நாராயணீயம் த³ஶக 65

ஶ்லோக:
கோ³பீஜனாய கதி²தம் நியமாவஸானே
மாரோத்ஸவம் த்வமத² ஸாத⁴யிதும் ப்ரவ்ருத்த: ।
ஸாந்த்³ரேண சாந்த்³ரமஹஸா ஶிஶிரீக்ருதாஶே
ப்ராபூரயோ முரலிகாம் யமுனாவனாந்தே ॥1॥

Meaning
கோ³பீஜனாய - for the Gopikaas; கதி²தம் - said (promised); நியம-அவஸானே - (when their) vows had ended; மார-உத்ஸவம் - the love-god festival; த்வம்-அத² - Thou then; ஸாத⁴யிதும் ப்ரவ்ருத்த: - to carry out (fulfill) decided; ஸாந்த்³ரேண சாந்த்³ரமஹஸா - with bright light of the full moon; ஶிஶிரீ-க்ருத-ஆஶே - and cooled all the directions; ப்ராபூரய: முரலிகாம் - (Thou) filled well (played) the flute; யமுனா-வன-அந்தே - in the forests on the banks of Yamunaa;

Translation
Thou then decided to carry out the festival of the love god, which Thou had promised to the Gopikaas when their vows had ended. One night, with the bright light of the full moon, when all the directions were cool, in the forest on the banks of the river Yamunaa, Thou resoundingly played the flute.

ஶ்லோக:
ஸம்மூர்ச²னாபி⁴ருதி³தஸ்வரமண்ட³லாபி⁴:
ஸம்மூர்ச²யந்தமகி²லம் பு⁴வனாந்தராலம் ।
த்வத்³வேணுனாத³முபகர்ண்ய விபோ⁴ தருண்ய-
ஸ்தத்தாத்³ருஶம் கமபி சித்தவிமோஹமாபு: ॥2॥

Meaning
ஸம்மூர்ச²னாபி⁴:- - by the seven (ascending and descending) notes; உதி³த- - emerging; ஸ்வரமண்ட³லாபி⁴: - in a musical strain; ஸம்மூர்ச²யந்தம்- - enchanting; அகி²லம் - everything; பு⁴வன-அந்தராலம் - in the world space; த்வத்-வேணு-னாத³ம்- - Thy flute resounding; உபகர்ண்ய விபோ⁴ - hearing (which) O All pervading Lord!; தருண்ய:-தத்-தாத்³ருஶம் - the damsels, that compared to that (incomparable); கம்-அபி - some (sort of); சித்த-விமோஹம்-ஆபு: - mind captivation attained to;

Translation
O All pervading Lord! In the resounding sound of Thy flute the seven ascending and descending notes emerged in a musical strain and enchanted everything in the world space. Hearing which the damsels attained an unparalleled and incomparable captivating state of their mind.

ஶ்லோக:
தா கே³ஹக்ருத்யனிரதாஸ்தனயப்ரஸக்தா:
காந்தோபஸேவனபராஶ்ச ஸரோருஹாக்ஷ்ய: ।
ஸர்வம் விஸ்ருஜ்ய முரலீரவமோஹிதாஸ்தே
காந்தாரதே³ஶமயி காந்ததனோ ஸமேதா: ॥3॥

Meaning
தா: - they; கே³ஹ-க்ருத்ய-னிரதா:- - who were in household duties engaged; தனய-ப்ரஸக்தா: - (or) were their children tending; காந்த-உபஸேவன-பரா:-ச - and in the husband's service eager; ஸரோருஹ-ஆக்ஷ்ய: - (they) the lotus eyed damsels; ஸர்வம் விஸ்ருஜ்ய - everything abandoning; முரலீ-ரவ- - (by) the flute sound; மோஹிதா:-தே - captivated they (the damsels); காந்தார-தே³ஶம்- - to the forest place; அயி காந்த-தனோ - O Resplendent One!; ஸமேதா: - came;

Translation
O Resplendent One! The lotus eyed damsels were captivated by the sound of Thy flute. They, who were engaged in the household duties, or were taking care of their children, or were engaged in serving their husbands, abandoned everything and came rushing to the forest place.

