ஶ்ரீப⁴க³வானுவாச
மய்யாஸக்தமனா: பார்த² யோக³ம் யுஞ்ஜன்மதா³ஶ்ரய: ।
அஸம்ஶயம் ஸமக்³ரம் மாம் யதா² ஜ்ஞாஸ்யஸி தச்ச்²ருணு ॥ 1 ॥
Meaning
ஶ்ரீ-ப⁴க³வான் உவாச — the Supreme Lord said; மயி — to Me; ஆஸக்த-மனா: — mind attached; பார்த² — O son of Prithā; யோக³ம் — self-realization; யுஞ்ஜன் — practicing; மத்-ஆஶ்ரய: — in consciousness of Me (Kriṣṇa consciousness); அஸம்ஶயம் — without doubt; ஸமக்³ரம் — completely; மாம் — Me; யதா² — how; ஜ்ஞாஸ்யஸி — you can know; தத் — that; ஶ்ருணு — try to hear.
Translation
Sri Krishna said: Now hear, O son of Prithā, how by practicing yoga with the mind fixed on Me and taking refuge in Me, you shall know Me completely, without any doubt.
ஶ்லோக:
ஜ்ஞானம் தேஹம் ஸவிஜ்ஞானமித³ம் வக்ஷ்யாம்யஶேஷத: ।
யஜ்ஜ்ஞாத்வா நேஹ பூ⁴யோன்யஜ்ஜ்ஞாதவ்யமவஶிஷ்யதே ॥ 2 ॥
Meaning
ஜ்ஞானம் — phenomenal knowledge; தே — unto you; அஹம் — I; ஸ — with; விஜ்ஞானம் — numinous knowledge; இத³ம் — this; வக்ஷ்யாமி — shall explain; அஶேஷத: — in full; யத் — which; ஜ்ஞாத்வா — knowing; ந — not; இஹ — in this world; பூ⁴ய: — further; அன்யத் — anything more; ஜ்ஞாதவ்யம் — knowable; அவஶிஷ்யதே — remains.
Translation
I shall tell you fully about knowledge and realization, that nothing further remains to be known in this world.
ஶ்லோக:
மனுஷ்யாணாம் ஸஹஸ்ரேஷு கஶ்சித்³யததி ஸித்³த⁴யே ।
யததாமபி ஸித்³தா⁴னாம் கஶ்சின்மாம் வேத்தி தத்த்வத: ॥ 3 ॥
Meaning
மனுஷ்யாணாம் — of men; ஸஹஸ்ரேஷு — out of many thousands; கஶ்சித் — someone; யததி — endeavors; ஸித்³த⁴யே — for perfection; யததாம் — of those so endeavoring; அபி — indeed; ஸித்³தா⁴னாம் — of those who have achieved perfection; கஶ்சித் — someone; மாம் — Me; வேத்தி — does know; தத்த்வத: — in fact.
Translation
Out of many thousands among men, one may endeavor for perfection, and of those who have achieved perfection, hardly one knows Me in truth.
ஶ்லோக:
பூ⁴மிராபோனலோ வாயு: க²ம் மனோ பு³த்³தி⁴ரேவ ச ।
அஹங்கார இதீயம் மே பி⁴ன்னா ப்ரக்ருதிரஷ்டதா⁴ ॥ 4 ॥
Meaning
பூ⁴மி: — earth; ஆப: — water; அனல: — fire; வாயு: — air; க²ம் — ether; மன: — mind; பு³த்³தி⁴: — intelligence; ஏவ — certainly; ச — and; அஹங்கார: — false ego; இதி — thus; இயம் — all these; மே — My; பி⁴ன்னா — separated; ப்ரக்ருதி: — energies; அஷ்டதா⁴ — eightfold.
Translation
Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego – all together these eight constitute My separated material energies.
