શ્લોકઃ
ઇતિ ત્વયિ રસાકુલં રમિતવલ્લભે વલ્લવાઃ
કદાપિ પુરમંબિકામિતુરંબિકાકાનને ।
સમેત્ય ભવતા સમં નિશિ નિષેવ્ય દિવ્યોત્સવં
સુખં સુષુપુરગ્રસીદ્વ્રજપમુગ્રનાગસ્તદા ॥1॥

Meaning
ઇતિ ત્વયિ - in this manner (when) Thou; રસ-આકુલં - in bliss immersed; રમિત-વલ્લભે - were entertaining the Gopikaas; વલ્લવાઃ કદાપિ - (at that time) the Gopas once; પુરમ્-અંબિકા-કમિતુઃ- - (to) the temple of Ambikaa's husband (Shiva); અંબિકા-કાનને - in the Ambika (named) forest; સમેત્ય ભવતા સમં - going along with Thee; નિશિ નિષેવ્ય - in the night having performed; દિવ્ય-ઉત્સવં - the divine festival; સુખં સુષુપુઃ- - happily slept; અગ્રસીત્-વ્રજપમ્- - swallowed Nanda Gopa; ઉગ્રનાગઃ-તદા - a fierce snake then;

Translation
In this manner, as Thou were entertaining the Gopikaas and they were immersed in bliss, the Gopas went to the temple of Lord Shiva, Ambikaa's (Paarvati's) husband. Thou went along with them to the temple which was in the forest named Ambikaa. After the divine festival had been performed, they all slept happily in the night. Then a fierce snake swallowed Nanda Gopa.

શ્લોકઃ
સમુન્મુખમથોલ્મુકૈરભિહતેઽપિ તસ્મિન્ બલા-
દમુંચતિ ભવત્પદે ન્યપતિ પાહિ પાહીતિ તૈઃ ।
તદા ખલુ પદા ભવાન્ સમુપગમ્ય પસ્પર્શ તં
બભૌ સ ચ નિજાં તનું સમુપસાદ્ય વૈદ્યધરીમ્ ॥2॥

Meaning
સમુન્મુખમ્- - who was looking up; અથ-ઉલ્મુકૈઃ- - then with burning logs of wood; અભિહતે-અપિ-તસ્મિન્ - being thrashed even, he; બલાત્-અમુંચતિ - from his hold did not release; ભવત્-પદે ન્યપતિ - on Thy feet fell (the Gopas); પાહિ પાહિ-ઇતિ તૈઃ - save save, thus by them (was said); તદા ખલુ - then indeed; પદા ભવાન્ - by foot Thou; સમુપગમ્ય - going near; પસ્પર્શ તં - touched him; બભૌ સ ચ - became he and; નિજાં તનું - his own body; સમુપસાદ્ય - attaining; વૈદ્યધરીમ્ - Vidyaadharee (form);

Translation
The fierce snake was looking up. In spite of being thrashed with burning logs of wood, it did not loose hold of his prey. The Gopas fell on Thy feet and prayed for protection. Then indeed Thou went near and touched him with Thy foot, and he became his own body and attained the former form of Vidyaadharee.

શ્લોકઃ
સુદર્શનધર પ્રભો નનુ સુદર્શનાખ્યોઽસ્મ્યહં
મુનીન્ ક્વચિદપાહસં ત ઇહ માં વ્યધુર્વાહસમ્ ।
ભવત્પદસમર્પણાદમલતાં ગતોઽસ્મીત્યસૌ
સ્તુવન્ નિજપદં યયૌ વ્રજપદં ચ ગોપા મુદા ॥3॥

Meaning
સુદર્શનધર પ્રભો - Wielder of Sudarshana, O Lord!; નનુ સુદર્શન-આખ્યઃ- - indeed Sudarshana named; અસ્મિ-અહં - am I; મુનીન્ ક્વચિત્- - the sages once; અપાહસં - (I) ridiculed; તે-ઇહ માં - they here me; વ્યધુઃ-વાહસમ્ - made a python; ભવત્-પદ- - Thy feet; સમર્પણાત્- - by contact; અમલતાં ગતઃ-અસ્મિ - purification reached (have) I; ઇતિ-અસૌ સ્તુવન્ - thus he praising; નિજપદં યયૌ - (to) his own abode went; વ્રજપદં ચ - and to Vraja; ગોપા મુદા - the Gopas (went) happily;

Translation
O Lord! Wielder of Sudarshana! I am Sudarshana by name. Having sinned the sages for ridiculing them, they cursed me to remain here as a python. I have reached purification by the touch of Thy feet.' Thus praising Thee, he went back to his abode, while the Gopas also happily returned to Vraja.

