விஷ்ணோர்வீர்யாணி கோ வா கத²யது த⁴ரணே: கஶ்ச ரேணூன்மிமீதே
யஸ்யைவாங்க்⁴ரித்ரயேண த்ரிஜக³த³பி⁴மிதம் மோத³தே பூர்ணஸம்பத்
யோஸௌ விஶ்வானி த⁴த்தே ப்ரியமிஹ பரமம் தா⁴ம தஸ்யாபி⁴யாயாம்
த்வத்³ப⁴க்தா யத்ர மாத்³யந்த்யம்ருதரஸமரந்த³ஸ்ய யத்ர ப்ரவாஹ: ॥1॥
Meaning
விஷ்ணோ:-வீர்யாணி - the glories of Vishnu; க: வா கத²யது - who can recount; த⁴ரணே: க:-ச ரேணூன்-மிமீதே - and of the earth, who, the sand particles, can count,; யஸ்ய-ஏவ-அங்க்⁴ரி-த்ரயேண - by the three strides of whose feet alone; த்ரி-ஜக³த்-அபி⁴மிதம் - the three worlds were measured; மோத³தே பூர்ண-ஸம்பத் - and is joyous all wealth and prosperities; ய:-அஸௌ விஶ்வானி த⁴த்தே - who this world supports; ப்ரியம்-இஹ பரமம் தா⁴ம - this loving, to me, the supreme abode; தஸ்ய-அபி⁴யாயாம் - of His, may I attain; த்வத்-ப⁴க்தா:-யத்ர மாத்³யந்தி- - Thy devotees where are blissful; அம்ருத-ரஸ-மரந்த³ஸ்ய - and the immortality juice honey; யத்ர ப்ரவாஹ: - where flows;
Translation
Who can recount the glories of the All Pervading Lord Vishnu or count the sand particles of the universe? The three strides of His feet alone measured the three worlds, and the worlds are full of joy with wealth and prosperity because of the touch of His feet. He alone is the support of the worlds. His supreme abode is dear to me and may I attain it, where Thy devotees enjoy bliss and the honey juice of immortality flows free.

ஆத்³யாயாஶேஷகர்த்ரே ப்ரதினிமிஷனவீனாய ப⁴ர்த்ரே விபூ⁴தே-
ர்ப⁴க்தாத்மா விஷ்ணவே ய: ப்ரதி³ஶதி ஹவிராதீ³னி யஜ்ஞார்சனாதௌ³ ।
க்ருஷ்ணாத்³யம் ஜன்ம யோ வா மஹதி³ஹ மஹதோ வர்ணயேத்ஸோயமேவ
ப்ரீத: பூர்ணோ யஶோபி⁴ஸ்த்வரிதமபி⁴ஸரேத் ப்ராப்யமந்தே பத³ம் தே ॥2॥
Meaning
ஆத்³யாய-அஶேஷ-கர்த்ரே - for the Eternal, (the one) who created everything; ப்ரதி-னிமிஷ-னவீனாய - (one who is) every moment new; ப⁴ர்த்ரே விபூ⁴தே:- - (one who is) Lord of all majesties; ப⁴க்தாத்மா விஷ்ணவே ய: - a devotee, to Vishnu, who; ப்ரதி³ஶதி ஹவி:-ஆதீ³னி - offers sacrifices etc.,; யஜ்ஞ-அர்சன-ஆதௌ³ - through Yangya worship etc.,; க்ருஷ்ணாத்³யம் ஜன்ம ய: வா - Krishna and other (incarnations) birth, or who; மஹத்-இஹ மஹத: - great among the greatest here; வர்ணயேத்-ஸ:-அயம்-ஏவ - describes, he such alone; ப்ரீத: பூர்ண: - happy and full; யஶோபி⁴:-த்வரிதம்- - of renown, quickly; அபி⁴ஸரேத் ப்ராப்யம்- - attains, the to be attained; அந்தே பத³ம் தே - in the end, abode of Thine;
Translation
A devotee who offers sacrifices through Yangya worship etc., to Vishnu, the one who existed before the creation, one who created everything, one who is every moment new, who is Lord of all majesties, or a devotee who describes the incarnations of Lord, like that of Krishna, which is the greatest, he alone will be happy and full of renown, and at the end of his life will quickly attain the abode which is to be attained in the end - Thy abode.