ஶ்லோக:
அபரேயமிதஸ்த்வன்யாம் ப்ரக்ருதிம் வித்³தி⁴ மே பராம் ।
ஜீவபூ⁴தாம் மஹாபா³ஹோ யயேத³ம் தா⁴ர்யதே ஜக³த் ॥ 5 ॥
Meaning
அபரா — inferior; இயம் — this; இத: — besides this; து — but; அன்யாம் — another; ப்ரக்ருதிம் — energy; வித்³தி⁴ — just try to understand; மே — My; பராம் — superior; ஜீவ-பூ⁴தாம் — comprising the living entities; மஹா-பா³ஹோ — O mighty-armed one; யயா — by whom; இத³ம் — this; தா⁴ர்யதே — is utilized or exploited; ஜக³த் — the material world.
Translation
Besides these, O mighty-armed Arjuna, there is another, superior energy of Mine, which comprises the living entities who are exploiting the resources of this material, inferior nature.
ஶ்லோக:
ஏதத்³யோனீனி பூ⁴தானி ஸர்வாணீத்யுபதா⁴ரய ।
அஹம் க்ருத்ஸ்னஸ்ய ஜக³த: ப்ரப⁴வ: ப்ரலயஸ்ததா² ॥ 6 ॥
Meaning
ஏதத் — these two natures; யோனீனி — whose source of birth; பூ⁴தானி — everything created; ஸர்வாணி — all; இதி — thus; உபதா⁴ரய — know; அஹம் — I; க்ருத்ஸ்னஸ்ய — all-inclusive; ஜக³த: — of the world; ப்ரப⁴வ: — the source of manifestation; ப்ரலய: — annihilation; ததா² — as well as.
Translation
All created beings have their source in these two natures. Of all that is material and all that is spiritual in this world, know for certain that I am both the origin and the dissolution.
ஶ்லோக:
மத்த: பரதரம் நான்யத்கிஞ்சித³ஸ்தி த⁴னஞ்ஜய ।
மயி ஸர்வமித³ம் ப்ரோதம் ஸூத்ரே மணிக³ணா இவ ॥ 7 ॥
Meaning
மத்த: — beyond Me; பர-தரம் — superior; ந — not; அன்யத் கிஞ்சித் — anything else; அஸ்தி — there is; த⁴னம்-ஜய — O conqueror of wealth; மயி — in Me; ஸர்வம் — all that be; இத³ம் — which we see; ப்ரோதம் — is strung; ஸூத்ரே — on a thread; மணி-க³ணா: — pearls; இவ — like.
Translation
O conqueror of wealth, there is no truth superior to Me. Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread.
ஶ்லோக:
ரஸோஹமப்ஸு கௌந்தேய ப்ரபா⁴ஸ்மி ஶஶிஸூர்யயோ: ।
ப்ரணவ: ஸர்வவேதே³ஷு ஶப்³த:³ கே² பௌருஷம் ந்ருஷு ॥ 8 ॥
Meaning
ரஸ: — taste; அஹம் — I; அப்ஸு — in water; கௌந்தேய — O son of Kuntī; ப்ரபா⁴ — the light; அஸ்மி — I am; ஶஶி-ஸூர்யயோ: — of the moon and the sun; ப்ரணவ: — the three letters a-u-m; ஸர்வ — in all; வேதே³ஷு — the Vedas; ஶப்³த:³ — sound vibration; கே² — in the ether; பௌருஷம் — ability; ந்ருஷு — in men.
Translation
O son of Kuntī, I am the taste of water, the light of the sun and the moon, the syllable oM in the Vedic mantras; I am the sound in ether and ability in man.
ஶ்லோக:
புண்யோ க³ந்த:⁴ ப்ருதி²வ்யாம் ச தேஜஶ்சாஸ்மி விபா⁴வஸௌ ।
ஜீவனம் ஸர்வபூ⁴தேஷு தபஶ்சாஸ்மி தபஸ்விஷு ॥ 9 ॥
Meaning
புண்ய: — original; க³ந்த:⁴ — fragrance; ப்ருதி²வ்யாம் — in the earth; ச — also; தேஜ: — heat; ச — also; அஸ்மி — I am; விபா⁴வஸௌ — in the fire; ஜீவனம் — life; ஸர்வ — in all; பூ⁴தேஷு — living entities; தப: — penance; ச — also; அஸ்மி — I am; தபஸ்விஷு — in those who practice penance.