શ્લોકઃ
કદાપિ ખલુ સીરિણા વિહરતિ ત્વયિ સ્ત્રીજનૈ-
ર્જહાર ધનદાનુગઃ સ કિલ શંખચૂડોઽબલાઃ ।
અતિદ્રુતમનુદ્રુતસ્તમથ મુક્તનારીજનં
રુરોજિથ શિરોમણિં હલભૃતે ચ તસ્યાદદાઃ ॥4॥

Meaning
કદાપિ ખલુ - once indeed; સીરિણા વિહરતિ - with Balaraam strolling about; ત્વયિ સ્ત્રીજનૈઃ- - when Thou were (and) with the women folk; જહાર ધનદ-અનુગઃ - kidnapped, Kuber's emissary; સ કિલ - he indeed; શંખચૂડઃ- - Shankhachooda; અબલાઃ - the women; અતિદ્રુતમ્- - very hastily; અનુદ્રુતઃ-તમ્-અથ - (Thou) pursuing him, then; મુક્ત-નારી-જનમ્ - releasing the women folk; રુરોજિથ - (Thou) killed him; શિરોમણિમ્ - (and) the crest pearl; હલભૃતે ચ - to Balaraam and; તસ્ય-અદદાઃ - his (Shankhacooda's) gave;

Translation
Once indeed in Balaraam's company and with the women folk Thou were strolling about. Shankhachooda, an emissary of Kubera, kidnapped the women. Thou hastily pursued him and killed him and liberated the women. Thou gave the crest pearl of Shankhachooda to Thy brother Balaraam.

શ્લોકઃ
દિનેષુ ચ સુહૃજ્જનૈસ્સહ વનેષુ લીલાપરં
મનોભવમનોહરં રસિતવેણુનાદામૃતમ્ ।
ભવંતમમરીદૃશામમૃતપારણાદાયિનં
વિચિંત્ય કિમુ નાલપન્ વિરહતાપિતા ગોપિકાઃ ॥5॥

Meaning
દિનેષુ ચ - and all during the day; સુહૃત્-જનૈઃ-સહ - with the friends; વનેષુ લીલાપરં - in the forest engaged in play; મનોભવ-મનોહરં - enchanting Cupid; રસિત-વેણુ- - lusciously, the flute's; નાદ-અમૃતમ્ - notes flowing like nectar; ભવંતમ્- - Thee; અમરી-દૃશામ્- - to the celestial damsels' sight; અમૃત-પારણા-દાયિનં - nectar drink giving; વિચિંત્ય - thinking about (all this); કિમુ ન-આલપન્ - what all did not lament; વિરહ-તાપિતા - separation pangs suffering; ગોપિકાઃ - the Gopikaas;

Translation
During the day Thou were engaged in play with friends in the forest. Enchanting even Cupid, Thou played the flute with luscious notes flowing like nectar. Thy sight was like a drink of nectar to the eyes of the celestial damsels. Thinking about all this the Gopikaas suffered pangs of separation and what all lamentations did they not give in to.

શ્લોકઃ
ભોજરાજભૃતકસ્ત્વથ કશ્ચિત્ કષ્ટદુષ્ટપથદૃષ્ટિરરિષ્ટઃ ।
નિષ્ઠુરાકૃતિરપષ્ઠુનિનાદસ્તિષ્ઠતે સ્મ ભવતે વૃષરૂપી ॥6॥

Meaning
ભોજરાજ-ભૃતકઃ- - Kamsaa's emissary; તુ-અથ કશ્ચિત્ - then some one; કષ્ટ-દુષ્ટ- - cruel and evil; પથ-દૃષ્ટિઃ-અરિષ્ટઃ - ways looking for, (named) Arishta; નિષ્ઠુર-આકૃતિઃ- - terrific in appearance; અપષ્ઠુ-નિનાદઃ- - (and) horrible bellowings; તિષ્ઠતે સ્મ ભવતે - stood before Thee; વૃષરૂપી - in the form of a bull;

Translation
Once, some emissary of Kansa, always looking for ways to do cruel and evil deeds, Arishta by name, terrific in appearance, bellowing horribly, in the form of a bull stood before Thee.

