ஏவம் சதுர்த³ஶஜக³ன்மயதாம் க³தஸ்ய
பாதாலமீஶ தவ பாத³தலம் வத³ந்தி ।
பாதோ³ர்த்⁴வதே³ஶமபி தே³வ ரஸாதலம் தே
கு³ல்ப²த்³வயம் க²லு மஹாதலமத்³பு⁴தாத்மன் ॥1॥
Meaning
ஏவம் - in this manner; சதுர்த³ஶ-ஜக³த்-மயதாம் க³தஸ்ய - (of Thee) who had manifested as the fourteen worlds; பாதாலம்- - Paataal; ஈஶ - O Lord!; தவ பாத³தலம் - soles (lower part) of Thy feet; வத³ந்தி - is said to be; பாத-³ஊர்த்⁴வ-தே³ஶம்-அபி - the upper surface of (Thy) feet; தே³வ - O Effulgent One!; ரஸாதலம் - (is) Rasaatala; தே கு³ல்ப²த்³வயம் க²லு - Thy two ankles, indeed; மஹாதலம்- - (are) Mahaatala; அத்³பு⁴த்-ஆத்மன் - O Lord of wondrous form;
Translation
O Lord! Thou took the wonderful form of the fourteen worlds as Thy Viraat Swaroopa : The lower worlds - Paataala -is the lower portion of Thy feet. Rasaatala - is the upper portion of Thy feet. Mahaatala is Thy two ankles.

ஜங்கே⁴ தலாதலமதோ² ஸுதலம் ச ஜானூ
கிஞ்சோருபா⁴க³யுக³லம் விதலாதலே த்³வே ।
க்ஷோணீதலம் ஜக⁴னமம்ப³ரமங்க³ நாபி⁴-
ர்வக்ஷஶ்ச ஶக்ரனிலயஸ்தவ சக்ரபாணே ॥2॥
Meaning
ஜங்கே⁴ தலாதலம்- - (Thy) shins Talaatal; அத:² ஸுதலம் ச ஜானூ - then, Sutala (are Thy) knees; கிஞ்ச-உரு-பா⁴க-³யுக³லம் - moreover, the two thighs (are); விதல-அதலே த்³வே - the two (worlds) Vitala and Atala; க்ஷோணீதலம் ஜக⁴னம்- - the earth is (Thy) hip; அம்ப³ரம்-அங்க³ நாபி⁴: - - sky is O Lord! the navel; வக்ஷ: - ச - and the chest; ஶக்ர-னிலய: தவ - of Thine is the abode of Indra (swarga); சக்ரபாணே - O Wielder of the discus!;
Translation
O Wielder of the discus! Talaatala is Thy shins (lower part of leg between knee and ankle). Sutala is Thy knees. Vitala and Atala are the two thighs. The higher worlds: Bhoomi (earth) is Thy hip; Bhuva (sky) is Thy navel; Swarga (heaven) is Thy chest which is the abode of Indra.

க்³ரீவா மஹஸ்தவ முக²ம் ச ஜனஸ்தபஸ்து
பா²லம் ஶிரஸ்தவ ஸமஸ்தமயஸ்ய ஸத்யம் ।

ப்யன்யைர்னிப³த்³த⁴வபுஷே ப⁴க³வன்னமஸ்தே ॥3॥
Meaning
க்³ரீவா மஹ: - தவ - Thy neck is Maharloka; முக²ம் ச ஜன: - - and face is Janaloka; தப: - து பா²லம் - Tapoloka, indeed, is forehead; ஶிர: - - head; தவ ஸமஸ்தமயஸ்ய - of Thee who are everything; ஸத்யம் - is Satyaloka; ஏவம் - in this manner; ஜக³ன்மயதனோ - whose body is the universe!; ஜக³தா³ஶ்ரிதை:-அபி-அன்யை: - of all other things forming the universe; நிப³த்³த⁴வபுஷே - whose body is conceived as being made up of; ப⁴க³வன் நம: - தே - O Lord! Salutations to Thee!;
Translation
O Lord! Thy body is the whole universe. Maharloka is Thy neck. Janaloka is Thy face. Tapoloka is Thy forehead. Satyaloka is Thy head. Of all the other things of which the universe is made, Thy body is also conceived of being made up of all that. O Lord! salutations to Thee.