Translation
I am the original fragrance of the earth, and I am the heat in fire. I am the life of all that lives, and I am the penances of all ascetics.
ஶ்லோக:
பீ³ஜம் மாம் ஸர்வபூ⁴தானாம் வித்³தி⁴ பார்த² ஸனாதனம் ।
பு³த்³தி⁴ர்பு³த்³தி⁴மதாமஸ்மி தேஜஸ்தேஜஸ்வினாமஹம் ॥ 1௦ ॥
Meaning
பீ³ஜம் — the seed; மாம் — Me; ஸர்வ-பூ⁴தானாம் — of all living entities; வித்³தி⁴ — try to understand; பார்த² — O son of Prithā; ஸனாதனம் — original, eternal; பு³த்³தி⁴: — intelligence; பு³த்³தி⁴-மதாம் — of the intelligent; அஸ்மி — I am; தேஜ: — prowess; தேஜஸ்வினாம் — of the powerful; அஹம் — I am.
Translation
O son of Prithā, know that I am the original seed of all existences, the intelligence of the intelligent, and the prowess of all powerful men.
ஶ்லோக:
ப³லம் ப³லவதாம் சாஹம் காமராக³விவர்ஜிதம் ।
த⁴ர்மாவிருத்³தோ⁴ பூ⁴தேஷு காமோஸ்மி ப⁴ரதர்ஷப⁴ ॥ 11 ॥
Meaning
ப³லம் — strength; ப³ல-வதாம் — of the strong; ச — and; அஹம் — I am; காம — passion; ராக³ — and attachment; விவர்ஜிதம் — devoid of; த⁴ர்ம-அவிருத்³த:⁴ — not against religious principles; பூ⁴தேஷு — in all beings; காம: — sex life; அஸ்மி — I am; ப⁴ரத-ருஷப⁴ — O lord of the Bhāratas.
Translation
I am the strength of the strong, devoid of passion and desire. I am sex life which is not contrary to religious principles, O lord of the Bhāratas [Arjuna].
ஶ்லோக:
யே சைவ ஸாத்த்விகா பா⁴வா ராஜஸாஸ்தாமஸாஶ்ச யே ।
மத்த ஏவேதி தான்வித்³தி⁴ ந த்வஹம் தேஷு தே மயி ॥ 12 ॥
Meaning
யே — all which; ச — and; ஏவ — certainly; ஸாத்த்விகா: — in goodness; பா⁴வா: — states of being; ராஜஸா: — in the mode of passion; தாமஸா: — in the mode of ignorance; ச — also; யே — all which; மத்த: — from Me; ஏவ — certainly; இதி — thus; தான் — those; வித்³தி⁴ — try to know; ந — not; து — but; அஹம் — I; தேஷு — in them; தே — they; மயி — in Me.
Translation
Know that all states of being – be they of goodness, passion or ignorance – are manifested by My energy. I am, in one sense, everything, but I am independent. I am not under the modes of material nature, for they, on the contrary, are within Me.
ஶ்லோக:
த்ரிபி⁴ர்கு³ணமயைர்பா⁴வைரேபி⁴: ஸர்வமித³ம் ஜக³த் ।
மோஹிதம் நாபி⁴ஜானாதி மாமேப்⁴ய: பரமவ்யயம் ॥ 13 ॥
Meaning
த்ரிபி⁴: — three; கு³ண-மயை: — consisting of the guṇas; பா⁴வை: — by the states of being; ஏபி⁴: — all these; ஸர்வம் — whole; இத³ம் — this; ஜக³த் — universe; மோஹிதம் — deluded; ந அபி⁴ஜானாதி — does not know; மாம் — Me; ஏப்⁴ய: — above these; பரம் — the Supreme; அவ்யயம் — inexhaustible.