શ્લોકઃ
શાક્વરોઽથ જગતીધૃતિહારી મૂર્તિમેષ બૃહતીં પ્રદધાનઃ ।
પંક્તિમાશુ પરિઘૂર્ણ્ય પશૂનાં છંદસાં નિધિમવાપ ભવંતમ્ ॥7॥

Meaning
શાક્વરઃ-અથ - (this) bull then; જગતી-ધૃતિ-હારી - (who was) the world's peace plunderer; મૂર્તિમ્-એષ - in a form, he; બૃહતીં પ્રદધાનઃ - (which was) huge assumed; પંક્તિમ્-આશુ - the herd soon; પરિઘૂર્ણ્ય - driving away; પશૂનાં - of the cows; છંદસાં નિધિમ્- - of the Veda's repository (Thee); અવાપ ભવંતમ્ - approached Thee;

Translation
Then this bull who was the plunderer of the peace of the world, he assumed a form which was huge and driving away the herds of cows, soon approached Thee who are repository of Vedas.

શ્લોકઃ
તુંગશૃંગમુખમાશ્વભિયંતં સંગૃહય્ય રભસાદભિયં તમ્ ।
ભદ્રરૂપમપિ દૈત્યમભદ્રં મર્દયન્નમદયઃ સુરલોકમ્ ॥8॥

Meaning
તુંગ-શૃંગ-મુખમ્- - raising the horns and head; આશુ-અભિયંતં - hastily rushing; સંગૃહય્ય રભસાત્- - catching swiftly; અભિયં તમ્ - fearlessly, him; ભદ્ર-રૂપમ્-અપિ - (who was) in an auspicious form, though; દૈત્યમ્-અભદ્રમ્ - (he was) an Asura inauspicious; મર્દયન્-અમદયઃ - killing, (Thou) delighted; સુરલોકમ્ - the gods;

Translation
Raising his horns and head he was rushing hastily towards Thee. Thou caught hold of him swiftly and fearlessly who was an inauspicious Asura, though he was in an auspicious form of a bull. Thou then crushed him to death and so delighted the gods.

શ્લોકઃ
ચિત્રમદ્ય ભગવન્ વૃષઘાતાત્ સુસ્થિરાઽજનિ વૃષસ્થિતિરુર્વ્યામ્ ।
વર્ધતે ચ વૃષચેતસિ ભૂયાન્ મોદ ઇત્યભિનુતોઽસિ સુરૈસ્ત્વમ્ ॥9॥

Meaning
ચિત્રમ્-અદ્ય - surprisingly now (today); ભગવન્ - O Lord!; વૃષ-ઘાતાત્ - by the bull's killing; સુસ્થિરા-અજનિ - very firm has become; વૃષ-સ્થિતિઃ- - the righteousness (Dharma's) status; ઉર્વ્યામ્ - on the earth; વર્ધતે ચ - and is increasing; વૃષ-ચેતસિ - in Indra's mind; ભૂયાન્ મોદ - great joy; ઇતિ-અભિનુતઃ-અસિ - thus praised were; સુરૈઃ-ત્વમ્ - by the gods Thou;

Translation
"O Lord! It is amazing that today by the killing of the bull, the status of righteousness (Dharma) is strengthened on the earth. The great joy in Indra's mind is also enhanced." Thus Thou were praised by the gods.

શ્લોકઃ
ઔક્ષકાણિ પરિધાવત દૂરં વીક્ષ્યતામયમિહોક્ષવિભેદી ।
ઇત્થમાત્તહસિતૈઃ સહ ગોપૈર્ગેહગસ્ત્વમવ વાતપુરેશ ॥10॥

Meaning
ઔક્ષકાણિ - O bulls; પરિધાવત દૂરં - run away far; વીક્ષ્યતામ્- - see; અયમ્-ઇહ- - this here; ઉક્ષવિભેદી - the bull slayer; ઇત્થમ્-આત્ત-હસિતૈઃ - thus making jokes; સહ ગોપૈઃ- - with the Gopas; ગેહગઃ-ત્વમ્- - went home Thou; અવ વાતપુરેશ - save me O Lord of Guruvaayur;

Translation
O bulls! Run far away. See here is this slayer of bulls.' Thou went home with the Gopas who were joking in this manner. O Lord of Guruvaayur! Save me.