த்வத்³ப்³ரஹ்மரந்த்⁴ரபத³மீஶ்வர விஶ்வகந்த³
ச²ந்தா³ம்ஸி கேஶவ க⁴னாஸ்தவ கேஶபாஶா: ।
உல்லாஸிசில்லியுக³லம் த்³ருஹிணஸ்ய கே³ஹம்
பக்ஷ்மாணி ராத்ரிதி³வஸௌ ஸவிதா ச நேத்ரை ॥4॥
Meaning
த்வத்-ப்³ரஹ்மரந்த்⁴ரபத³ம்- - Thy Brahmarandhra area (the psychic orifice on the crown of the head); ஈஶ்வர விஶ்வகந்த³ - O Lord! Thou the source of the universe!; ச்²ந்தா³ம்ஸி - (are) the Vedas; கேஶவ - O Keshava!; க⁴னா: தவ கேஶபாஶா: - the dark clouds are Thy locks of hair; உல்லாஸி-சில்லி-யுக³லம் - the delightful two eyebrows; த்³ருஹிணஸ்ய கே³ஹம் - are the abode of Brahma; பக்ஷ்மாணி - the eyelashes; ராத்ரி-தி³பி³ஸௌ - are night and day; ஸவிதா ச நேத்ரே - and the eyes are the Sun;
Translation
O Lord! The very cause of the universe,O Keshava! Thy Brahmarandhra are the Vedas. The clouds are Thy beautiful locks of hair. The abode of Brahma are Thy two eyebrows.Thy eyelashes are the night and the day, and Thy eyes is the Sun.

நிஶ்ஶேஷவிஶ்வரசனா ச கடாக்ஷமோக்ஷ:
கர்ணௌ தி³ஶோஶ்வியுக³லம் தவ நாஸிகே த்³வே ।

Meaning
நிஶ்ஶேஷ-விஶ்வ-ரசனா ச - the creation of the whole universe; கடாக்ஷ-மோக்ஷ: - is by extending a glance of Thy eye; கர்ணௌ தி³ஶ: - - (Thy) ears are the directions (quarters); அஶ்வியுக³லம் - the two Ashvinidevas; தவ நாஸிகே த்³வே - are Thy two nostrils; லோப⁴த்ரபே ச - greed and modesty; ப⁴க³வன் - O Lord!; அத⁴ர-உத்தர-ஓஷ்டௌ² - (are Thy) lower and upper lips; தாரா-க³ணா: - ச - and the galaxy of stars; த³ஶனா: - are Thy teeth; ஶமன: ச த³ம்ஷ்ட்ரா - the molars are Yama (the god of death);
Translation
O Lord! The whole of the creation is the extension of Thy one glance. The different directions are Thy ears. The Ashwini devataas are Thy two nostrils. Greed and modesty are Thy lower lip and the upper lip.The stars are Thy teeth, and Yama (death) is Thy molars.

மாயா விலாஸஹஸிதம் ஶ்வஸிதம் ஸமீரோ
ஜிஹ்வா ஜலம் வசனமீஶ ஶகுந்தபங்க்தி: ।
ஸித்³தா⁴த³ய: ஸ்வரக³ணா முக²ரந்த்⁴ரமக்³னி-
ர்தே³வா பு⁴ஜா: ஸ்தனயுக³ம் தவ த⁴ர்மதே³வ: ॥6॥
Meaning
மாயா - Maayaa (Thy cosmic creative power); விலாஸ-ஹஸிதம் - is (Thy) charming smile; ஶ்வஸிதம் ஸமீர: - (Thy) breath is the wind; ஜிஹ்வா ஜலம் - (Thy) tongue is water; வசனம்- - speech; ஈஶ - O Lord !; ஶகுந்த-பங்க்தி - is the birds' chirping in formation; ஸித்³த-⁴ஆத³ய: ஸ்வரக³ணா: - (Thy) voice is the Sidhdhaas (and other divine artists); முக-²ரந்த்⁴ரம்-அக்³னி:- - (Thy) mouth is fire; தே³வா பு⁴ஜா: - (Thy) arms are the gods (Devaa); ஸ்தனயுக³ம் தவ த⁴ர்மதே³வ: - Thy breasts is the Dharmadeva (the god of righteousness);
Translation
O Lord! Maayaa is Thy charming smile and Thy breath is the wind. Water is Thy tongue. The birds' chirpings, as they fly in formation, are Thy speech and Thy voice are the Sidhdhaas and divine artists. Fire is Thy mouth and the gods are Thy arms. Thy breasts are the Dharma devas.

ப்ருஷ்ட²ம் த்வத⁴ர்ம இஹ தே³வ மன: ஸுதா⁴ம்ஶு -
ரவ்யக்தமேவ ஹ்ருத³யம்பு³ஜமம்பு³ஜாக்ஷ ।
குக்ஷி: ஸமுத்³ரனிவஹா வஸனம் து ஸந்த்⁴யே

ப்ருஷ்ட²ம் து-அத⁴ர்ம - (Thy) back is Adharma (unrighteousness); இஹ - of this (cosmic world); தே³வ - O Lord!; மன: ஸுதா⁴ம்ஶு: - - mind is the moon; அவ்யக்தம்-ஏவ - the unmanifest; ஹ்ருத³ய-அம்பு³ஜம் - (is Thy) heart lotus; அம்பு³ஜாக்ஷ - O Lotus eyed One!; குக்ஷி: ஸமுத்³ரனிவஹா: - (Thy) abdomen is the ocean; வஸனம் து ஸந்த்⁴யே - (Thy) garments are the two sandhyaas (dawn and dusk); ஶேப:² ப்ரஜாபதி:- - (Thy) generative organ is Prajaapati (god of procreation); அஸௌ வ்ருஷணௌ ச மித்ர: - and (Thy) testicles are god Mitra;
Translation
O Lord! Adharma is Thy back and the moon is Thy mind. O lotus eyed One! The unmanifest is Thy heart lotus and the oceans are Thy abdomen. The sandhyaas are Thy garments , Prajaapati is Thy generative organ and Thy testicles is god Mitra.

