க்வசித³த² தபனோபராக³காலே புரி நித³த⁴த் க்ருதவர்மகாமஸூனூ ।
யது³குலமஹிலாவ்ருத: ஸுதீர்த²ம் ஸமுபக³தோஸி ஸமந்தபஞ்சகாக்²யம் ॥1॥
Meaning
க்வசித்-அத² - once then; தபன-உபராக-³காலே - in the solar eclipse time; புரி நித³த⁴த் - in the city leaving; க்ருதவர்ம-காமஸூனூ - Kritavarma and Aniruddha; யது³குல்-மஹிலா-ஆவ்ருத: - the Yadus and their women folk along with; ஸுதீர்த²ம் ஸமுபக³த:-அஸி - to the holy spot (Thou) went; ஸமந்தபஞ்சக-ஆக்²யம் - Samantapanchaka known as;
Translation
Once then during the time of Solar eclipse, leaving behind Kritvarma and Anirudhdha in charge of Dwaarika, Thou went to the holy spot known as Samantapanchaka, along with the Yaadava clan and their womenfolk.
ஶ்லோக:
ப³ஹுதரஜனதாஹிதாய தத்ர த்வமபி புனந் வினிமஜ்ய தீர்த²தோயம் ।
த்³விஜக³ணபரிமுக்தவித்தராஶி: ஸமமிலதா²: குருபாண்ட³வாதி³மித்ரை: ॥2॥
Meaning
ப³ஹுதர-ஜனதா-ஹிதாய - for the large number of peoples benefit; தத்ர த்வம்-அபி - there Thou also; புனந் - sanctifying; வினிமஜ்ய தீர்த-²தோயம் - dipping into the holy waters; த்³விஜ-க³ண-பரிமுக்த- - for the Braahmin groups giving away; வித்த-ராஶி: - money in large quantity; ஸமமிலதா²: - (Thou) interacted; குரு-பாண்ட³வ-ஆதி³-மித்ரை: - with the Kauravas and Pandavas and other friends;
Translation
Thou also took a dip in the holy waters and thereby sanctified the waters for the benefit of the large number of people. Thou also gave away money in good amount to the group of the Braahmins. Then Thou interacted with Thy friends the Kauravas and the Paandavas and others.
ஶ்லோக:
தவ க²லு த³யிதாஜனை: ஸமேதா த்³ருபத³ஸுதா த்வயி கா³ட⁴ப⁴க்திபா⁴ரா ।
தது³தி³தப⁴வதா³ஹ்ருதிப்ரகாரை: அதிமுமுதே³ ஸமமன்யபா⁴மினீபி⁴: ॥3॥
Meaning
தவ க²லு த³யிதா-ஜனை: - Thy indeed with the wives; ஸமேதா - mixing; த்³ருபத³ஸுதா த்வயி - Draupadi in Thee; கா³ட-⁴ப⁴க்தி-பா⁴ரா - deep devotion carrying; தத்-உதி³த- - by them said; ப⁴வத்-ஆஹ்ருதி-ப்ரகாரை: - Thy carrying (them) away methods; அதி-முமுதே³ - was very delighted; ஸமம்-அன்ய-பா⁴மினீபி⁴: - with other women;
Translation
Draupadi who was deeply devoted to Thee, freely mixed with Thy wives. She was very much delighted when they narrated the various methods by which they were abducted and married by Thee. The other women also enjoyed the narrations.
ஶ்லோக:
தத³னு ச ப⁴க³வன் நிரீக்ஷ்ய கோ³பானதிகுதுகாது³பக³ம்ய மானயித்வா।
சிரதரவிரஹாதுராங்க³ரேகா²: பஶுபவதூ⁴: ஸரஸம் த்வமன்வயாஸீ: ॥4॥
Meaning
தத³னு ச ப⁴க³வன் - and after that O Lord!; நிரீக்ஷ்ய கோ³பான்- - seeing the gopas; அதி-குதுகாத்- - with great joy; உபக³ம்ய மானயித்வா - approaching and honoring them; சிரதர-விரஹ-ஆதுர- - for very long separation (from Thee) suffering; அங்க-³ரேகா²: - body frailed; பஶுப-வதூ⁴: - the gopikas; ஸரஸம் த்வம்-அன்வயாஸீ: - joyfully Thee approached;
Translation
After that O Lord! Seeing the gopas Thou approached and honoured them with great joy. The gopikas had become frail in body due to the sorrow of separation from Thee for a very long time. Thou joyfully went to them also.
