ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଵୃକଭୃଗୁମୁନିମୋହିନ୍ୟଂବରୀଷାଦିଵୃତ୍ତେ-
ଷ୍ଵୟି ତଵ ହି ମହତ୍ତ୍ଵଂ ସର୍ଵଶର୍ଵାଦିଜୈତ୍ରମ୍ ।
ସ୍ଥିତମିହ ପରମାତ୍ମନ୍ ନିଷ୍କଲାର୍ଵାଗଭିନ୍ନଂ
କିମପି ୟଦଵଭାତଂ ତଦ୍ଧି ରୂପଂ ତଵୈଵ ॥1॥

Meaning
ଵୃକ-ଭୃଗୁମୁନି- - Vrikaasura, sage Bhrigu; ମୋହିନୀ-ଅଂବରୀଷ- - (and Thy incarnation as) Mohini and Ambareesh; ଆଦି-ଵୃତ୍ତେଷୁ-ଅୟି - etc., (in these) episodes, O Thou!; ତଵ ହି ମହତ୍ତ୍ଵଂ - Thy majesty only; ସର୍ଵ-ଶର୍ଵ-ଆଦି-ଜୈତ୍ରମ୍ - (above) all others, including Shiva, supersedes; ସ୍ଥିତମ୍-ଇହ - proved here; ପରମାତ୍ମନ୍ - O Supreme Being!; ନିଷ୍କଲ-ଅର୍ଵାକ-ଅଭିନ୍ନଂ - Nishkala, Sakala and non-different; କିମ୍-ଅପି ୟତ୍- - indescribable which; ଅଵଭାତଂ ତତ୍ ହି - shines that alone; ରୂପଂ ତଵ-ଏଵ - Thy form (is) Thine alone;

Translation
O Supreme Being! The episodes of Vrikaasura, Sage Bhrigu, Thy Mohini Avataar and the Ambareesh episode only proves, here, that Thy majesty and superiority supersedes over all other deities like Shiva and others.Thou are non-different from Thy Nishkala (partless) form and Thy Sakala (part) forms like Shiva, Brahamaa, and shine in an indescribable manner as the essence of all.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ମୂର୍ତିତ୍ରୟେଶ୍ଵରସଦାଶିଵପଂଚକଂ ୟତ୍
ପ୍ରାହୁଃ ପରାତ୍ମଵପୁରେଵ ସଦାଶିଵୋଽସ୍ମିନ୍ ।
ତତ୍ରେଶ୍ଵରସ୍ତୁ ସ ଵିକୁଂଠପଦସ୍ତ୍ଵମେଵ
ତ୍ରିତ୍ଵଂ ପୁନର୍ଭଜସି ସତ୍ୟପଦେ ତ୍ରିଭାଗେ ॥2॥

Meaning
ମୂର୍ତି-ତ୍ରୟ-ଈଶ୍ଵର- - the Trimurti Ishwara and; ସଦାଶିଵ-ପଂଚକଂ - Sadaashiva (are the) five aspects; ୟତ୍ ପ୍ରାହୁଃ - which is said (by the Shaivaas); ପରାତ୍ମ-ଵପୁଃ-ଏଵ - the Supreme Being alone (Thou); ସଦାଶିଵଃ-ଅସ୍ମିନ୍ - as Sadaashiva,here,; ତତ୍ର-ଈଶ୍ଵରଃ-ତୁ ସ - and there the Ishwara indeed he; ଵିକୁଂଠପଦଃ-ତ୍ଵମ୍-ଏଵ - (in) Vaikuntha residing Thou alone; ତ୍ରିତ୍ଵଂ ପୁନଃ-ଭଜସି - three forms again Thou assume; ସତ୍ୟପଦେ ତ୍ରିଭାଗେ - in the Satyaloka in three parts;