ஹே ஸ்தோதார: கவீந்த்³ராஸ்தமிஹ க²லு யதா² சேதயத்⁴வே ததை²வ
வ்யக்தம் வேத³ஸ்ய ஸாரம் ப்ரணுவத ஜனநோபாத்தலீலாகதா²பி⁴: ।

Meaning
ஹே ஸ்தோதார: கவீந்த்³ரா:- - O you poet laudators; தம்-இஹ க²லு - Him, here indeed; யதா² சேதயத்⁴வே ததா²-ஏவ - in which ever way you understand, in that way only; வ்யக்தம் வேத³ஸ்ய ஸாரம் ப்ரணுவத - the clear essence of the Vedas, praise; ஜனந-உபாத்த-லீலா-கதா²பி⁴: - incarnation including sportive deeds narrations; ஜானந்த:-ச-அஸ்ய - and understanding His; நாமானி-அகி²ல- - names, limitless; ஸுக-²கராணீ-இதி - happiness conferring, thus; ஸங்கீர்தயத்⁴வம் - chant whole heartedly; ஹே விஷ்ணோ - O Lord Vishnu!; கீர்தன-ஆத்³யை:-தவ - by chanting etc of Thy (names etc.,); க²லு மஹத:-தத்த்வ-போ³த⁴ம் - indeed, the Great, the knowledge of Truth; பஜ⁴ேயம் - will attain;
Translation
O you poets, who sing the praise of the kings women etc., in whatever way you know, sing the praise of the Lord who is clear essence of all the Vedas, narrating His deeds in various incarnations. Understand that the chanting of His names confers limitless happiness, and so chant them whole heartedly. O Lord Vishnu! by chanting the names of Thee The Great, I will attain the knowledge of the Truth.

Meaning
விஷ்ணோ: கர்மாணி - Mahaa Vishnu's deeds; ஸம்பஶ்யத மனஸி - reflect on, in the mind; ஸதா³ யை: ஸ - always, by which He; த⁴ர்மான்-அப³த்⁴னாத்- - Dharma (righteousness) established; யானி-இந்த்³ரஸ்ய-ஏஷ - which (deeds) for Indra, He; ப்⁴ருத்ய: ப்ரியஸக² இவ ச - as a servant and as a friend; வ்யாதனோத் க்ஷேமகாரீ - carried out, welfare bringing,; வீக்ஷந்தே யோக³ஸித்³தா⁴: - is experienced by Yogis and Siddhaas; பரபத³ம்-அனிஶம் - the transcendent Supreme state, always; யஸ்ய ஸம்யக்-ப்ரகாஶம் - whose, well illumined; விப்ரேந்த்³ரா:-ஜாக³ரூகா: - great holy men, and scholars; க்ருத-ப³ஹு-னுதய: - composing many hymns; யத்-ச நிர்பா⁴ஸயந்தே - whom try to expound;
Translation
One should always meditate on the great deeds of Lord Mahaa Vishnu, by which He established righteousness, and by which He helped Indra sometimes as a servant, and some times as a friend, bringing welfare to him and to the whole world. The Lord's supreme state and well illumined Pure Consciousness is experienced by Yogis and Siddhas. Whose greatness great holy men and scholars try to expound by composing many hymns of praise.
ஶ்லோக:
நோ ஜாதோ ஜாயமானோபி ச ஸமதி⁴க³தஸ்த்வன்மஹிம்னோவஸானம்
தே³வ ஶ்ரேயாம்ஸி வித்³வான் ப்ரதிமுஹுரபி தே நாம ஶம்ஸாமி விஷ்ணோ ।
தம் த்வாம் ஸம்ஸ்தௌமி நானாவித⁴னுதிவசனைரஸ்ய லோகத்ரயஸ்யா-
ப்யூர்த்⁴வம் விப்⁴ராஜமானே விரசிதவஸதிம் தத்ர வைகுண்ட²லோகே ॥5॥
Meaning
நோ ஜாத:-ஜாயமான:-அபி ச - not,those born and also those being born now; ஸமதி⁴க³த:-த்வத்-மஹிம்ன:- - have understood Thy majesty (glory); அவஸானம் - the limit (limitlessness); தே³வ ஶ்ரேயாம்ஸி வித்³வான் - O Lord! Welfare promoting, knowing; ப்ரதி-முஹு:-அபி - every moment also; தே நாம ஶம்ஸாமி விஷ்ணோ - Thy name I will chant O Vishnu!; தம் த்வாம் ஸம்ஸ்தௌமி - That Thee, I will prise; நானாவித-⁴னுதி-வசனை:- - by various different hymns invoking; அஸ்ய லோக-த்ரயஸ்ய- - of these three world's; அபி-ஊர்த்⁴வம் விப்⁴ராஜமானே - also above shining; விரசித-வஸதிம் - created and residing in; தத்ர வைகுண்ட²லோகே - that Vaikunthloka;
Translation
Those born and those being born now, have not understood Thy limitless majesty and glory. O Lord! Knowing that the chanting of Thy names is welfare promoting, I will every moment chant Thy names. O Vishnu! I will praise Thee by various different hymns invoking Thee who do reside in the Vaikunthaloka which shines transcending the three worlds.