ஶ்லோக:
ஸபதி³ ச ப⁴வதீ³க்ஷணோத்ஸவேன ப்ரமுஷிதமானஹ்ருதா³ம் நிதம்பி³னீனாம் ।
அதிரஸபரிமுக்தகஞ்சுலீகே பரிசயஹ்ருத்³யதரே குசே ந்யலைஷீ: ॥5॥
Meaning
ஸபதி³ ச - and soon; ப⁴வத்-ஈக்ஷண-உத்ஸவேன - Thee seeing celebration; ப்ரமுஷித-மான-ஹ்ருதா³ம் - wiped away the complaints from their hearts; நிதம்பி³னீனாம் - of the beautiful women; அதி-ரஸ-பரிமுக்த- - intense love giving away; கஞ்சுலீகே - their bodices; பரிசய-ஹ்ருத்³யதரே - in the familiar and very dear; குசே ந்யலைஷீ: - breasts (Thou) got absorbed;
Translation
Instantly then, celebrating the joy of Thy sight all complaints from the hearts of the beautiful women were wiped away. With the intense love welled up, their bodices burst open revealing their very dear familiar breasts where Thou got absorbed.
ஶ்லோக:
ரிபுஜனகலஹை: புன: புனர்மே ஸமுபக³தைரியதீ விலம்ப³னாபூ⁴த் ।
இதி க்ருதபரிரம்ப⁴ணேத்வயி த்³ராக் அதிவிவஶா க²லு ராதி⁴கா நிலில்யே ॥6॥
Meaning
ரிபு-ஜன-கலஹை: - enemies in conflict; புன: புன:- - again and again; மே ஸமுபக³தை:- - my, by happening; இயதீ விலம்ப³னா- - so much delay; அபூ⁴த் - became; இதி க்ருத-பரிரம்ப⁴ணே- - thus making embrace; த்வயி த்³ராக் - by Thee immediately; அதிவிவஶா - very overwhelmed; க²லு ராதி⁴கா - indeed Raadhika; நிலில்யே - became absorbed;
Translation
Raadhikaa was totally absorbed in Thee when Thou embraced her and told her that so much delay was caused in meeting her and the gopikas because of frequent clashes with the enemies.
ஶ்லோக:
அபக³தவிரஹவ்யதா²ஸ்ததா³ தா ரஹஸி விதா⁴ய த³தா³த² தத்த்வபோ³த⁴ம் ।
பரமஸுக²சிதா³த்மகோஹமாத்மேத்யுத³யது வ: ஸ்பு²டமேவ சேதஸீதி ॥7॥
Meaning
அபக³த-விரஹ-வ்யதா²:- - (who were) free of the separation pangs; ததா³ தா: - then they (the gopikas); ரஹஸி விதா⁴ய - privately making; த³தா³த² தத்த்வ-போ³த⁴ம் - gave the knowledge of Reality; பரம-ஸுக-²சித்- - Supreme Bliss Consciousness; ஆத்மக:-அஹம்-ஆத்மா- - Brahamana am I, the self; இதி-உத³யது வ: - thus may dawn in you; ஸ்பு²டம்-ஏவ - very clearly only; சேதஸி-இதி - in your hearts, thus;
Translation
Then the gopikas were rendered free from the pangs of separation as Thou gave them the knowledge of Supreme self privately. Thou instilled into their hearts that Thou were the Supreme Bliss Consciousness and the Supreme Brahaman, their inner most self.
ஶ்லோக:
ஸுக²ரஸபரிமிஶ்ரிதோ வியோக:³ கிமபி புராப⁴வது³த்³த⁴வோபதே³ஶை: ।
ஸமப⁴வத³முத: பரம் து தாஸாம் பரமஸுகை²க்யமயீ ப⁴வத்³விசிந்தா ॥8॥
Meaning
ஸுக-²ரஸ-பரிமிஶ்ரித: - with joy mixed; வியோக:³ கிம்-அபி - separation somehow; புரா-அப⁴வத்- - formerly happened; உத்³த⁴வ-உபதே³ஶை: - by Uddhava's preachings; ஸமப⁴வத்-அமுத: - (but) happened by this; பரம் து தாஸாம் - after (this) indeed to them; பரம்-ஸுக-²ஐக்யமயீ - Supreme Blissful Union; ப⁴வத்-விசிந்தா - (with Thee by) Thy (mere) thought;
Translation
There remained a feeling of joy mixed with the sorrow of separation when long back the gopikas were advised by Uddhava. But after this instruction by Thee, they indeed were experiencing Supreme Blissful Union with Thee by a mere thought of Thee.