Translation
Deluded by the three modes [goodness, passion and ignorance], the whole world does not know Me, who am above the modes and inexhaustible.
ஶ்லோக:
தை³வீ ஹ்யேஷா கு³ணமயீ மம மாயா து³ரத்யயா ।
மாமேவ யே ப்ரபத்³யந்தே மாயாமேதாம் தரந்தி தே ॥ 14 ॥
Meaning
தை³வீ — transcendental; ஹி — certainly; ஏஷா — this; கு³ண-மயீ — consisting of the three modes of material nature; மம — My; மாயா — energy; து³ரத்யயா — very difficult to overcome; மாம் — unto Me; ஏவ — certainly; யே — those who; ப்ரபத்³யந்தே — surrender; மாயாம் ஏதாம் — this illusory energy; தரந்தி — overcome; தே — they.
Translation
This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it.
ஶ்லோக:
ந மாம் து³ஷ்க்ருதினோ மூடா⁴: ப்ரபத்³யந்தே நராத⁴மா: ।
மாயயாபஹ்ருதஜ்ஞானா ஆஸுரம் பா⁴வமாஶ்ரிதா: ॥ 15 ॥
Meaning
ந — not; மாம் — unto Me; து³ஷ்க்ருதின: — miscreants; மூடா⁴: — foolish; ப்ரபத்³யந்தே — surrender; நர-அத⁴மா: — lowest among mankind; மாயயா — by the illusory energy; அபஹ்ருத — stolen; ஜ்ஞானா: — whose knowledge; ஆஸுரம் — demonic; பா⁴வம் — nature; ஆஶ்ரிதா: — accepting.
Translation
Those miscreants who are grossly foolish, who are lowest among mankind, whose knowledge is stolen by illusion, and who partake of the atheistic nature of demons do not surrender unto Me.
ஶ்லோக:
சதுர்விதா⁴ பஜ⁴ந்தே மாம் ஜனா: ஸுக்ருதினோர்ஜுன ।
ஆர்தோ ஜிஜ்ஞாஸுரர்தா²ர்தீ² ஜ்ஞானீ ச ப⁴ரதர்ஷப⁴ ॥ 16 ॥
Meaning
சது:-விதா⁴: — four kinds of; பஜ⁴ந்தே — render services; மாம் — unto Me; ஜனா: — persons; ஸு-க்ருதின: — those who are pious; அர்ஜுன — O Arjuna; ஆர்த: — the distressed; ஜிஜ்ஞாஸு: — the inquisitive; அர்த-²அர்தீ² — one who desires material gain; ஜ்ஞானீ — one who knows things as they are; ச — also; ப⁴ரத-ருஷப⁴ — O great one amongst the descendants of Bharata.
Translation
O best among the Bhāratas, four kinds of pious men begin to render devotional service unto Me – the distressed, the desirer of wealth, the inquisitive, and he who is searching for knowledge of the Absolute.
ஶ்லோக:
தேஷாம் ஜ்ஞானீ நித்யயுக்த ஏகப⁴க்திர்விஶிஷ்யதே ।
ப்ரியோ ஹி ஜ்ஞானினோத்யர்த²மஹம் ஸ ச மம ப்ரிய: ॥ 17 ॥
Meaning
தேஷாம் — out of them; ஜ்ஞானீ — one in full knowledge; நித்ய-யுக்த: — always engaged; ஏக — only; ப⁴க்தி: — in devotional service; விஶிஷ்யதே — is special; ப்ரிய: — very dear; ஹி — certainly; ஜ்ஞானின: — to the person in knowledge; அத்யர்த²ம் — highly; அஹம் — I am; ஸ: — he; ச — also; மம — to Me; ப்ரிய: — dear.
Translation
Of these, the one who is in full knowledge and who is always engaged in pure devotional service is the best. For I am very dear to him, and he is dear to Me.