Translation
The Shaivaas speak of five aspects with Brahmaa Vishnu Shiva Ishwara and Sadaashiva. Here Sadaashiva is Thy own self the Supreme Being. Thou alone are Ishwara the Lord of Vaikuntha. The three forms of Trinity, Thou alone assume in the three parts of Satyaloka.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ତତ୍ରାପି ସାତ୍ତ୍ଵିକତନୁଂ ତଵ ଵିଷ୍ଣୁମାହୁ-
ର୍ଧାତା ତୁ ସତ୍ତ୍ଵଵିରଲୋ ରଜସୈଵ ପୂର୍ଣଃ ।
ସତ୍ତ୍ଵୋତ୍କଟତ୍ଵମପି ଚାସ୍ତି ତମୋଵିକାର-
ଚେଷ୍ଟାଦିକଂଚ ତଵ ଶଂକରନାମ୍ନି ମୂର୍ତୌ ॥3॥

Meaning
ତତ୍ର-ଅପି - there also; ସାତ୍ତ୍ଵିକ-ତନୁଂ ତଵ - the Saatvic form of Thee; ଵିଷ୍ଣୁମ୍-ଆହୁଃ- - Vishnu is called; ଧାତା ତୁ - Brahmaa indeed; ସତ୍ତ୍ଵ-ଵିରଲଃ- - (with) Sattva sparse; ରଜସା-ଏଵ ପୂର୍ଣଃ - and Rajas only is full; ସତ୍ତ୍ଵ-ଉତ୍କଟତ୍ଵମ୍-ଅପି - Sattva in full measure, though; ଚ-ଅସ୍ତି - and is; ତମଃ-ଵିକାର- - by Tamasa's blemish; ଚେଷ୍ଟା-ଆଦିକମ୍-ଚ - activities etc (are); ତଵ ଶଂକର-ନାମ୍ନି - in Thy Shankara named; ମୂର୍ତୌ - form;

Translation
The form of Vishnu, among the Trimurti, is a manifestation of pure Sattva. Brahmaa is the manifestation of abundance of Rajas with a trace of Sattva. Whereas, Thy form known as Shankara has an abundance of Sattva but Tamas expresses itself in its activities.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ତଂ ଚ ତ୍ରିମୂର୍ତ୍ୟତିଗତଂ ପରପୂରୁଷଂ ତ୍ଵାଂ
ଶର୍ଵାତ୍ମନାପି ଖଲୁ ସର୍ଵମୟତ୍ଵହେତୋଃ ।
ଶଂସଂତ୍ୟୁପାସନଵିଧୌ ତଦପି ସ୍ଵତସ୍ତୁ
ତ୍ଵଦ୍ରୂପମିତ୍ୟତିଦୃଢଂ ବହୁ ନଃ ପ୍ରମାଣମ୍ ॥4॥

Meaning
ତଂ ଚ ତ୍ରିମୂର୍ତି-ଅତିଗତଂ - and Him, the Trimurtis transcending; ପରପୂରୁଷଂ ତ୍ଵାଂ - the Supreme Being Thee; ଶର୍ଵ-ଆତ୍ମନା-ଅପି - in Shiva's form also; ଖଲୁ - indeed; ସର୍ଵମୟତ୍ଵ-ହେତୋଃ - encompassing the essence of all, because of (this); ଶଂସଂତି-ଉପାସନ-ଵିଧୌ - describe in the worshipping codes/norms; ତତ୍-ଅପି ସ୍ଵତଃ-ତୁ - that too in reality indeed; ତ୍ଵତ୍-ରୂପମ୍-ଇତି- - (are) Thy form, thus (there are); ଅତି-ଦୃଢଂ - many strong; ବହୁ ନଃ ପ୍ରମାଣମ୍ - our proofs;

Translation
Thou do transcend the Trinity and are the Supreme Being. Thou are the essence of all and Shaivas worship Thee alone as Shiva with worshipping norms, as described. That too is Thy form alone. We have many proofs in support of this truth.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଶ୍ରୀଶଂକରୋଽପି ଭଗଵାନ୍ ସକଲେଷୁ ତାଵ-
ତ୍ତ୍ଵାମେଵ ମାନୟତି ୟୋ ନ ହି ପକ୍ଷପାତୀ ।
ତ୍ଵନ୍ନିଷ୍ଠମେଵ ସ ହି ନାମସହସ୍ରକାଦି
ଵ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟାତ୍ ଭଵତ୍ସ୍ତୁତିପରଶ୍ଚ ଗତିଂ ଗତୋଽଂତେ ॥5॥

