ନାରାୟଣୀୟଂ ଦଶକ 46

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅୟି ଦେଵ ପୁରା କିଲ ତ୍ଵୟି ସ୍ଵୟମୁତ୍ତାନଶୟେ ସ୍ତନଂଧୟେ ।
ପରିଜୃଂଭଣତୋ ଵ୍ୟପାଵୃତେ ଵଦନେ ଵିଶ୍ଵମଚଷ୍ଟ ଵଲ୍ଲଵୀ ॥1॥

Meaning
ଅୟି ଦେଵ - O Lord!; ପୁରା କିଲ - long ago indeed; ତ୍ଵୟି ସ୍ଵୟମ୍- - (when) Thou by Thyself; ଉତ୍ତାନଶୟେ - while lying on the back; ସ୍ତନଂଧୟେ - and sucking at the breast (of Yashodaa); ପରିଜୃଂଭଣତଃ - by yawning; ଵ୍ୟପାଵୃତେ ଵଦନେ - in Thy open mouth; ଵିଶ୍ଵମ୍-ଅଚଷ୍ଟ - the universe, was seen; ଵଲ୍ଲଵୀ - by the cowherdess (Yashodaa);

Translation
O Lord! Once long ago, as Thou were lying flat on the back, in the lap of Yashodaa and sucking at her breast, Thou yawned. As Thou did so, in Thy open mouth, Thou revealed to her the whole universe.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ପୁନରପ୍ୟଥ ବାଲକୈଃ ସମଂ ତ୍ଵୟି ଲୀଲାନିରତେ ଜଗତ୍ପତେ ।
ଫଲସଂଚୟଵଂଚନକ୍ରୁଧା ତଵ ମୃଦ୍ଭୋଜନମୂଚୁରର୍ଭକାଃ ॥2॥

Meaning
ପୁନଃ-ଅପି-ଅଥ - again also; ବାଲକୈଃ ସମଂ - with the children; ତ୍ଵୟି ଲୀଲା-ନିରତେ - (when) Thou were engrossed in play; ଜଗତ୍ପତେ - O Lord of the Universe!; ଫଲ-ସଂଚୟ- - in collecting the fruits; ଵଂଚନ-କ୍ରୁଧା - being cheated and angered (the children); ତଵ ମୃଦ୍-ଭୋଜନମ୍- - Thy eating of sand; ଊଚୁଃ-ଅର୍ଭକାଃ - reported the children;

Translation
O Lord of the Universe! Again once, as Thou were playing with other children, Thou cheated them in collecting fruits. Angered at this, they reported to Thy mother that Thou had eaten mud.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅୟି ତେ ପ୍ରଲୟାଵଧୌ ଵିଭୋ କ୍ଷିତିତୋୟାଦିସମସ୍ତଭକ୍ଷିଣଃ ।
ମୃଦୁପାଶନତୋ ରୁଜା ଭଵେଦିତି ଭୀତା ଜନନୀ ଚୁକୋପ ସା ॥3॥

Meaning
ଅୟି - O (Thou); ତେ ପ୍ରଲୟ-ଅଵଧୌ - Thee at the time of deluge; ଵିଭୋ - O Lord!; କ୍ଷିତି-ତୋୟ-ଆଦି- - earth water etc; ସମସ୍ତ-ଭକ୍ଷିଣଃ - everything consuming; ମୃଦ୍-ଉପାଶନତଃ - by eating mud,; ରୁଜା ଭଵେତ୍-ଇତି - sickness may be, thus; ଭୀତା ଜନନୀ - (Thy) frightened mother; ଚୁକୋପ ସା - she became angry;

Translation
O Lord! At the time of the deluge Thou do consume everything earth water etc. Yet Thy mother was frightened that Thou may fall sick by eating mud and so she became angry.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅୟି ଦୁର୍ଵିନୟାତ୍ମକ ତ୍ଵୟା କିମୁ ମୃତ୍ସା ବତ ଵତ୍ସ ଭକ୍ଷିତା ।
ଇତି ମାତୃଗିରଂ ଚିରଂ ଵିଭୋ ଵିତଥାଂ ତ୍ଵଂ ପ୍ରତିଜଜ୍ଞିଷେ ହସନ୍ ॥4॥