ஶ்லோக:
உதா³ரா: ஸர்வ ஏவைதே ஜ்ஞானீ த்வாத்மைவ மே மதம் ।
ஆஸ்தி²த: ஸ ஹி யுக்தாத்மா மாமேவானுத்தமாம் க³திம் ॥ 18 ॥
Meaning
உதா³ரா: — magnanimous; ஸர்வே — all; ஏவ — certainly; ஏதே — these; ஜ்ஞானீ — one who is in knowledge; து — but; ஆத்மா ஏவ — just like Myself; மே — My; மதம் — opinion; ஆஸ்தி²த: — situated; ஸ: — he; ஹி — certainly; யுக்த-ஆத்மா — engaged in devotional service; மாம் — in Me; ஏவ — certainly; அனுத்தமாம் — the highest; க³திம் — destination.
Translation
All these devotees are undoubtedly magnanimous souls, but he who is situated in knowledge of Me I consider to be just like My own self. Being engaged in My transcendental service, he is sure to attain Me, the highest and most perfect goal.
ஶ்லோக:
ப³ஹூனாம் ஜன்மனாமந்தே ஜ்ஞானவான்மாம் ப்ரபத்³யதே ।
வாஸுதே³வ: ஸர்வமிதி ஸ மஹாத்மா ஸுது³ர்லப:⁴ ॥ 19 ॥
Meaning
ப³ஹூனாம் — many; ஜன்மனாம் — repeated births and deaths; அந்தே — after; ஜ்ஞான-வான் — one who is in full knowledge; மாம் — unto Me; ப்ரபத்³யதே — surrenders; வாஸுதே³வ: — the Personality of Godhead, Kriṣṇa; ஸர்வம் — everything; இதி — thus; ஸ: — that; மஹா-ஆத்மா — great soul; ஸு-து³ர்லப:⁴ — very rare to see.
Translation
After many births and deaths, he who is actually in knowledge surrenders unto Me, knowing Me to be the cause of all causes and all that is. Such a great soul is very rare.
ஶ்லோக:
காமைஸ்தைஸ்தைர்ஹ்ருதஜ்ஞானா: ப்ரபத்³யந்தேன்யதே³வதா: ।
தம் தம் நியமமாஸ்தா²ய ப்ரக்ருத்யா நியதா: ஸ்வயா ॥ 2௦ ॥
Meaning
காமை: — by desires; தை: தை: — various; ஹ்ருத — deprived of; ஜ்ஞானா: — knowledge; ப்ரபத்³யந்தே — surrender; அன்ய — to other; தே³வதா: — demigods; தம் தம் — corresponding; நியமம் — regulations; ஆஸ்தா²ய — following; ப்ரக்ருத்யா — by nature; நியதா: — controlled; ஸ்வயா — by their own.
Translation
Those whose intelligence has been stolen by material desires surrender unto demigods and follow the particular rules and regulations of worship according to their own natures.
ஶ்லோக:
யோ யோ யாம் யாம் தனும் ப⁴க்த: ஶ்ரத்³த⁴யார்சிதுமிச்ச²தி ।
தஸ்ய தஸ்யாசலாம் ஶ்ரத்³தா⁴ம் தாமேவ வித³தா⁴ம்யஹம் ॥ 21 ॥
Meaning
ய: ய: — whoever; யாம் யாம் — whichever; தனும் — form of a demigod; ப⁴க்த: — devotee; ஶ்ரத்³த⁴யா — with faith; அர்சிதும் — to worship; இச்சதி — desires; தஸ்ய தஸ்ய — to him; அசலாம் — steady; ஶ்ரத்³தா⁴ம் — faith; தாம் — that; ஏவ — surely; வித³தா⁴மி — give; அஹம் — I.
Translation
I am in everyone’s heart as the Supersoul. As soon as one desires to worship some demigod, I make his faith steady so that he can devote himself to that particular deity.
