ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଗରଲଂ ତରଲାନଲଂ ପୁରସ୍ତା-
ଜ୍ଜଲଧେରୁଦ୍ଵିଜଗାଲ କାଲକୂଟମ୍ ।
ଅମରସ୍ତୁତିଵାଦମୋଦନିଘ୍ନୋ
ଗିରିଶସ୍ତନ୍ନିପପୌ ଭଵତ୍ପ୍ରିୟାର୍ଥମ୍ ॥1॥

Meaning
ଗରଲଂ - poison; ତରଲ-ଅନଲଂ - as molten fire; ପୁରସ୍ତାତ୍- - first and foremost; ଜଲଧେଃ- - from the ocean; ଉଦ୍ଵିଜଗାଲ - emerged; କାଲକୂଟମ୍ - (which was ) the Kaalkoota poison; ଅମର-ସ୍ତୁତିଵାଦ୍-ମୋଦନିଘ୍ନଃ - pleased by the praises sung by the Devas; ଗିରିଶଃ- - Shiva; ତତ୍-ନିପପୌ - drank that; ଭଵତ୍-ପ୍ରିୟାର୍ଥମ୍ - to please Thee;

Translation
First and foremost there emerged from the ocean the Kaalakoota poison which was like molten fire. The gods propitiated Shiva by singing hymns of praise to him. He then drank the poison to please Thee.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଵିମଥତ୍ସୁ ସୁରାସୁରେଷୁ ଜାତା
ସୁରଭିସ୍ତାମୃଷିଷୁ ନ୍ୟଧାସ୍ତ୍ରିଧାମନ୍ ।
ହୟରତ୍ନମଭୂଦଥେଭରତ୍ନଂ
ଦ୍ୟୁତରୁଶ୍ଚାପ୍ସରସଃ ସୁରେଷୁ ତାନି ॥2॥

Meaning
ଵିମଥତ୍ସୁ ସୁର-ଅସୁରେଷୁ - as were churning, the Devas and Asuras; ଜାତା ସୁରଭିଃ- - was born (came out) Kaamadhenu (the divine cow); ତାମ୍-ଋଷିଷୁ ନ୍ୟଧାଃ- - to the rishis (Thou) gave her; ତ୍ରିଧାମନ୍ - O Lord of the three worlds!; ହୟ-ରତ୍ନମ୍-ଅଭୂତ୍- - the jewel of a horse (Uchchaishrava) emerged; ଅଥ-ଇଭ-ରତ୍ନମ୍ - then the great elephant (Airaavata); ଦ୍ୟୁ-ତରୁଃ- - the celestial tree (Kalpaka); ଚ-ଅପ୍ସରସଃ - and Apsaras (celestial nymphs); ସୁରେଷୁ ତାନି - to the Devas (Thou gave) them;

Translation
As the Devas and Asuras were churning, the divine cow Kaamadhenu came out.Thou gave it to the sages. O Lord of the three worlds! Then emerged the jewel of a horse (Uchchaishrava), then the great elephant (Airaavata), then the celestial tree (Kalpaka) and the Apsaras (divine damsels) appeared. Thou gave them to the gods.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଜଗଦୀଶ ଭଵତ୍ପରା ତଦାନୀଂ
କମନୀୟା କମଲା ବଭୂଵ ଦେଵୀ ।
ଅମଲାମଵଲୋକ୍ୟ ୟାଂ ଵିଲୋଲଃ
ସକଲୋଽପି ସ୍ପୃହୟାଂବଭୂଵ ଲୋକଃ ॥3॥

Meaning
ଜଗଦୀଶ - O Lord of the Worlds!; ଭଵତ୍ପରା - devoted to Thee; ତଦାନୀଂ - then; କମନୀୟା - enchanting; କମଲା ବଭୂଵ ଦେଵୀ - Lakshmi Devi emerged; ଅମଲାମ୍-ଅଵଲୋକ୍ୟ ୟାଂ - by seeing her pure form; ଵିଲୋଲଃ ସକଲଃ-ଅପି - fascinated everyone was; ସ୍ପୃହୟାମ୍-ବଭୂଵ ଲୋକଃ - and agitated with desire became the whole world;

Translation
O Lord of the worlds! Devoted to Thee, then the enchanting Lakshmi Devi emerged. Seeing her pure and perfect form everyone was fascinated and the world got agitated with desire.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ତ୍ଵୟି ଦତ୍ତହୃଦେ ତଦୈଵ ଦେଵ୍ୟୈ
ତ୍ରିଦଶେଂଦ୍ରୋ ମଣିପୀଠିକାଂ ଵ୍ୟତାରୀତ୍ ।
ସକଲୋପହୃତାଭିଷେଚନୀୟୈଃ
ଋଷୟସ୍ତାଂ ଶ୍ରୁତିଗୀର୍ଭିରଭ୍ୟଷିଂଚନ୍ ॥4॥