ஶ்லோக:
காஶ்சின்னிஜாங்க³பரிபூ⁴ஷணமாத³தா⁴னா
வேணுப்ரணாத³முபகர்ண்ய க்ருதார்த⁴பூ⁴ஷா: ।
த்வாமாக³தா நனு ததை²வ விபூ⁴ஷிதாப்⁴ய-
ஸ்தா ஏவ ஸம்ருருசிரே தவ லோசனாய ॥4॥

Meaning
காஶ்சித்- - some (damsels); நிஜ-அங்க-³ - their own bodies; பரிபூ⁴ஷணம்- - (with) dress and jewels; ஆத³தா⁴னா - adorning; வேணு-ப்ரணாத³ம்- - the resounding flute sound; உபகர்ண்ய - hearing; க்ருத-அர்த-⁴பூ⁴ஷா: - having adorned half way only; த்வாம்-ஆக³தா: - to Thee came; நனு ததா²-ஏவ - indeed thus only; விபூ⁴ஷிதாப்⁴ய: - than those who were fully adorned; தா ஏவ - they only; ஸம்ருருசிரே - were more pleasing; தவ லோசனாய - for Thy eyes;

Translation
Some of the damsels were dressing up and adorning their bodies with jewels. As they heard the resounding sound of the flute, they came to Thee having adorned themselves halfway. For Thy eyes they were far more pleasing indeed than those who were fully adorned.

ஶ்லோக:
ஹாரம் நிதம்ப³பு⁴வி காசன தா⁴ரயந்தீ
காஞ்சீம் ச கண்ட²பு⁴வி தே³வ ஸமாக³தா த்வாம் ।
ஹாரித்வமாத்மஜக⁴னஸ்ய முகுந்த³ துப்⁴யம்
வ்யக்தம் ப³பா⁴ஷ இவ முக்³த⁴முகீ² விஶேஷாத் ॥5॥

Meaning
ஹாரம் நிதம்ப-³பு⁴வி - necklace on the hip area; காசன தா⁴ரயந்தீ - someone wearing; காஞ்சீம் ச - and the waist band; கண்ட-²பு⁴வி - in the neck area; தே³வ - O Lord!; ஸமாக³தா த்வாம் - came to Thee; ஹாரித்வம்- - the attractiveness; ஆத்ம-ஜக⁴னஸ்ய - of her own hips; முகுந்த³ துப்⁴யம் - O Mukund for Thee; வ்யக்தம் ப³பா⁴ஷ இவ - clearly declared as if; முக்³த⁴முகீ² - the charming faced one; விஶேஷாத் - in particular;

Translation
O Lord! One woman, in her haste, came to Thee wearing a necklace on the hips and the waist band in the neck area. O Mukund! It was as if the charming faced one clearly indicated to Thee in particular the attractiveness of her own hips.

ஶ்லோக:
காசித் குசே புனரஸஜ்ஜிதகஞ்சுலீகா
வ்யாமோஹத: பரவதூ⁴பி⁴ரலக்ஷ்யமாணா ।
த்வாமாயயௌ நிருபமப்ரணயாதிபா⁴ர-
ராஜ்யாபி⁴ஷேகவித⁴யே கலஶீத⁴ரேவ ॥6॥

Meaning
காசித் குசே - some one ,on her breasts; புன:-அஸஜ்ஜித- - again not wearing; கஞ்சுலீகா - the upper garment; வ்யாமோஹத: - because of excitement; பரவதூ⁴பி⁴:- - by other women; அலக்ஷ்யமாணா - also not noticed; த்வாம்-ஆயயௌ - to Thee came; நிருபம-ப்ரணய- - (as if) unparalleled (intense) love; அதிபா⁴ர- - intense (weighed down by); ராஜ்ய-அபி⁴ஷேக-வித⁴யே - kingdom coronation celebration; கலஶீத⁴ர-இவ - water pitchers as if;

Translation
Some another woman, in her excitement came to Thee not wearing any upper garment on her breasts. She was not noticed in such a state by the other women, who were as excited. It was as if she was weighed down by the unparalleled intense love she carried as water pitchers as breasts for the celebration of Thy coronation in the kingdom of love.

