ભૂય એવ મહાબાહો શઋણુ મે પરમં વચઃ ।

Meaning

Translation
Bhagavan Sri Krishna said: Listen again, O mighty-armed Arjuna. Because you are My dear friend, for your benefit I shall speak to you further, giving knowledge that is better than what I have already explained.

ન મે વિદુઃ સુરગણાઃ પ્રભવં ન મહર્ષયઃ ।
અહમાદિર્હિ દેવાનાં મહર્ષીણાં ચ સર્વશઃ ॥ 2 ॥
Meaning

Translation
Neither the hosts of demigods nor the great sages know My origin or opulences, for, in every respect, I am the source of the demigods and sages.

યો મામજમનાદિં ચ વેત્તિ લોકમહેશ્વરમ્ ।
અસમ્મૂઢઃ સ મર્ત્યેષુ સર્વપાપૈઃ પ્રમુચ્યતે ॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
યઃ — anyone who; મામ્ — Me; અજમ્ — unborn; અનાદિમ્ — without beginning; ચ — also; વેત્તિ — knows; લોક — of the planets; મહા-ઈશ્વરમ્ — the supreme master; અસમ્મૂઢઃ — undeluded; સઃ — he; મર્ત્યેષુ — among those subject to death; સર્વ-પાપૈઃ — from all sinful reactions; પ્રમુચ્યતે — is delivered.
Translation
He who knows Me as the unborn, as the beginningless, as the Supreme Lord of all the worlds – he only, undeluded among men, is freed from all sins.

બુદ્ધિર્જ્ઞાનમસમ્મોહઃ ક્ષમા સત્યં દમઃ શમઃ ।
સુખં દુઃખં ભવોઽભાવો ભયં ચાભયમેવ ચ ॥ 4 ॥
અહિંસા સમતા તુષ્ટિસ્તપો દાનં યશોઽયશઃ ।
ભવંતિ ભાવા ભૂતાનાં મત્ત એવ પૃથગ્વિધાઃ ॥ 5 ॥

Translation
Intelligence, knowledge, freedom from doubt and delusion, forgiveness, truthfulness, control of the senses, control of the mind, happiness and distress, birth, death, fear, fearlessness, nonviolence, equanimity, satisfaction, austerity, charity, fame and infamy – all these various qualities of living beings are created by Me alone.
શ્લોકઃ
મહર્ષયઃ સપ્ત પૂર્વે ચત્વારો મનવસ્તથા ।
મદ્ભઆવા માનસા જાતા યેષાં લોક ઇમાઃ પ્રજાઃ ॥ 6 ॥
Meaning
મહા-ઋષયઃ — the great sages; સપ્ત — seven; પૂર્વે — before; ચત્વારઃ — four; મનવઃ — Manus; તથા — also; મત્-ભાવાઃ — born of Me; માનસાઃ — from the mind; જાતાઃ — born; યેષામ્ — of them; લોકે — in the world; ઇમાઃ — all this; પ્રજાઃ — population.
Translation
The seven great sages and before them the four other great sages and the Manus [progenitors of mankind] come from Me, born from My mind, and all the living beings populating the various planets descend from them.
શ્લોકઃ
એતાં વિભૂતિં યોગં ચ મમ યો વેત્તિ તત્ત્વતઃ ।
સોઽવિકલ્પેન યોગેન યુજ્યતે નાત્ર સંશયઃ ॥ 7 ॥
Meaning

Translation
One who is factually convinced of this opulence and mystic power of Mine engages in unalloyed devotional service; of this there is no doubt.

અહં સર્વસ્ય પ્રભવો મત્તઃ સર્વં પ્રવર્તતે ।
ઇતિ મત્વા ભજંતે માં બુધા ભાવસમન્વિતાઃ ॥ 8 ॥
Meaning

Translation
I am the source of all spiritual and material worlds. Everything emanates from Me. The wise who perfectly know this engage in My devotional service and worship Me with all their hearts.

મચ્ચિત્તા મદ્ગતપ્રાણા બોધયંતઃ પરસ્પરમ્ ।
કથયંતશ્ચ માં નિત્યં તુષ્યંતિ ચ રમંતિ ચ ॥ 9 ॥
Meaning

Translation
The thoughts of My pure devotees dwell in Me, their lives are fully devoted to My service, and they derive great satisfaction and bliss from always enlightening one another and conversing about Me.
શ્લોકઃ
તેષાં સતતયુક્તાનાં ભજતાં પ્રીતિપૂર્વકમ્ ।
દદામિ બુદ્ધિયોગં તં યેન મામુપયાંતિ તે ॥ 10 ॥
Meaning
તેષામ્ — unto them; સતત-યુક્તાનામ્ — always engaged; ભજતામ્ — in rendering devotional service; પ્રીતિ-પૂર્વકમ્ — in loving ecstasy; દદામિ — I give; બુદ્ધિ-યોગમ્ — real intelligence; તમ્ — that; યેન — by which; મામ્ — unto Me; ઉપયાંતિ — come; તે — they.
Translation
To those who are constantly devoted to serving Me with love, I give the understanding by which they can come to Me.

તેષામેવાનુકંપાર્થમહમજ્ઞાનજં તમઃ ।
નાશયામ્યાત્મભાવસ્થો જ્ઞાનદીપેન ભાસ્વતા ॥ 11 ॥
Meaning

Translation
To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.