Meaning
ତ୍ଵୟି ଦତ୍ତହୃଦୟେ - having set her heart on Thee; ତଦା-ଏଵ ଦେଵ୍ୟୈ - then alone, by the goddess; ତ୍ରିଦଶେଂଦ୍ରଃ - Indra; ମଣିପୀଠିକାଂ - a bejewelled throne; ଵ୍ୟତାରୀତ୍ - gave; ସକଲ-ଉପହୃତ-ଅଭିଷେଚନୀୟୈଃ - with the objects of consecration which were brought by all; ଋଷୟଃ- - the Rishis; ତାଂ ଶ୍ରୁତି-ଗୀର୍ଭିଃ-ଅଭ୍ୟଷିଂଚନ୍ - consecrated her, also with Vedic hymns;

Translation
The goddess who had set her heart on Thee was given a bejewelled throne by Indra. With the objects which everyone had brought, the sages consecrated her, while they sang Vedic hymns.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅଭିଷେକଜଲାନୁପାତିମୁଗ୍ଧ-
ତ୍ଵଦପାଂଗୈରଵଭୂଷିତାଂଗଵଲ୍ଲୀମ୍ ।
ମଣିକୁଂଡଲପୀତଚେଲହାର-
ପ୍ରମୁଖୈସ୍ତାମମରାଦୟୋଽନ୍ଵଭୂଷନ୍ ॥5॥

Meaning
ଅଭିଷେକ-ଜଲ-ଅନୁପାତି- - with the holy waters pouring; ମୁଗ୍ଧ-ତ୍ଵତ୍-ଅପାଂଗୈଃ- - followed by Thy enamoured side glances; ଅଵଭୂଷିତା-ଅଂଗ-ଵଲ୍ଲୀମ୍ - her creeper like body was adorned; ମଣି-କୁଂଡଲ-ପୀତ-ଚେଲ-ହାର-ପ୍ରମୁଖୈଃ- - (and with) gem studded earrings, yellow silk robe and necklaces; ତାମ୍-ଅମର-ଆଦୟଃ-ଅନ୍ଵଭୂଷନ୍ - the gods adorned her further;

Translation
As the holy waters were pouring on her, her creeper like body was adorned by Thy enamoured side glances. The gods further bedecked her with gem studded earrings, yellow silk robe and necklaces etc.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଵରଣସ୍ରଜମାତ୍ତଭୃଂଗନାଦାଂ
ଦଧତୀ ସା କୁଚକୁଂଭମଂଦୟାନା ।
ପଦଶିଂଜିତମଂଜୁନୂପୁରା ତ୍ଵାଂ
କଲିତଵ୍ରୀଲଵିଲାସମାସସାଦ ॥6॥

Meaning
ଵରଣ-ସ୍ରଜମ୍- - the wedding garland; ଆତ୍ତ-ଭୃଂଗ-ନାଦାମ୍ - having humming bees on it; ଦଧତୀ ସା - holding she (Lakshmi Devi); କୁଚ-କୁଂଭ-ମଂଦ-ୟାନା - with a gait slowed by the weight of the pot like breasts; ପଦ-ଶିଂଜିତ-ମଂଜୁ-ନୂପୁରା - with beautiful anklets making a pleasant sound; ତ୍ଵାମ୍ - (towards) Thee; କଲିତ-ଵ୍ରୀଲ-ଵିଲାସମ୍- - displaying a little coyness; ଆସସାଦ - approached;

Translation
Lakshmi Devi holding a wedding garland having humming bees on it, approached Thee with a gait slowed down by the weight of her heavy breasts. As she walked, the beautiful anklets adorning her shapely feet spread a delightful sound and a touch of coyness on her face enhanced her beauty.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଗିରିଶଦ୍ରୁହିଣାଦିସର୍ଵଦେଵାନ୍
ଗୁଣଭାଜୋଽପ୍ୟଵିମୁକ୍ତଦୋଷଲେଶାନ୍ ।
ଅଵମୃଶ୍ୟ ସଦୈଵ ସର୍ଵରମ୍ୟେ
ନିହିତା ତ୍ଵୟ୍ୟନୟାଽପି ଦିଵ୍ୟମାଲା ॥7॥

