ශ්ලෝකඃ
ක්වචිදථ තපනෝපරාගකාලේ පුරි නිදධත් කෘතවර්මකාමසූනූ ।
යදුකුලමහිලාවෘතඃ සුතීර්ථං සමුපගතෝऽසි සමංතපංචකාඛ්යම් ॥1॥
Meaning
ක්වචිත්-අථ - once then; තපන-උපරාග-කාලේ - in the solar eclipse time; පුරි නිදධත් - in the city leaving; කෘතවර්ම-කාමසූනූ - Kritavarma and Aniruddha; යදුකුල්-මහිලා-ආවෘතඃ - the Yadus and their women folk along with; සුතීර්ථං සමුපගතඃ-අසි - to the holy spot (Thou) went; සමංතපංචක-ආඛ්යම් - Samantapanchaka known as;
Translation
Once then during the time of Solar eclipse, leaving behind Kritvarma and Anirudhdha in charge of Dwaarika, Thou went to the holy spot known as Samantapanchaka, along with the Yaadava clan and their womenfolk.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
බහුතරජනතාහිතාය තත්ර ත්වමපි පුනන් විනිමජ්ය තීර්ථතෝයම් ।
ද්විජගණපරිමුක්තවිත්තරාශිඃ සමමිලථාඃ කුරුපාංඩවාදිමිත්රෛඃ ॥2॥
Meaning
බහුතර-ජනතා-හිතාය - for the large number of peoples benefit; තත්ර ත්වම්-අපි - there Thou also; පුනන් - sanctifying; විනිමජ්ය තීර්ථ-තෝයම් - dipping into the holy waters; ද්විජ-ගණ-පරිමුක්ත- - for the Braahmin groups giving away; විත්ත-රාශිඃ - money in large quantity; සමමිලථාඃ - (Thou) interacted; කුරු-පාංඩව-ආදි-මිත්රෛඃ - with the Kauravas and Pandavas and other friends;
Translation
Thou also took a dip in the holy waters and thereby sanctified the waters for the benefit of the large number of people. Thou also gave away money in good amount to the group of the Braahmins. Then Thou interacted with Thy friends the Kauravas and the Paandavas and others.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
තව ඛලු දයිතාජනෛඃ සමේතා ද්රුපදසුතා ත්වයි ගාඪභක්තිභාරා ।
තදුදිතභවදාහෘතිප්රකාරෛඃ අතිමුමුදේ සමමන්යභාමිනීභිඃ ॥3॥
Meaning
තව ඛලු දයිතා-ජනෛඃ - Thy indeed with the wives; සමේතා - mixing; ද්රුපදසුතා ත්වයි - Draupadi in Thee; ගාඪ-භක්ති-භාරා - deep devotion carrying; තත්-උදිත- - by them said; භවත්-ආහෘති-ප්රකාරෛඃ - Thy carrying (them) away methods; අති-මුමුදේ - was very delighted; සමම්-අන්ය-භාමිනීභිඃ - with other women;
Translation
Draupadi who was deeply devoted to Thee, freely mixed with Thy wives. She was very much delighted when they narrated the various methods by which they were abducted and married by Thee. The other women also enjoyed the narrations.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
තදනු ච භගවන් නිරීක්ෂ්ය ගෝපානතිකුතුකාදුපගම්ය මානයිත්වා।
චිරතරවිරහාතුරාංගරේඛාඃ පශුපවධූඃ සරසං ත්වමන්වයාසීඃ ॥4॥
Meaning
තදනු ච භගවන් - and after that O Lord!; නිරීක්ෂ්ය ගෝපාන්- - seeing the gopas; අති-කුතුකාත්- - with great joy; උපගම්ය මානයිත්වා - approaching and honoring them; චිරතර-විරහ-ආතුර- - for very long separation (from Thee) suffering; අංග-රේඛාඃ - body frailed; පශුප-වධූඃ - the gopikas; සරසං ත්වම්-අන්වයාසීඃ - joyfully Thee approached;
Translation
