பார்த²ப்ரீத்யை புனரபி மனாகா³ஸ்தி²தோ ஹஸ்திபுர்யாம்

Meaning
ஸ்னிக்³தா⁴ம் முக்³தா⁴ம் - loving and very beautiful; ஸ்ததம்-அபி - for some time also; தாம் லாலயன் - her endearing; ஸத்யபா⁴மாம் - Satyabhaamaa; யாத: பூ⁴ய: - (Thou) went, thereafter; ஸஹ க²லு தயா - with indeed her; யாஜ்ஞஸேனீ-விவாஹம் - to Paanchaali's marriage; பார்த-²ப்ரீத்யை - for the Pandavaa's pleasure; புன:-அபி - again also; மனாக்-ஆஸ்தி²த: - for sometime stayed; ஹஸ்திபுர்யாம் - in Hastinaapur; ஶக்ரப்ரஸ்த²ம் புரம்-அபி - Indraprastha city also; விபோ⁴ ஸம்விதா⁴ய- - O Lord! Founding; ஆக³த:-அபூ⁴: - returned;
Translation
Thou always endeared the loving and very beautiful Satyabhaamaa. Thereafter Thou went with her to attend the wedding of Paanchaali. To please the Paandavaas, Thou stayed in Hastinaapur for sometime. O Lord! Thou then founded the city of Indraprastha and then returned to Dwaarikaa.

Meaning
ப⁴த்³ராம் ப⁴த்³ராம் - the virtuous Subhadraa; ப⁴வத்-அவரஜாம் - Thy younger sister; கௌரவேண-அர்த்²யமானாம் - by the Kaurava (Duryodhana) sought (in marriage); த்வத்-வாசா - by Thy words; தாம்-அஹ்ருத - her carried away; குஹனா-மஸ்கரீ - as a false sanyaasi; ஶக்ரஸூனு: - Indra's son Arjun; தத்ர க்ருத்³த⁴ம் ப³லம்- - there, enraged Balaraama; அனுனயன் ப்ரத்யகா³:- - pacifying (Thou) went; தேன ஸார்த⁴ம் - with him; ஶக்ரப்ரஸ்த²ம் - to Indraprastha; ப்ரிய-ஸக-²முதே³ - for dear friend's pleasure; ஸத்யபா⁴மா-ஸஹாய: - along with Satyabhaamaa;
Translation
Thy younger sister, the virtuous Subhadraa was sought in marriage by the Kuru prince Duryodhana. She was carried away by Indra's son Arjuna in the guise of an ascetic at Thy behest. Balaraama was enraged at this but was later pacified by Thee. Thou then went with him and Satyabhaamaa to Indraprastha to the great delight of Thy dear friend Arjuna.

Meaning
தத்ர க்ரீட³ன்-அபி ச - there sporting even and; யமுனா-கூல-த்³ருஷ்டாம் - on Yamuna's bank seen; க்³ருஹீத்வா தாம் காலிந்தீ³ம் - taking that Kaalindi; நக³ரம்-அக³ம: - to the city (Thou) went; கா²ண்ட³வ-ப்ரீணித-அக்³னி: - by the khandava forest pleasing the fire god; ப்⁴ராத்ரு-த்ரஸ்தாம் - of her brother afraid; ப்ரணய-விவஶாம் - in love (for Thee) helpless; தே³வ பைத்ருஷ்வஸேயீம் - O Lord! Thy father's sisters's daughter; ராஜ்ஞாம் மத்⁴யே - from among the kings; ஸபதி³ ஜஹ்ருஷே - quickly took away; மித்ரவிந்தா³ம்-அவந்தீம் - Mitravindaa, the princess of Avanti;
Translation
Even as Thou sported there, Thou saw Kaalindi on the banks of the river Yamuna and took her as Thy wife. Thou pleased the god of fire, Agni by letting him consume the Khaandava forest, and then returned to the city of Dwaarika. The princess of Avanti, Mitravindaa was the daughter of Thy father's sister and was greatly in love with Thee. She was afraid of her brother and was helpless. Thou took her away suddenly in the presence of many kings.