Translation
Arjuna said: You are the ultimate abode, the purest, the Absolute Truth. You are the eternal, transcendental, original person, the unborn, the greatest. All the great sages such as Nārada, Asita, Devala and Vyāsa confirm this truth about You, and now You Yourself are declaring it to me.
શ્લોકઃ
સર્વમેતદૃતં મન્યે યન્માં વદસિ કેશવ ।
ન હિ તે ભગવન્વ્યક્તિં વિદુર્દેવા ન દાનવાઃ ॥ 14 ॥
Meaning

Translation
O Kriṣṇa, I totally accept as truth all that You have told me. Neither the demigods nor the demons, O Lord, can understand Your personality.

સ્વયમેવાત્મનાત્માનં વેત્થ ત્વં પુરુષોત્તમ ।
ભૂતભાવન ભૂતેશ દેવદેવ જગત્પતે ॥ 15 ॥
Meaning

Indeed, You alone know Yourself by Your own internal potency, O Supreme Person, origin of all, Lord of all beings, God of gods, Lord of the universe!

વક્તુમર્હસ્યશેષેણ દિવ્યા હ્યાત્મવિભૂતયઃ ।
યાભિર્વિભૂતિભિર્લોકાનિમાંસ્ત્વં વ્યાપ્ય તિષ્ઠસિ ॥ 16 ॥

વિસ્તરેણાત્મનો યોગં વિભૂતિં ચ જનાર્દન ।
ભૂયઃ કથય તૃપ્તિર્હિ શઋણ્વતો નાસ્તિ મેઽમૃતમ્ ॥ 18 ॥

અશ્વત્થઃ સર્વવૃક્ષાણાં દેવર્ષીણાં ચ નારદઃ ।
ગંધર્વાણાં ચિત્રરથઃ સિદ્ધાનાં કપિલો મુનિઃ ॥ 26 ॥

Of all trees I am the banyan tree, and of the sages among the demigods I am Nārada. Of the Gandharvas I am Citraratha, and among perfected beings I am the sage Kapila.

ઉચ્ચૈઃશ્રવસમશ્વાનાં વિદ્ધિ મામમૃતોદ્ભવમ્ ।
ઐરાવતં ગજેંદ્રાણાં નરાણાં ચ નરાધિપમ્ ॥ 27 ॥

Of horses know Me to be Uccaiḥśravā, produced during the churning of the ocean for nectar. Of lordly elephants I am Airāvata, and among men I am the monarch.

Translation
Among the Daitya demons I am the devoted Prahlāda, among subduers I am time, among beasts I am the lion, and among birds I am Garuḍa.

પવનઃ પવતામસ્મિ રામઃ શસ્ત્રભૃતામહમ્ ।
ઝષાણાં મકરશ્ચાસ્મિ સ્રોતસામસ્મિ જાહ્નવી ॥ 31 ॥
Meaning

Translation
Of purifiers I am the wind, of the wielders of weapons I am Rāma, of fishes I am the shark, and of flowing rivers I am the Ganges.

Translation
Of all creations I am the beginning and the end and also the middle, O Arjuna. Of all sciences I am the spiritual science of the self, and among logicians I am the conclusive truth.

Translation
Of letters I am the letter A, and among compound words I am the dual compound. I am also inexhaustible time, and of creators I am Brahmā.

Translation
Of the hymns in the Sāma Veda I am the Brihat-sāma, and of poetry I am the Gāyatrī. Of months I am Mārgaśīrṣa [November-December], and of seasons I am flower-bearing spring.

Among all means of suppressing lawlessness I am punishment, and of those who seek victory I am morality. Of secret things I am silence, and of the wise I am the wisdom.

ન તદસ્તિ વિના યત્સ્યાન્મયા ભૂતં ચરાચરમ્ ॥ 39 ॥

Translation
Furthermore, O Arjuna, I am the generating seed of all existences. There is no being – moving or nonmoving – that can exist without Me.

નાંતોઽસ્તિ મમ દિવ્યાનાં વિભૂતીનાં પરંતપ ।
એષ તૂદ્દેશતઃ પ્રોક્તો વિભૂતેર્વિસ્તરો મયા ॥ 40 ॥
Meaning

O mighty conqueror of enemies, there is no end to My divine manifestations. What I have spoken to you is but a mere indication of My infinite opulences.

તત્તદેવાવગચ્છ ત્વં મમ તેજોઽશસંભવમ્ ॥ 41 ॥
Meaning

Translation
Know that all opulent, beautiful and glorious creations spring from but a spark of My splendor.

અથવા બહુનૈતેન કિં જ્ઞાતેન તવાર્જુન ।
વિષ્ટભ્યાહમિદં કૃત્સ્નમેકાંશેન સ્થિતો જગત્ ॥ 42 ॥
Meaning
અથ વા — or; બહુના — many; એતેન — by this kind; કિમ્ — what; જ્ઞાતેન — by knowing; તવ — your; અર્જુન — O Arjuna; વિષ્ટભ્ય — pervading; અહમ્ — I; ઇદમ્ — this; કૃત્સ્નમ્ — entire; એક — by one; અંશેન — part; સ્થિતઃ — am situated; જગત્ — universe.
Translation
But what need is there, Arjuna, for all this detailed knowledge? With a single fragment of Myself I pervade and support this entire universe.