Meaning
ଅୟି ଦୁର୍ଵିନୟାତ୍ମକ - O naughty (one); ତ୍ଵୟା କିମୁ - by you was it; ମୃତ୍ସା ବତ - that mud indeed; ଵତ୍ସ ଭକ୍ଷିତା - O son, was eaten; ଇତି ମାତୃଗିରଂ - such the words of Thy mother; ଚିରଂ ଵିଭୋ - for a long time O Lord; ଵିତଥାଂ ତ୍ଵଂ - as false, Thee; ପ୍ରତିଜଜ୍ଞିଷେ ହସନ୍ - asserted laughingly;

Translation
O you naughty one! Is it that you have eaten mud O son!' O Lord! These words of Thy mother, for a long time, Thou kept on denying and laughingly asserted that Thou had not done so.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅୟି ତେ ସକଲୈର୍ଵିନିଶ୍ଚିତେ ଵିମତିଶ୍ଚେଦ୍ଵଦନଂ ଵିଦାର୍ୟତାମ୍ ।
ଇତି ମାତୃଵିଭର୍ତ୍ସିତୋ ମୁଖଂ ଵିକସତ୍ପଦ୍ମନିଭଂ ଵ୍ୟଦାରୟଃ ॥5॥

Meaning
ଅୟି ତେ - O Boy! Of you; ସକଲୈଃ-ଵିନିଶ୍ଚିତେ - by every one asserted; ଵିମତିଃ-ଚେତ୍- - is, if disagreed; ଵଦନଂ ଵିଦାର୍ୟତାମ୍ - mouth (please) open; ଇତି ମାତୃ-ଵିଭର୍ତ୍ସିତଃ - thus by mother reprimanded; ମୁଖଂ ଵିକସତ୍-ପଦ୍ମ-ନିଭମ୍ - the mouth opening, lotus like; ଵ୍ୟଦାରୟଃ - (Thou) opened;

Translation
O Boy! If you deny what all the others are saying, please open your mouth.' Thus reprimanded by Thy mother, Thou opened Thy mouth as a lotus in full bloom.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଅପି ମୃଲ୍ଲଵଦର୍ଶନୋତ୍ସୁକାଂ ଜନନୀଂ ତାଂ ବହୁ ତର୍ପୟନ୍ନିଵ ।
ପୃଥିଵୀଂ ନିଖିଲାଂ ନ କେଵଲଂ ଭୁଵନାନ୍ୟପ୍ୟଖିଲାନ୍ୟଦୀଦୃଶଃ ॥6॥

Meaning
ଅପି ମୃଲ୍-ଲଵ - even a mud trace; ଦର୍ଶନ-ଉତ୍ସୁକାଂ - eager to see; ଜନନୀଂ ତାଂ - to mother that; ବହୁ ତର୍ପୟନ୍-ଇଵ - very much trying to please as though,; ପୃଥିଵୀଂ ନିଖିଲାଂ - the earth whole; ନ କେଵଲଂ - not only; ଭୁଵନାନ୍-ଅପି- - the other worlds also; ଅଖିଲାନ୍-ଅଦୀଦୃଶଃ - entirely showed;

Translation
Thy mother was eager to see just a trace of mud in Thy mouth. As though to please her, and to give her abundant satisfaction Thou showed her in Thy mouth not only this whole earth but the entire universe.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
କୁହଚିଦ୍ଵନମଂବୁଧିଃ କ୍ଵଚିତ୍ କ୍ଵଚିଦଭ୍ରଂ କୁହଚିଦ୍ରସାତଲମ୍ ।
ମନୁଜା ଦନୁଜାଃ କ୍ଵଚିତ୍ ସୁରା ଦଦୃଶେ କିଂ ନ ତଦା ତ୍ଵଦାନନେ ॥7॥

Meaning
କୁହଚିତ୍-ଵନମ୍- - somewhere the forests; ଅଂବୁଧିଃ କ୍ଵଚିତ୍ - the oceans somewhere; କ୍ଵଚିତ୍-ଅଭ୍ରଂ - somewhere the sky; କୁହଚିତ୍-ରସାତଲମ୍ - somewhere the Rasaatala; ମନୁଜାଃ ଦନୁଜାଃ - human beings, demons; କ୍ଵଚିତ୍ ସୁରାଃ - somewhere the devas; ଦଦୃଶେ କିଂ ନ - seen what not was; ତଦା ତ୍ଵତ୍-ଆନନେ - at that time in Thy mouth;

Translation
At that time, in Thy mouth what not was seen by Yashodaa? Somewhere the forests and oceans, somewhere the skies and Rasaatala, human beings and demons, gods and devas!