Meaning
ଶ୍ରୀ ଶଂକରଃ-ଅପି - The great Shakaraachaarya also; ଭଗଵାନ୍ - the Bhagavatpaada,; ସକଲେଷୁ ତାଵତ୍- - among all the Sakala forms, then,; ତ୍ଵାମ୍-ଏଵ ମାନୟତି - to Thee alone gives honour; ୟଃ-ନ ହି ପକ୍ଷପାତୀ - who does not favour anyone; ତ୍ଵତ୍-ନିଷ୍ଠମ୍-ଏଵ - to Thee referring to, alone; ସ ହି ନାମ-ସହସ୍ରକ-ଆଦି - he indeed , on Sahasranaam etc.,; ଵ୍ୟାଖ୍ୟାତ୍ - commented on; ଭଵତ୍-ସ୍ତୁତି-ପରଃ-ଚ - and Thy praises singing, inclined to,; ଗତିଂ ଗତଃ-ଅଂତେ - samaadhi attained to, in the end;

Translation
Bhagavatpaada Shree Shankaraachaarya also, among all the Sakala forms, honours Thy form alone. He who is not of the nature of favouring any one deity has commented on the Sahasranaama etc., referring to Thee alone. In the end he attained samaadhi singing Thy praises.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ମୂର୍ତିତ୍ରୟାତିଗମୁଵାଚ ଚ ମଂତ୍ରଶାସ୍ତ୍ର-
ସ୍ୟାଦୌ କଲାୟସୁଷମଂ ସକଲେଶ୍ଵରଂ ତ୍ଵାମ୍ ।
ଧ୍ୟାନଂ ଚ ନିଷ୍କଲମସୌ ପ୍ରଣଵେ ଖଲୂକ୍ତ୍ଵା
ତ୍ଵାମେଵ ତତ୍ର ସକଲଂ ନିଜଗାଦ ନାନ୍ୟମ୍ ॥6॥

Meaning
ମୂର୍ତି-ତ୍ରୟ-ଅତିଗମ୍- - the Trinity transcending; ଉଵାଚ ଚ ମଂତ୍ର-ଶାସ୍ତ୍ରସ୍ୟ-ଆଦୌ - and (he) said, in the beginning of the Mantra Shastra; କଲାୟ-ସୁଷମମ୍ - beautiful as the Kalaaya flower (blue lily); ସକଲ-ଈଶ୍ଵରଂ ତ୍ଵାମ୍ - the Lord of all, Thee; ଧ୍ୟାନଂ ଚ ନିଷ୍କଲମ୍- - and meditation on Nish-kala (non-part); ଅସୌ ପ୍ରଣଵେ ଖଲୁ-ଉକ୍ତ୍ଵା - he (Shankara) in Pranava, indeed, describing; ତ୍ଵାମ୍-ଏଵ ତତ୍ର ସକଲଂ - Thee alone there Sakal (in part); ନିଜଗାଦ ନ-ଅନ୍ୟମ୍ - propounded, not any other;

Translation
In his famous work of Mantra Shastra, known as Prapanchasaara, Shri Shankara has described Thee as transcending the Trinity - Brahmaa, Vishnu and Mahesh. He has described Thee as a beautiful blue lily and the Lord of all. When he describes the meditation on Nishkala, while dealing with Pranava, he also propounds Thy Sakala form, and of no other deity, Thee as the object of meditation.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ସମସ୍ତସାରେ ଚ ପୁରାଣସଂଗ୍ରହେ
ଵିସଂଶୟଂ ତ୍ଵନ୍ମହିମୈଵ ଵର୍ଣ୍ୟତେ ।
ତ୍ରିମୂର୍ତିୟୁକ୍ସତ୍ୟପଦତ୍ରିଭାଗତଃ
ପରଂ ପଦଂ ତେ କଥିତଂ ନ ଶୂଲିନଃ ॥7॥