After that O Lord! Seeing the gopas Thou approached and honoured them with great joy. The gopikas had become frail in body due to the sorrow of separation from Thee for a very long time. Thou joyfully went to them also.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
සපදි ච භවදීක්ෂණෝත්සවේන ප්රමුෂිතමානහෘදාං නිතංබිනීනාම් ।
අතිරසපරිමුක්තකංචුලීකේ පරිචයහෘද්යතරේ කුචේ න්යලෛෂීඃ ॥5॥
Meaning
සපදි ච - and soon; භවත්-ඊක්ෂණ-උත්සවේන - Thee seeing celebration; ප්රමුෂිත-මාන-හෘදාම් - wiped away the complaints from their hearts; නිතංබිනීනාම් - of the beautiful women; අති-රස-පරිමුක්ත- - intense love giving away; කංචුලීකේ - their bodices; පරිචය-හෘද්යතරේ - in the familiar and very dear; කුචේ න්යලෛෂීඃ - breasts (Thou) got absorbed;
Translation
Instantly then, celebrating the joy of Thy sight all complaints from the hearts of the beautiful women were wiped away. With the intense love welled up, their bodices burst open revealing their very dear familiar breasts where Thou got absorbed.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
රිපුජනකලහෛඃ පුනඃ පුනර්මේ සමුපගතෛරියතී විලංබනාऽභූත් ।
ඉති කෘතපරිරංභණේත්වයි ද්රාක් අතිවිවශා ඛලු රාධිකා නිලිල්යේ ॥6॥
Meaning
රිපු-ජන-කලහෛඃ - enemies in conflict; පුනඃ පුනඃ- - again and again; මේ සමුපගතෛඃ- - my, by happening; ඉයතී විලංබනා- - so much delay; අභූත් - became; ඉති කෘත-පරිරංභණේ- - thus making embrace; ත්වයි ද්රාක් - by Thee immediately; අතිවිවශා - very overwhelmed; ඛලු රාධිකා - indeed Raadhika; නිලිල්යේ - became absorbed;
Translation
Raadhikaa was totally absorbed in Thee when Thou embraced her and told her that so much delay was caused in meeting her and the gopikas because of frequent clashes with the enemies.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
අපගතවිරහව්යථාස්තදා තා රහසි විධාය දදාථ තත්ත්වබෝධම් ।
පරමසුඛචිදාත්මකෝऽහමාත්මේත්යුදයතු වඃ ස්ඵුටමේව චේතසීති ॥7॥
Meaning
අපගත-විරහ-ව්යථාඃ- - (who were) free of the separation pangs; තදා තාඃ - then they (the gopikas); රහසි විධාය - privately making; දදාථ තත්ත්ව-බෝධම් - gave the knowledge of Reality; පරම-සුඛ-චිත්- - Supreme Bliss Consciousness; ආත්මකඃ-අහම්-ආත්මා- - Brahamana am I, the self; ඉති-උදයතු වඃ - thus may dawn in you; ස්ඵුටම්-ඒව - very clearly only; චේතසි-ඉති - in your hearts, thus;
Translation
Then the gopikas were rendered free from the pangs of separation as Thou gave them the knowledge of Supreme self privately. Thou instilled into their hearts that Thou were the Supreme Bliss Consciousness and the Supreme Brahaman, their inner most self.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
සුඛරසපරිමිශ්රිතෝ වියෝගඃ කිමපි පුරාऽභවදුද්ධවෝපදේශෛඃ ।
සමභවදමුතඃ පරං තු තාසාං පරමසුඛෛක්යමයී භවද්විචිංතා ॥8॥
Meaning
සුඛ-රස-පරිමිශ්රිතඃ - with joy mixed; වියෝගඃ කිම්-අපි - separation somehow; පුරා-අභවත්- - formerly happened; උද්ධව-උපදේශෛඃ - by Uddhava's preachings; සමභවත්-අමුතඃ - (but) happened by this; පරං තු තාසාම් - after (this) indeed to them; පරම්-සුඛ-ඓක්යමයී - Supreme Blissful Union; භවත්-විචිංතා - (with Thee by) Thy (mere) thought;