Meaning
ଗିରିଶ-ଦ୍ରୁହିଣ-ଆଦି-ସର୍ଵ-ଦେଵାନ୍ - Shiva Brahmaa and other gods; ଗୁଣ-ଭାଜଃ-ଅପି- - though endowed with virtues; ଅଵିମୁକ୍ତ-ଦୋଷ-ଲେଶାନ୍ - were not free from slight discrepancies; ଅଵମୃଶ୍ୟ ସଦା-ଏଵ - finding that always; ସର୍ଵ-ରମ୍ୟେ - (Thou) perfect in everyway; ନିହିତା ତ୍ଵୟି- - put on Thee; ଅନୟା-ଅପି - by her also; ଦିଵ୍ୟ-ମାଲା - the divine garland;

Translation
She realised that all other gods as Shiva Brahmaa and others though endowed with virtues, were not free from all defects. Thou who are perfect in every way, she put the divine garland on Thee.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଉରସା ତରସା ମମାନିଥୈନାଂ
ଭୁଵନାନାଂ ଜନନୀମନନ୍ୟଭାଵାମ୍ ।
ତ୍ଵଦୁରୋଵିଲସତ୍ତଦୀକ୍ଷଣଶ୍ରୀ-
ପରିଵୃଷ୍ଟ୍ୟା ପରିପୁଷ୍ଟମାସ ଵିଶ୍ଵମ୍ ॥8॥

Meaning
ଉରସା ତରସା - by Thy bosom, quickly; ମମାନିଥ-ଐନାମ୍ - (taking her) and honoring her; ଭୁଵନାନାଂ ଜନନୀମ୍ - the mother of the worlds; ଅନନ୍ୟ ଭାଵାମ୍ - who is devoted to no other than Thee; ତ୍ଵତ୍-ଉରୋ-ଵିଲସତ୍- - on Thy bosom sporting; ତ୍ଵତ୍-ଈକ୍ଷଣ-ଶ୍ରୀ-ପରିଵୃଷ୍ଟ୍ୟା - by the showering of her auspicious glances; ପରିପୁଷ୍ଟମ୍-ଆସ ଵିଶ୍ଵମ୍ - prosperity was every where;

Translation
Lakshmi Devi, the mother of the universe, was immediately taken by Thee on Thy bosom giving her due respect and honor as she was solely devoted to Thee. Shining on Thy bosom she showered compassionate glances all around which brought prosperity to the whole world.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅତିମୋହନଵିଭ୍ରମା ତଦାନୀଂ
ମଦୟଂତୀ ଖଲୁ ଵାରୁଣୀ ନିରାଗାତ୍ ।
ତମସଃ ପଦଵୀମଦାସ୍ତ୍ଵମେନା-
ମତିସମ୍ମାନନୟା ମହାସୁରେଭ୍ୟଃ ॥9॥

Meaning
ଅତି-ମୋହନ-ଵିଭ୍ରମା - highly exciting and deluding; ତଦାନୀଂ - then; ମଦୟଂତୀ ଖଲୁ - intoxicating indeed; ଵାରୁଣୀ ନିରାଗାତ୍ - liquor emerged; ତମସଃ ପଦଵୀମ୍- - the source of all sins and vice; ଅଦାଃ- ତ୍ଵମ୍-ଏନାମ୍- - Thou gave her; ଅତି-ସମ୍ମାନନୟା - with great honor; ମହା-ଅସୁରେଭ୍ୟଃ - to the great Asuras;

Translation
Then the highly exciting, deluding and intoxicating liquor gushed forth. This, the source of sins and vices, Thou ceremoniously gave to the great Asuras.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ତରୁଣାଂବୁଦସୁଂଦରସ୍ତଦା ତ୍ଵଂ
ନନୁ ଧନ୍ଵଂତରିରୁତ୍ଥିତୋଽଂବୁରାଶେଃ ।
ଅମୃତଂ କଲଶେ ଵହନ୍ କରାଭ୍ୟା-
ମଖିଲାର୍ତିଂ ହର ମାରୁତାଲୟେଶ ॥10॥

Meaning
ତରୁଣ-ଅଂବୁଦ-ସୁଂଦରଃ- - beautiful like fresh rain clouds; ତଦା ତ୍ଵଂ ନନୁ - Then Thou indeed; ଧନ୍ଵଂତରିଃ-ଉତ୍ଥିତଃ- - in the form of Dhanwantari emerged; ଅଂବୁରାଶେଃ - from the ocean; ଅମୃତଂ କଲଶେ ଵହନ୍ - nectar carrying in a pot; କରାଭ୍ୟାମ୍- - with (Thy) two hands; ଅଖିଲ-ଆର୍ତିଂ ହର - be pleased to remove all my ailments; ମାରୁତାଲୟେଶ - O Lord of Guruvaayur!;

Translation
From the ocean, then, Thou emerged beautiful like a fresh rain cloud in the form of Dhanwantari holding in Thy two hands the pot of nectar. O Lord of Guruvaayur! Deign to remove all my ailments.