ஶ்லோக:
ஸ தயா ஶ்ரத்³த⁴யா யுக்தஸ்தஸ்யாராத⁴னமீஹதே ।
லப⁴தே ச தத: காமான்மயைவ விஹிதான்ஹி தான் ॥ 22 ॥
Meaning
ஸ: — he; தயா — with that; ஶ்ரத்³த⁴யா — inspiration; யுக்த: — endowed; தஸ்ய — of that demigod; ஆராத⁴னம் — for the worship; ஈஹதே — he aspires; லப⁴தே — obtains; ச — and; தத: — from that; காமான் — his desires; மயா — by Me; ஏவ — alone; விஹிதான் — arranged; ஹி — certainly; தான் — those.
Translation
Endowed with such a faith, he endeavors to worship a particular demigod and obtains his desires. But in actuality these benefits are bestowed by Me alone.
ஶ்லோக:
அந்தவத்து ப²லம் தேஷாம் தத்³ப⁴வத்யல்பமேத⁴ஸாம் ।
தே³வாந்தே³வயஜோ யாந்தி மத்³ப⁴க்தா யாந்தி மாமபி ॥ 23 ॥
Meaning
அந்த-வத் — perishable; து — but; ப²லம் — fruit; தேஷாம் — their; தத் — that; ப⁴வதி — becomes; அல்ப-மேத⁴ஸாம் — of those of small intelligence; தே³வான் — to the demigods; தே³வ-யஜ: — the worshipers of the demigods; யாந்தி — go; மத் — My; ப⁴க்தா: — devotees; யாந்தி — go; மாம் — to Me; அபி — also.
Translation
Men of small intelligence worship the demigods, and their fruits are limited and temporary. Those who worship the demigods go to the planets of the demigods, but My devotees ultimately reach My supreme planet.
ஶ்லோக:
அவ்யக்தம் வ்யக்திமாபன்னம் மன்யந்தே மாமபு³த்³த⁴ய: ।
பரம் பா⁴வமஜானந்தோ மமாவ்யயமனுத்தமம் ॥ 24 ॥
Meaning
அவ்யக்தம் — nonmanifested; வ்யக்திம் — personality; ஆபன்னம் — achieved; மன்யந்தே — think; மாம் — Me; அபு³த்³த⁴ய: — less intelligent persons; பரம் — supreme; பா⁴வம் — existence; அஜானந்த: — without knowing; மம — My; அவ்யயம் — imperishable; அனுத்தமம் — the finest.
Translation
Unintelligent men, who do not know Me perfectly, think that I, Bhagavan Sri Krishna, Kriṣṇa, was impersonal before and have now assumed this personality. Due to their small knowledge, they do not know My higher nature, which is imperishable and supreme.
ஶ்லோக:
நாஹம் ப்ரகாஶ: ஸர்வஸ்ய யோக³மாயாஸமாவ்ருத: ।
மூடோ⁴யம் நாபி⁴ஜானாதி லோகோ மாமஜமவ்யயம் ॥ 25 ॥
Meaning
ந — nor; அஹம் — I; ப்ரகாஶ: — manifest; ஸர்வஸ்ய — to everyone; யோக-³மாயா — by internal potency; ஸமாவ்ருத: — covered; மூட:⁴ — foolish; அயம் — these; ந — not; அபி⁴ஜானாதி — can understand; லோக: — persons; மாம் — Me; அஜம் — unborn; அவ்யயம் — inexhaustible.
Translation
I am never manifest to the foolish and unintelligent. For them I am covered by My internal potency, and therefore they do not know that I am unborn and infallible.
ஶ்லோக:
வேதா³ஹம் ஸமதீதானி வர்தமானானி சார்ஜுன ।
ப⁴விஷ்யாணி ச பூ⁴தானி மாம் து வேத³ ந கஶ்சன ॥ 26 ॥
Meaning
வேத³ — know; அஹம் — I; ஸமதீதானி — completely past; வர்தமானானி — present; ச — and; அர்ஜுன — O Arjuna; ப⁴விஷ்யாணி — future; ச — also; பூ⁴தானி — all living entities; மாம் — Me; து — but; வேத³ — knows; ந — not; கஶ்சன — anyone.