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
କଲଶାଂବୁଧିଶାୟିନଂ ପୁନଃ ପରଵୈକୁଂଠପଦାଧିଵାସିନମ୍ ।
ସ୍ଵପୁରଶ୍ଚ ନିଜାର୍ଭକାତ୍ମକଂ କତିଧା ତ୍ଵାଂ ନ ଦଦର୍ଶ ସା ମୁଖେ ॥8॥

Meaning
କଲଶ-ଅଂବୁଧି-ଶାୟିନଂ - in the milk ocean, the recliner; ପୁନଃ ପର-ଵୈକୁଂଠପଦ- - as the Paramaatamaa, in the Vaikuntha abode; ଅଧିଵାସିନମ୍ - the resident; ସ୍ଵ-ପୁରଃ-ଚ - in front of herself; ନିଜ-ଅର୍ଭକ-ଆତ୍ମକଂ - as her own son; କତିଧା - in how many ways; ତ୍ଵାଂ ନ ଦଦର୍ଶ - Thee did not see; ସା ମୁଖେ - she in (Thy) mouth;

Translation
Yashodaa saw in Thy mouth the recliner in the milk ocean. Again she saw Paramaatamaa, the resident of the Vaikunth abode. Then she saw Thee as her son in front of her. In how many different ways did she not see Thee.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଵିକସଦ୍ଭୁଵନେ ମୁଖୋଦରେ ନନୁ ଭୂୟୋଽପି ତଥାଵିଧାନନଃ ।
ଅନୟା ସ୍ଫୁଟମୀକ୍ଷିତୋ ଭଵାନନଵସ୍ଥାଂ ଜଗତାଂ ବତାତନୋତ୍ ॥9॥

Meaning
ଵିକସତ୍-ଭୁଵନେ - revealing the worlds; ମୁଖ-ଉଦରେ - in the inside of the mouth; ନନୁ ଭୂୟଃ-ଅପି - indeed then again also; ତଥା-ଵିଧ-ଆନନଃ - that same type of face; ଅନୟା ସ୍ଫୁଟମ୍-ଈକ୍ଷିତଃ - by her was clearly seen; ଭଵାନ୍-ଅନଵସ୍ଥାଂ - Thou as the infinitude; ଜଗତାଂ - of the universe; ବତ୍-ଆତନୋତ୍ - definitely expounded;

Translation
In the cavity of Thy mouth she saw all the worlds, where even Thou were present with Thy mouth open, once again, in which again all the worlds were seen; and so on endlessly. This definitely expounded Thou as the infinitude of the universe.

ଶ୍ଲୋକଃ
ଧୃତତତ୍ତ୍ଵଧିୟଂ ତଦା କ୍ଷଣଂ ଜନନୀଂ ତାଂ ପ୍ରଣୟେନ ମୋହୟନ୍ ।
ସ୍ତନମଂବ ଦିଶେତ୍ୟୁପାସଜନ୍ ଭଗଵନ୍ନଦ୍ଭୁତବାଲ ପାହି ମାମ୍ ॥10॥

Meaning
ଧୃତ-ତତ୍ତ୍ଵ-ଧିୟଂ - holding the reality in the mind; ତଦା କ୍ଷଣଂ - at that time for a moment; ଜନନୀଂ ତାଂ - to the mother; ପ୍ରଣୟେନ ମୋହୟନ୍ - by affection enchanting (deluding); ସ୍ତନମ୍-ଅଂବ ଦିଶ- - breast milk O Mother give'; ଇତି-ଉପାସଜନ୍ - thus embracing; ଭଗଵନ୍- - O Lord!; ଅଦ୍ଭୁତ-ବାଲ - O Wonderful Child!; ପାହି ମାମ୍ - protect me;

Translation
At that time for a moment, Yashodaa had a flash of illumination. Thou with affection deluded her and clung to her, calling her 'Mother' and demanded to be suckled. O Lord! Thou the Wondrous Child! Deign to protect me.