Meaning
ସମସ୍ତ-ସାରେ - and inclusive of all the gist; ଚ ପୁରାଣ-ସଂଗ୍ରହେ - in Puraana Sangraha; ଵିସଂଶୟଂ - unequivocally (without doubt); ତ୍ଵତ୍-ମହିମା-ଏଵ ଵର୍ଣ୍ୟତେ - Thy supreme greatness alone is described; ତ୍ରିମୂର୍ତି-ୟୁକ୍- - the Trinity containing; ସତ୍ୟପଦ-ତ୍ରିଭାଗତଃ ପରଂ - the Satyaloka in three parts, transcending,; ପଦଂ ତେ କଥିତଂ - Thy abofe is described; ନ ଶୂଲିନଃ - not (the abode) of Shiva;

Translation
In the text of Puraana Sangraha where there is the gist of all the Puraanas,Thy supreme greatness alone is unequivocally described. The Trimurti occupying the Satyaloka in three parts has been depicted. But Thy abode, Vaikuntha has been described as distinct and superior to and so transcending Satyaloka. No reference is made to the abode of Shiva.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ୟତ୍ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମକଲ୍ପ ଇହ ଭାଗଵତଦ୍ଵିତୀୟ-
ସ୍କଂଧୋଦିତଂ ଵପୁରନାଵୃତମୀଶ ଧାତ୍ରେ ।
ତସ୍ୟୈଵ ନାମ ହରିଶର୍ଵମୁଖଂ ଜଗାଦ
ଶ୍ରୀମାଧଵଃ ଶିଵପରୋଽପି ପୁରାଣସାରେ ॥8॥

Meaning
ୟତ୍ ବ୍ରାହ୍ମକଲ୍ପ ଇହ - that which in the Braahmakalpa, here,; ଭାଗଵତ-ଦ୍ଵିତୀୟ-ସ୍କଂଧ-ଉଦିତଂ - (and) in the second Skanda of Bhaagavata, narrated; ଵପୁଃ-ଅନାଵୃତମ୍- - that form, revealed; ଈଶ ଧାତ୍ରେ - O Lord! For Brahamaa; ତସ୍ୟ-ଏଵ ନାମ - that form's, alone, name; ହରି-ଶର୍ଵ-ମୁଖଂ - Hari, Shiva etc.,; ଜଗାଦ ଶ୍ରୀମାଧଵଃ - has been said of, by Shri Maadhavaachaarya; ଶିଵ-ପରଃ-ଅପି - who was a devotee od Shiva himself; ପୁରାଣ-ସାରେ - in Puraanasaara;

Translation
O Lord! Here, at the time of Braahmakalpa, Thou had revealed Thy form to Brahmaa, which is described in the second Skanda of the Bhaagavatam. Maadhavaachaarya, who was himself a votary of Shiva, has referred to that same form with the names Hari, Shiva etc., in Puraanasaara.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ୟେ ସ୍ଵପ୍ରକୃତ୍ୟନୁଗୁଣା ଗିରିଶଂ ଭଜଂତେ
ତେଷାଂ ଫଲଂ ହି ଦୃଢୟୈଵ ତଦୀୟଭକ୍ତ୍ୟା।
ଵ୍ୟାସୋ ହି ତେନ କୃତଵାନଧିକାରିହେତୋଃ
ସ୍କଂଦାଦିକେଷୁ ତଵ ହାନିଵଚୋଽର୍ଥଵାଦୈଃ ॥9॥

Meaning
ୟେ ସ୍ଵ-ପ୍ରକୃତି-ଅନୁଗୁଣା - those who by their natural inclination worship Shiva; ଗିରିଶଂ ଭଜଂତେ - worship Shiva; ତେଷାଂ ଫଲଂ ହି ଦୃଢୟା-ଏଵ - for them the results are by firmness only; ତଦୀୟ-ଭକ୍ତ୍ୟା - in their devotion; ଵ୍ୟାସଃ-ହି ତେନ କୃତଵାନ୍- - sage Vyaasa himself has asserted; ଅଧିକାର-ହେତୋଃ - as a benefit for such devotion; ସ୍କଂଦ-ଆଦିକେଷୁ - in the Skanda and other scriptures; ତଵ ହାନି-ଵଚଃ- - (speaking for) belittling words; ଅର୍ଥଵାଦୈଃ - by way of eulogy;