ஶ்ரோணீஸ்த²லம் ம்ருக³க³ணா: பத³யோர்னகா²ஸ்தே
ஹஸ்த்யுஷ்ட்ரஸைந்த⁴வமுகா² க³மனம் து கால: ।
விப்ராதி³வர்ணப⁴வனம் வத³னாப்³ஜபா³ஹு-
சாரூருயுக்³மசரணம் கருணாம்பு³தே⁴ தே ॥8॥
Meaning
ஶ்ரோணீ: -ஸ்த²லம் - (Thy) lower-back; ம்ருக³க³ணா: - forms the animal world; பத³யோ: - நகா²: - தே - the nails of Thy feet; ஹஸ்தி-உஷ்ட்ர-ஸைம்த⁴வ-முகா²: - are the animals like elephants, camels, horses etc.; க³மனம் து கால: - (Thy) movement is Time; விப்ர-ஆதி³-வர்ண-ப⁴வனம் - Brahmins and the other Varnas ensue from; வத³ன-ஆப்³ஜ-பா³ஹு-சாரு-உரு-யுக்³ம-சரணம் - (Thy) lotus face,arms, charming thighs and feet; கருணா-அம்பு³தே⁴ தே - of Thee, O Ocean of mercy;
Translation
O Ocean of mercy! The animal world is Thy lower-back and the elephants camels and horses are the nails of Thy feet. Time is Thy movement. The four varnas -Brahmins, Kshatriyaa, Vaishyaa and Shoodraas originated from Thy lotus face, hands, charming thighs and feet, respectively.

ஸம்ஸாரசக்ரமயி சக்ரத⁴ர க்ரியாஸ்தே
வீர்யம் மஹாஸுரக³ணோஸ்தி²குலானி ஶைலா: ।

ஜீயாதி³த³ம் வபுரனிர்வசனீயமீஶ ॥9॥
Meaning
ஸம்ஸார-சக்ரம்- - the wheel of Samsaara ( the cycle of birth and death); அயி சக்ரதர⁴ - O Thou wielder of the discus!; க்ரியா: -தே - is Thy activity; வீர்யம் மஹா-அஸுர-க³ண: - - (Thy) prowess is the host of powerful Asuraas; அஸ்தி²-குலானி ஶைலா: - (Thy) bones are the mountains; நாட்³ய: -ஸரித்-ஸமுத³ய: - - (Thy) blood vessels are the many rivers; தரவ: -ச ரோம - and the trees are Thy hair; ஜீயாத்- - May it always shine (in me); இத³ம் வபு: -அனிர்வசனீயம்- - this indescribable form; ஈஶ - O Lord!;
Translation
O Thou wielder of the discus! Thy activity is the wheel of Samsaara and the host of Asuras are Thy prowess.The mountains are Thy bones, the many rivers are Thy blood streams and the trees are Thy hair. May this indescribable form always shine in me.

ஈத்³ருக்³ஜக³ன்மயவபுஸ்தவ கர்மபா⁴ஜாம்
கர்மாவஸானஸமயே ஸ்மரணீயமாஹு: ।
தஸ்யாந்தராத்மவபுஷே விமலாத்மனே தே
வாதாலயாதி⁴ப நமோஸ்து நிருந்தி⁴ ரோகா³ன் ॥1௦॥
Meaning
ஈத்³ருக்-ஜக³ன்மய-வபு: - தவ - such cosmic (Viraat) form of Thee; கர்மபா⁴ஜாம் - by all human beings (who are subject to the law of Karma); கர்ம-அவஸான-ஸமயே - at the end of all vedic karmas and at the time of death; ஸ்மரணீயம்-ஆஹு: - should be remembered, it is said; தஸ்ய-அந்தர-ஆத்ம-வபுஷே - (Thou) who are the Indweller of that Viraat form; விமலாத்மனே தே - (and) Thou who are of the nature of pure Sattva; வாதாலயாதி⁴ப - O Lord of Guruvaayur!; நம: -அஸ்து - my salutations be to Thee; நிருந்தி⁴ ரோகா³ன் - may my ailments be eradicated;
Translation
Human beings who are bound by the law of Karma should remember this Viraat (cosmic) form of Thine, which is of the nature of pure Sattva, at the end of all rituals, and when desirous of liberation and at the time of death. O Lord of Guruvaayur! My salutations to Thee. Please eradicate my ailments.