ஶ்லோக:
காஶ்சித் க்³ருஹாத் கில நிரேதுமபாரயந்த்ய-
ஸ்த்வாமேவ தே³வ ஹ்ருத³யே ஸுத்³ருட⁴ம் விபா⁴வ்ய ।
தே³ஹம் விதூ⁴ய பரசித்ஸுக²ரூபமேகம்
த்வாமாவிஶன் பரமிமா நனு த⁴ன்யத⁴ன்யா: ॥7॥

Meaning
காஶ்சித் க்³ருஹாத் - some one from home; கில நிரேதும்- - indeed to come out; அபாரயந்த்ய: - being unable; த்வாம்-ஏவ தே³வ - Thee alone O Lord!; ஹ்ருத³யே ஸுத்³ருட⁴ம் விபா⁴வ்ய - in heart firmly meditating; தே³ஹம் விதூ⁴ய - body giving up; பர-சித்-ஸுக-² - the Supreme conscious bliss; ரூபம்-ஏகம் த்வாம்- - form of non-dual, in Thee; ஆவிஶன் - merging; பரம்-இமா:-னநு - very much these (women) indeed; த⁴ன்ய-த⁴ன்யா: - (were) most fortunate;

Translation
Some of them were indeed unable to come out from home. O Lord! They meditated on Thee firmly in their hearts. With the result, they gave up their bodies and merged with Thy non dual form and attained the Supreme consciousness bliss. These indeed were the most fortunate ones.

ஶ்லோக:
ஜாராத்மனா ந பரமாத்மதயா ஸ்மரந்த்யோ
நார்யோ க³தா: பரமஹம்ஸக³திம் க்ஷணேன ।
தம் த்வாம் ப்ரகாஶபரமாத்மதனும் கத²ஞ்சி-
ச்சித்தே வஹன்னம்ருதமஶ்ரமமஶ்னுவீய ॥8॥

Meaning
ஜாராத்மனா - by the feeling of paramour; ந பரமாத்மதயா - not by the feeling of godliness; ஸ்மரந்த்ய: - thinking of Thee; நார்ய: க³தா: - the women attained; பரமஹம்ஸக³திம் - to the state of liberation; க்ஷணேன தம் த்வாம் - in a moment, that Thou; ப்ரகாஶ-பரமாத்ம-தனும் - resplendent supreme form; கத²ஞ்சித்- - in any manner; சித்தே வஹன்- - in the mind holding (meditating); அம்ருதம்- - the state of immortality; அஶ்ரமம்-அஶ்னுவீய - effortlessly may I attain;

Translation
These women thought of Thee and remembered Thee not with the feeling of godliness, Paramaatmaa, but with the feeling of paramour. In a moment, they attained the state of liberation with Thee. O Supreme Resplendent form! Meditating in the mind in some or the other manner may I attain the state of immortality effortlessly.

ஶ்லோக:
அப்⁴யாக³தாபி⁴ரபி⁴தோ வ்ரஜஸுந்த³ரீபி⁴-
ர்முக்³த⁴ஸ்மிதார்த்³ரவத³ன: கருணாவலோகீ ।
நிஸ்ஸீமகாந்திஜலதி⁴ஸ்த்வமவேக்ஷ்யமாணோ
விஶ்வைகஹ்ருத்³ய ஹர மே பவனேஶ ரோகா³ன் ॥9॥

Meaning
அப்⁴யாக³தாபி⁴:- - by those who had come; அபி⁴த: - all around; வ்ரஜஸுந்த³ரீபி⁴:- - (by) the beautiful women fo Vraja; முக்³த-⁴ஸ்மித-ஆர்த்³ர-வத³ன: - (with) a captivating smile lit on the face; கருணா-அவலோகீ - (Thou) glancing with compassion; நிஸ்ஸீம-காந்தி- - unbound splendorous; ஜலதி⁴:-த்வம்- - ocean Thou; அவேக்ஷ்யமாண: - were looked at (by the women); விஶ்வைகஹ்ருத்³ய - O Stealer of the world's heart!; ஹர மே - rid me of my; பவனேஶ - O Lord of Guruvaayur!; ரோகா³ன் - ailments;

Translation
The beautiful women of Vraja, who had come and gathered all around Thee, were looking at Thee. Thou had a captivating smile lighting Thy face, glancing with compassion, and Thou who are like an unbound ocean of splendour, O Hari! The stealer of the world's heart! rid me, O Lord of Guruvaayur! of my ailments.
