଅହମ୍ — I; ଅଜ୍ଞାନ-ଜମ୍ — due to ignorance; ତମଃ — darkness; ନାଶୟାମି — dispel; ଆତ୍ମ-ଭାଵ — within their hearts; ସ୍ଥଃ — situated; ଜ୍ଞାନ — of knowledge; ଦୀପେନ — with the lamp; ଭାସ୍ଵତା — glowing.
Translation
To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.

ଅର୍ଜୁନ ଉଵାଚ
ପରଂ ବ୍ରହ୍ମ ପରଂ ଧାମ ପଵିତ୍ରଂ ପରମଂ ଭଵାନ୍ ।
ପୁରୁଷଂ ଶାଶ୍ଵତଂ ଦିଵ୍ୟମାଦିଦେଵମଜଂ ଵିଭୁମ୍ ॥ 12 ॥
ଆହୁସ୍ତ୍ଵାମୃଷୟଃ ସର୍ଵେ ଦେଵର୍ଷିର୍ନାରଦସ୍ତଥା ।
ଅସିତୋ ଦେଵଲୋ ଵ୍ୟାସଃ ସ୍ଵୟଂ ଚୈଵ ବ୍ରଵୀଷି ମେ ॥ 13 ॥

Translation
Arjuna said: You are the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original person, the unborn, the greatest. All the great sages such as Nārada, Asita, Devala and Vyāsa confirm this truth about You, and now You Yourself are declaring it to me.
ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ସର୍ଵମେତଦୃତଂ ମନ୍ୟେ ୟନ୍ମାଂ ଵଦସି କେଶଵ ।
ନ ହି ତେ ଭଗଵନ୍ଵ୍ୟକ୍ତିଂ ଵିଦୁର୍ଦେଵା ନ ଦାନଵାଃ ॥ 14 ॥
Meaning

Translation
O Kriṣṇa, I totally accept as truth all that You have told me. Neither the demigods nor the demons, O Lord, can understand Your personality.

ସ୍ଵୟମେଵାତ୍ମନାତ୍ମାନଂ ଵେତ୍ଥ ତ୍ଵଂ ପୁରୁଷୋତ୍ତମ ।
ଭୂତଭାଵନ ଭୂତେଶ ଦେଵଦେଵ ଜଗତ୍ପତେ ॥ 15 ॥

Translation
Indeed, You alone know Yourself by Your own internal potency, O Supreme Person, origin of all, Lord of all beings, God of gods, Lord of the universe!

ଵକ୍ତୁମର୍ହସ୍ୟଶେଷେଣ ଦିଵ୍ୟା ହ୍ୟାତ୍ମଵିଭୂତୟଃ ।
ୟାଭିର୍ଵିଭୂତିଭିର୍ଲୋକାନିମାଂସ୍ତ୍ଵଂ ଵ୍ୟାପ୍ୟ ତିଷ୍ଠସି ॥ 16 ॥
Meaning

Translation
Please tell me in detail of Your divine opulences by which You pervade all these worlds.

କଥଂ ଵିଦ୍ୟାମହଂ ୟୋଗିଂସ୍ତ୍ଵାଂ ସଦା ପରିଚିଂତୟନ୍ ।
କେଷୁ କେଷୁ ଚ ଭାଵେଷୁ ଚିଂତ୍ୟୋଽସି ଭଗଵନ୍ମୟା ॥ 17 ॥
Meaning
କଥମ୍ — how; ଵିଦ୍ୟାଂ ଅହମ୍ — shall I know; ୟୋଗିନ୍ — O supreme mystic; ତ୍ଵାମ୍ — You; ସଦା — always; ପରିଚିଂତୟନ୍ — thinking of; କେଷୁ — in which; କେଷୁ — in which; ଚ — also; ଭାଵେଷୁ — natures; ଚିଂତ୍ୟଃ ଅସି — You are to be remembered; ଭଗଵନ୍ — O Supreme; ମୟା — by me.
Translation
O Kriṣṇa, O supreme mystic, how shall I constantly think of You, and how shall I know You? In what various forms are You to be remembered, O Supreme Personality of Godhead?

ଵିସ୍ତରେଣାତ୍ମନୋ ୟୋଗଂ ଵିଭୂତିଂ ଚ ଜନାର୍ଦନ ।
ଭୂୟଃ କଥୟ ତୃପ୍ତିର୍ହି ଶଋଣ୍ଵତୋ ନାସ୍ତି ମେଽମୃତମ୍ ॥ 18 ॥

Translation
O Janārdana, again please describe in detail the mystic power of Your opulences. I am never satiated in hearing about You, for the more I hear the more I want to taste the nectar of Your words.

ରୁଦ୍ରାଣାଂ ଶଂକରଶ୍ଚାସ୍ମି ଵିତ୍ତେଶୋ ୟକ୍ଷରକ୍ଷସାମ୍ ।
ଵସୂନାଂ ପାଵକଶ୍ଚାସ୍ମି ମେରୁଃ ଶିଖରିଣାମହମ୍ ॥ 23 ॥
Meaning

But what need is there, Arjuna, for all this detailed knowledge? With a single fragment of Myself I pervade and support this entire universe.