Translation
O Arjuna, as Bhagavan Sri Krishna, I know everything that has happened in the past, all that is happening in the present, and all things that are yet to come. I also know all living entities; but Me no one knows.
ஶ்லோக:
இச்சா²த்³வேஷஸமுத்தே²ன த்³வந்த்³வமோஹேன பா⁴ரத ।
ஸர்வபூ⁴தானி ஸம்மோஹம் ஸர்கே³ யாந்தி பரந்தப ॥ 27 ॥
Meaning
இச்சா — desire; த்³வேஷ — and hate; ஸமுத்தே²ன — arisen from; த்³வந்த்³வ — of duality; மோஹேன — by the illusion; பா⁴ரத — O scion of Bharata; ஸர்வ — all; பூ⁴தானி — living entities; ஸம்மோஹம் — into delusion; ஸர்கே³ — while taking birth; யாந்தி — go; பரம்-தப — O conqueror of enemies.
Translation
O scion of Bharata, O conqueror of the foe, all living entities are born into delusion, bewildered by dualities arisen from desire and hate.
ஶ்லோக:
யேஷாம் த்வந்தக³தம் பாபம் ஜனானாம் புண்யகர்மணாம் ।
தே த்³வந்த்³வமோஹனிர்முக்தா பஜ⁴ந்தே மாம் த்³ருட⁴வ்ரதா: ॥ 28 ॥

யேஷாம் — whose; து — but; அந்த-க³தம் — completely eradicated; பாபம் — sin; ஜனானாம் — of the persons; புண்ய — pious; கர்மணாம் — whose previous activities; தே — they; த்³வந்த்³வ — of duality; மோஹ — delusion; நிர்முக்தா: — free from; பஜ⁴ந்தே — engage in devotional service; மாம் — to Me; த்³ருட-⁴வ்ரதா: — with determination.
Translation
Persons who have acted piously in previous lives and in this life and whose sinful actions are completely eradicated are freed from the dualities of delusion, and they engage themselves in My service with determination.
ஶ்லோக:
ஜராமரணமோக்ஷாய மாமாஶ்ரித்ய யதந்தி யே ।
தே ப்³ரஹ்ம தத்³விது³: க்ருத்ஸ்னமத்⁴யாத்மம் கர்ம சாகி²லம் ॥ 29 ॥
Meaning
ஜரா — from old age; மரண — and death; மோக்ஷாய — for the purpose of liberation; மாம் — Me; ஆஶ்ரித்ய — taking shelter of; யதந்தி — endeavor; யே — all those who; தே — such persons; ப்³ரஹ்ம — Brahman; தத் — actually that; விது³: — they know; க்ருத்ஸ்னம் — everything; அத்⁴யாத்மம் — transcendental; கர்ம — activities; ச — also; அகி²லம் — entirely.
Translation
Intelligent persons who are endeavoring for liberation from old age and death take refuge in Me in devotional service. They are actually Brahman because they entirely know everything about transcendental activities.
ஶ்லோக:
ஸாதி⁴பூ⁴தாதி⁴தை³வம் மாம் ஸாதி⁴யஜ்ஞம் ச யே விது³: ।
ப்ரயாணகாலேபி ச மாம் தே விது³ர்யுக்தசேதஸ: ॥ 3௦ ॥
Meaning
ஸ-அதி⁴பூ⁴த — and the governing principle of the material manifestation; அதி⁴தை³வம் — governing all the demigods; மாம் — Me; ஸ-அதி⁴யஜ்ஞம் — and governing all sacrifices; ச — also; யே — those who; விது³: — know; ப்ரயாண — of death; காலே — at the time; அபி — even; ச — and; மாம் — Me; தே — they; விது³: — know; யுக்த-சேதஸ: — their minds engaged in Me.
Translation
Those in full consciousness of Me, who know Me, the Supreme Lord, to be the governing principle of the material manifestation, of the demigods, and of all methods of sacrifice, can understand and know Me, the Supreme Lord within me, even at the time of death.