Translation
There remained a feeling of joy mixed with the sorrow of separation when long back the gopikas were advised by Uddhava. But after this instruction by Thee, they indeed were experiencing Supreme Blissful Union with Thee by a mere thought of Thee.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
මුනිවරනිවහෛස්තවාථ පිත්රා දුරිතශමාය ශුභානි පෘච්ඡ්යමානෛඃ ।
ත්වයි සති කිමිදං ශුභාංතරෛඃ රිත්යුරුහසිතෛරපි යාජිතස්තදාऽසෞ ॥9॥
Meaning
මුනි-වර-නිවහෛඃ- - by the great sages groups; තව-අථ පිත්රා - Thy then father; දුරිත-ශමාය - for son's atonement; ශුභානි - auspicious rites; පෘච්ඡ්යමානෛඃ - were being asked; ත්වයි සති - Thou being there; කිම්-ඉදම්-ශුභ-අංතරෛඃ- - what this auspicious rite others; ඉති-උරු-හසිතෛඃ-අපි - thus loudly laughing also; යාජිතඃ-තදා-අසෞ - made to perform sacrifices then he (Vasudeva);
Translation
Vasudeva asked the assembly of the great sages about the auspicious rites to be performed for the atonement for the sins. Even though the sages were very amused and laughed at such an enquiry, because having Thee as a son there was no need for any atonements. But they made him perform the required rites all the same.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
සුමහති යජනේ විතායමානේ ප්රමුදිතමිත්රජනේ සහෛව ගෝපාඃ ।
යදුජනමහිතාස්ත්රිමාසමාත්රං භවදනුෂංගරසං පුරේව භේජු ඃ ॥10॥
Meaning
සුමහති යජනේ - during the very big sacrifice; විතායමානේ - which was being performed; ප්රමුදිත-මිත්ර-ජනේ - with the delighted friends; සහ-ඒව ගෝපාඃ - also along with the gopas; යදු-ජන-මහිතාඃ - by the Yaadavas honoured; ත්රි-මාස-මාත්රං - for three months; භවත්-අනුෂංග-රසං - Thy company's pleasure; පුරා-ඒව භේජුඃ - like the olden times enjoyed;
Translation
The very big sacrifice was performed which lasted for three months. During that time Thy friends and the gopas were honoured by the Yaadavas and they enjoyed Thy company's pleasure like in the olden days.
ශ්ලෝකඃ
ව්යපගමසමයේ සමේත්ය රාධාං දෘඪමුපගූහ්ය නිරීක්ෂ්ය වීතඛේදාම් ।
ප්රමුදිතහෘදයඃ පුරං ප්රයාතඃ පවනපුරේශ්වර පාහි මාං ගදේභ්යඃ ॥11॥
Meaning
ව්යපගම-සමයේ - at the departing time; සමේත්ය රාධාම් - approaching Raadhaa; දෘඪම්-උපගූහ්ය - tightly embracing; නිරීක්ෂ්ය වීත-ඛේදාම් - seeing (her) free from sorrow; ප්රමුදිත-හෘදයඃ - with a happy heart; පුරම්-ප්රයාතඃ - Thou went back (to Dwaarika); පවනපුරේශ්වර - O Lord of Guruvaayur!; පාහි මාං ගදේභ්යඃ - save me from ailments;
Translation
At the time of departing Thou approached Raadhaa. As Thou held her in a tight embrace Thou were happy to see her free from all sorrow of separation or otherwise. Thou returned to Dwaarikaa with a happy heart. O Lord of Guruvaayur! Save me from all ailments.