ஶ்லோக:
முனிவரனிவஹைஸ்தவாத² பித்ரா து³ரிதஶமாய ஶுபா⁴னி ப்ருச்ச்²யமானை: ।
த்வயி ஸதி கிமித³ம் ஶுபா⁴ந்தரை: ரித்யுருஹஸிதைரபி யாஜிதஸ்ததா³ஸௌ ॥9॥
Meaning
முனி-வர-னிவஹை:- - by the great sages groups; தவ-அத² பித்ரா - Thy then father; து³ரித-ஶமாய - for son's atonement; ஶுபா⁴னி - auspicious rites; ப்ருச்ச்²யமானை: - were being asked; த்வயி ஸதி - Thou being there; கிம்-இத³ம்-ஶுப-⁴அந்தரை:- - what this auspicious rite others; இதி-உரு-ஹஸிதை:-அபி - thus loudly laughing also; யாஜித:-ததா³-அஸௌ - made to perform sacrifices then he (Vasudeva);
Translation
Vasudeva asked the assembly of the great sages about the auspicious rites to be performed for the atonement for the sins. Even though the sages were very amused and laughed at such an enquiry, because having Thee as a son there was no need for any atonements. But they made him perform the required rites all the same.
ஶ்லோக:
ஸுமஹதி யஜனே விதாயமானே ப்ரமுதி³தமித்ரஜனே ஸஹைவ கோ³பா: ।
யது³ஜனமஹிதாஸ்த்ரிமாஸமாத்ரம் ப⁴வத³னுஷங்க³ரஸம் புரேவ பே⁴ஜு : ॥1௦॥
Meaning
ஸுமஹதி யஜனே - during the very big sacrifice; விதாயமானே - which was being performed; ப்ரமுதி³த-மித்ர-ஜனே - with the delighted friends; ஸஹ-ஏவ கோ³பா: - also along with the gopas; யது³-ஜன-மஹிதா: - by the Yaadavas honoured; த்ரி-மாஸ-மாத்ரம் - for three months; ப⁴வத்-அனுஷங்க-³ரஸம் - Thy company's pleasure; புரா-ஏவ பே⁴ஜு: - like the olden times enjoyed;
Translation
The very big sacrifice was performed which lasted for three months. During that time Thy friends and the gopas were honoured by the Yaadavas and they enjoyed Thy company's pleasure like in the olden days.
ஶ்லோக:
வ்யபக³மஸமயே ஸமேத்ய ராதா⁴ம் த்³ருட⁴முபகூ³ஹ்ய நிரீக்ஷ்ய வீதகே²தா³ம் ।
ப்ரமுதி³தஹ்ருத³ய: புரம் ப்ரயாத: பவனபுரேஶ்வர பாஹி மாம் க³தே³ப்⁴ய: ॥11॥
Meaning
வ்யபக³ம-ஸமயே - at the departing time; ஸமேத்ய ராதா⁴ம் - approaching Raadhaa; த்³ருட⁴ம்-உபகூ³ஹ்ய - tightly embracing; நிரீக்ஷ்ய வீத-கே²தா³ம் - seeing (her) free from sorrow; ப்ரமுதி³த-ஹ்ருத³ய: - with a happy heart; புரம்-ப்ரயாத: - Thou went back (to Dwaarika); பவனபுரேஶ்வர - O Lord of Guruvaayur!; பாஹி மாம் க³தே³ப்⁴ய: - save me from ailments;
Translation
At the time of departing Thou approached Raadhaa. As Thou held her in a tight embrace Thou were happy to see her free from all sorrow of separation or otherwise. Thou returned to Dwaarikaa with a happy heart. O Lord of Guruvaayur! Save me from all ailments.