ஸத்யாம் க³த்வா புனருத³வஹோ நக்³னஜின்னந்த³னாம் தாம்

ஸ்தத்ஸோத³ர்யா வரத³ ப⁴வத: ஸாபி பைத்ருஷ்வஸேயீ ॥4॥
Meaning
ஸத்யாம் க³த்வா - Satya, going to; புன:-உத³வஹ: - again Thou married (Satya); நக்³னஜித்-னந்த³னாம் தாம் - Nagnajit's daughter her; ப³த்⁴வா ஸப்த-அபி - harnessing seven even; ச வ்ருஷ-வரான் - and bull's powerful; ஸப்த-மூர்தி:-னிமேஷாத் - by seven forms assuming; ப⁴த்³ராம் நாம - Bhadraa by name; ப்ரத³து³:-அத² - gave then; தே தே³வ - to Thee O Lord!; ஸந்தர்த³ன-ஆத்³யா:- - by Santardana and other; தத்-ஸோத்³ர்யா: - of her brothers; வரத³ ப⁴வத: - O Bestower of Boons! To Thee; ஸா-அபி பைத்ருஷ்வஸேயீ - she also was Thy father's sister's daughter;
Translation
Thou then went to Kausala and married the king Nagnajit's daughter after demonstrating Thy strength by harnessing seven powerful bulls simultaneously assuming seven forms. O Lord! Bhadraa's brothers Santardana and others gave her to Thee in marriage. O Bestower of Boons! she was also the daughter of Thy father's sister.

பார்தா²த்³யைரப்யக்ருதலவனம் தோயமாத்ராபி⁴லக்ஷ்யம்
லக்ஷம் சி²த்வா ஶப²ரமவ்ருதா² லக்ஷ்மணாம் மத்³ரகன்யாம் ।
அஷ்டாவேவம் தவ ஸமப⁴வன் வல்லபா⁴ஸ்தத்ர மத்⁴யே
ஶுஶ்ரோத² த்வம் ஸுரபதிகி³ரா பௌ⁴மது³ஶ்சேஷ்டிதானி ॥5॥
Meaning
பார்த-²ஆத்³யை:-அபி - by Arjuna and others also; அக்ருத-லவனம் - not pierced through; தோய-மாத்ர-அபி⁴லக்ஷ்யம் - in water alone reflected; லக்ஷம் சி²த்வா - the target, piercing; ஶப²ரம்-அவ்ருதா² - of a fish, married; லக்ஷ்மணாம் மந்த்³ரகன்யாம் - Lakshmanaa, the daughter of the king of Madra; அஷ்டௌ-ஏவம் - eight, in this manner; தவ ஸமப⁴வன் - Thy became; வல்லபா⁴:-தத்ர - wives, there also; மத்⁴யே ஶுஶ்ருத² - between all this, (Thou) heard; த்வம் ஸுரபதி-கி³ரா - Thou by Indra's words; பௌ⁴ம-து³ஷ்டசேஷ்டிதானி - Bhauma's evil deeds;
Translation
The target which was just a reflection of a fish in the water was not hit at even by Arjuna and the others. Striking which Thou married Lakshmanaa who was the daughter of the king of Madra. In this manner Thou had eight wives. Thou then came to know about the misdeeds of Bhauma from Indra's words.

Meaning
ஸ்ம்ருத-ஆயாதம் - (as and when) remembered, coming; பக்ஷிப்ரவரம்- - the divine bird (Garuda); அதி⁴ரூட:⁴-த்வம்-அக³ம: - riding on him Thou went; வஹன்-அங்கே - carrying on Thy lap; பா⁴மாம்-உபவனம்-இவ- - Satyabhaamaa, in a garden as if; அராதி-ப⁴வனம் - in the enemy's residence; விபி⁴ந்த³ன் து³ர்கா³ணி - destroying its fortification; த்ருடித-ப்ருதனா- - slaughtering the army; ஶோணித-ரஸை: - (with its) blood liquid; புரம் தாவத் - that city then; ப்ராக்³ஜ்யோதிஷம்- - Praagjyotisha; அகுருதா²: - made into; ஶோணிதபுரம் - Shonitpura;
Translation
Thou rode with Satyabhaamaa on Thy lap riding the divine bird Garuda, who came to Thee as and when required and remembered. Thou went to the residence of the enemy as if Thou were going to a garden. After destroying the fortification of the city of Praagjyotish, Thou killed the army and made the blood run all over the city. Thou soon converted the city of Praagjyotish into Shonitpura (the city of blood).

முரஸ்த்வாம் பஞ்சாஸ்யோ ஜலதி⁴வனமத்⁴யாது³த³பதத்
ஸ சக்ரே சக்ரேண ப்ரத³லிதஶிரா மங்க்ஷு ப⁴வதா ।

Meaning
முர:-த்வாம் - (the Asura) Mura (to) Thee; பஞ்ச-ஆஸ்ய: - the five faced one; ஜலதி⁴-வன-மத்⁴யாத்- - from the middle of the ocean like forest; உத³பதத் - rushed; ஸ சக்ரே சக்ரேண - he was made by the discus; ப்ரத³லித-ஶிரா - cut off heads; மங்க்ஷு ப⁴வதா - at once by Thee; சது:-த³ந்தை:- - by the four tusked; த³ந்தாவலபதிபி⁴:- - mighty elephants; இந்தா⁴ன-ஸமரம் - giving tough and protracted fight; ரதா²ங்கே³ன சி²த்வா - with Thy discus severing; நரகம்-அகரோ:- - to Narakaasur made; தீர்ண-னரகம் - pass over hell;
Translation
The Asura Mura having five faces rushed towards Thee from the middle of the forest which was like an ocean. He was at once made headless by Thy discus cutting off his five heads. Then Narakaasura with his regiment of mighty four tusked elephants gave a prolonged tough fight. Thou cut off his head also and made him pass over hell (and saved him from the suffering of hell).