Translation
People who by their natural inclination are devoted to worship Shiva, for them, the results (liberation) are achieved by their firmness in their devotion only. In the Skanda and other Scriptures, sage Vyaasa has asserted this, for the benefit of such devotees, with statements that belittle Thee which are to be taken as eulogy.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଭୂତାର୍ଥକୀର୍ତିରନୁଵାଦଵିରୁଦ୍ଧଵାଦୌ
ତ୍ରେଧାର୍ଥଵାଦଗତୟଃ ଖଲୁ ରୋଚନାର୍ଥାଃ ।
ସ୍କାଂଦାଦିକେଷୁ ବହଵୋଽତ୍ର ଵିରୁଦ୍ଧଵାଦା-
ସ୍ତ୍ଵତ୍ତାମସତ୍ଵପରିଭୂତ୍ୟୁପଶିକ୍ଷଣାଦ୍ୟାଃ ॥10॥

Meaning
ଭୂତ-ଅର୍ଥ-କୀର୍ତିଃ- - existing facts exaggeration; ଅନୁଵାଦ-ଵିରୁଦ୍ଧ-ଵାଦୌ - in accordance with experience, and contrary to experience, these two methods,; ତ୍ରେଧା-ଅର୍ଥ-ଵାଦ-ଗତୟଃ - (in all) these three are the modes (of Arthavaada); ଖଲୁ ରୋଚନ-ଅର୍ଥାଃ - indeed (they are to make) interesting the subject meaning; ସ୍କାଂଦ୍-ଆଦିକେଷୁ - in the Skaanda and other scriptures; ବହଵଃ-ଅତ୍ର - many are here; ଵିରୁଦ୍ଧ-ଵାଦାଃ- - contrary statements; ତ୍ଵତ୍-ତାମସତ୍ଵ- - (for example) Thy Taamasic (nature); ପରିଭୂତି-ଉପଶିକ୍ଷଣ-ଆଦ୍ୟାଃ - (Thy) defeat, Thou being instructed by others etc.;

Translation
Arthavaada has three methods- 1) statements where existing facts are exaggerated, 2)statements are in accordance with experience, 3)statements are contrary to experience. These are used to make the subject matter interesting. In the Skaanda Puraana and other scriptures there are many contrary statements, referring to Thy Taamasic nature, Thy defeat or Thou being instructed by others etc., which are in the category of the third method.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ୟତ୍ କିଂଚିଦପ୍ୟଵିଦୁଷାଽପି ଵିଭୋ ମୟୋକ୍ତଂ
ତନ୍ମଂତ୍ରଶାସ୍ତ୍ରଵଚନାଦ୍ୟଭିଦୃଷ୍ଟମେଵ ।
ଵ୍ୟାସୋକ୍ତିସାରମୟଭାଗଵତୋପଗୀତ
କ୍ଲେଶାନ୍ ଵିଧୂୟ କୁରୁ ଭକ୍ତିଭରଂ ପରାତ୍ମନ୍ ॥11॥

Meaning
ୟତ୍-କିଂଚିତ୍-ଅପି- - what little even; ଅଵିଦୁଷା-ଅପି - by (me) the ignorant, though; ଵିଭୋ ମୟା-ଉକ୍ତଂ - O Lord! By me is said; ତତ୍-ମଂତ୍ରଶାସ୍ତ୍ର-ଵଚନାଦି- - that expounded in Mantra Shaastra statements; ଅଭିଦୃଷ୍ଟମ୍-ଏଵ - is in accordance (to that) only; ଵ୍ୟାସ-ଉକ୍ତି-ସାର-ମୟ- - all Vyaasa's sayings' essence contained; ଭାଗଵତ-ଉପଗୀତ - (in) Bhaagavata (where) are sung (Thy excellences); କ୍ଲେଶାନ୍ ଵିଧୂୟ - (That Thou) my ailments eradicating; କୁରୁ ଭକ୍ତିଭରଂ - endow firm devotion (to me); ପରାତ୍ମନ୍ - O Supreme Being!;

Translation
O Supreme Being! Though I am an ignorant man, what little I have said, is in accordance to what is expounded in the Mantra Shaastra. Bhaagavata is the essence of all the sayings of sage Vyaasa and Thy excellences are sung there in. Deign to eradicate my ailments and endow firm devotion to me.