ஸ்துத: பூ⁴ம்யா - hymns sung (to Thee) by Bhoomi Devi; ராஜ்யம் ஸபதி³ - the kingdom at once; ப⁴க³த³த்தே-அஸ்ய தனயே - to Bhagadatta his son; கஜ³ம்-ச-ஏகம் - and elephant one; த³த்வா ப்ரஜக⁴யித² - gave and sent away; நாகா³ன்-னிஜ-புரீம் - the elephants to Thy city; க²லேன-ஆப³த்³தா⁴னாம் - by the wicked (Narakaasura) imprisoned; ஸ்வக³த-மனஸாம் - whose minds were devoted to Thee; ஷோட³ஶ புன: ஸஹஸ்ராணி - sixteen again thousand (16000); ஸ்த்ரீணாம்-அபி ச - women also and; த⁴ன-ராஶிம் ச விபுலம் - wealth of great amount;
Translation
Bhumi Devi sang hymns in Thy praise. Thou at once gave the kingdom and an elephant to Narakaasur's son Bhagadatta. The rest of the elephants Thou sent away to Dwaarikaa along with a good amount of wealth. Thou also sent the 16000 women who nourished love for Thee, and were imprisoned by the wicked Narakaasura.

Meaning
பௌ⁴ம-அபாஹ்ருத-குண்ட³லம் - by Bhauma taken away the earrings; தத்-அதி³தே:-தா³தும் - that to Aditi to give; ப்ரயாத: தி³வம் - went to the heaven; ஶக்ர-ஆத்³யை:-மஹித: - by Indra and others honoured; ஸமம் த³யிதயா - with (Thy) wife; த்³யு-ஸ்த்ரீஷு - the women of the heaven; த்³த்த-ஹ்ரியா - putting to shame; ஹ்ருத்வா கல்பதரும் - taking away the Kalpataru; ருஷா-அபி⁴பதிதம் - in anger having attacked; ஜித்வா-இந்த்³ரம்- - winning over Indra; அப்⁴யாக³ம:- - returned; தத்-து ஶ்ரீ-மத-³தோ³ஷ - that indeed is prosperity caused arrogance; ஈத்³ருஶ இதி - comes to this; வ்யாக்²யாதும்-ஏவ-அக்ருதா²: - demonstrate only (Thou) did;
Translation
To give back to Aditi the ear ornaments which were taken away by Narakaasura, Thou went to the heaven. Satyabhaamaa had accompanied Thee who put to shame the women there, with her beauty. Thou were received with honour by Indra and others. Thou took away the Kalpataru, at which, the angered Indra put up a fight. Thou won over him and returned to Thy city. Thou did this to demonstrate to the world the evil which is generated from prosperity.

Meaning
கல்பத்³ரும் - the Kalpa tree; ஸத்யபா⁴மா-ப⁴வன-பு⁴வி - in Satyabhaamaa's palace courtyard; ஸ்ருஜன் - planting; த்³வ்ய-அஷ்ட-ஸாஹஸ்ர- - twice eight thousand; யோஷா: ஸ்வீக்ருத்ய - women accepting; ப்ரதி-ஆகா³ரம் - in every house; விஹித-ப³ஹு-வபு:- - taking on many forms; லாலயன் கேலிபே⁴தை³: - nurturing with various activities; ஆஶ்சர்யாத்-னாரத-³ - surprisingly by Naarada; ஆலோகித-விவித-⁴க³தி:- - seen (in) different activities engaged; தத்ர தத்ர-அபி கே³ஹே - in each of those houses; பூ⁴ய: ஸர்வாஸு குர்வன் - again to all of them giving; த்³ஶ த³ஶ தனயான் - ten sons each; பாஹி வாதாலயேஶ - save O Lord of Guruvaayur!;
Translation
Thou planted the Kalpa tree in the courtyard of Satyabhaamaa's palace. The 16000 women were accepted by Thee as wives. Thou took on as many forms and engaged Thyself in each of those houses of these wives in various activities and lovingly nurtured them. Naarada was surprised to see Thee sporting in this manner. Thou then gave each of them ten sons. O Lord of Guruvaayur save me.