ஆப: ஸ்ருஷ்ட்யாதி³ஜன்யா: ப்ரத²மமயி விபோ⁴ க³ர்ப⁴தே³ஶே த³து⁴ஸ்த்வாம்
யத்ர த்வய்யேவ ஜீவா ஜலஶயன ஹரே ஸங்க³தா ஐக்யமாபன் ।

Meaning
ஆப: ஸ்ருஷ்டி-ஆதி³-ஜன்யா: - water, in the creations beginning was created; ப்ரத²மம்-அயி விபோ⁴ - at first, O Lord of the Universe!; க³ர்ப-⁴தே³ஶே த³து⁴:-த்வாம் - inside themselves held Thee; யத்ர த்வயி-ஏவ ஜீவா: - where, in Thee alone, the jeevas; ஜலஶயன ஹரே - O Lord Reclining in the Waters!; ஸங்க³தா:-ஐக்யம்-ஆபன் - came together and merger getting; தஸ்ய-அஜஸ்ய ப்ரபோ⁴ தே - of that birthless Lord! Of Thee; வினிஹிதம்-அப⁴வத் - placed remained; பத்³மம்-ஏகம் ஹி நாபௌ⁴ - lotus one, indeed in (Thy) naval; தி³க்-பத்ரம் யத் கில-ஆஹு: - the quarters were petals of which, indeed is said; கனகத⁴ரணிப்⁴ருத் - the golden mountain; கர்ணிகம் லோக-ரூபம் - the pericarp constituting the worlds;
Translation
O Lord of the Universe! At first, at the beginning of the creation water came into existence and held Thee into themselves. O Lord Reclining on the Waters! All the jeevas then were merged and held in Thy being. On Thee the Birthless Lord! There rose one lone lotus from Thy naval with eight petals representing the eight quarters and the golden mountain (Mahaameru) as its pericarp representing all the worlds.
ஶ்லோக:
ஹே லோகா விஷ்ணுரேதத்³பு⁴வனமஜனயத்தன்ன ஜானீத² யூயம்
யுஷ்மாகம் ஹ்யந்தரஸ்த²ம் கிமபி தத³பரம் வித்³யதே விஷ்ணுரூபம் ।
நீஹாரப்ரக்²யமாயாபரிவ்ருதமனஸோ மோஹிதா நாமரூபை:
ப்ராணப்ரீத்யேகத்ருப்தாஶ்சரத² மக²பரா ஹந்த நேச்சா² முகுந்தே³ ॥7॥
Meaning
ஹே லோகா - O men!; விஷ்ணு:-ஏதத்-பு⁴வனம்-அஜனயத்- - Vishnu this world created; தத்-ன ஜானீத² யூயம் - that do not know you all; யுஷ்மாகம் ஹி-அந்தரஸ்த²ம் - of you all inside resides; கிமபி தத்-பரம் - another indescribable; வித்³யதே விஷ்ணுரூபம் - there remains Vishnu's form; நீஹார-ப்ரக்²ய-மாயா- - mist like Maayaa; பரிவ்ருத-மனஸ: - covered minds; மோஹிதா: நாம-ரூபை: - infatuated by names and shapes; ப்ராண-ப்ரீதி-ஏக-த்ருப்தா:- - sense enjoyments alone satisfied with; சரத² மக²பரா - you are living inclined towards sacrifices; ஹந்த ந-இச்சா² முகுந்தே³ - alas! (you) do not covet Mukund;
Translation
O men! You all do not know that Vishnu is the creator of this world. You also do not know that he resides in a subtle form within you. With your minds covered with the mist of Maayaa, you are infatuated by names and shapes, performing sacrifices with the aim of living a life deeming sense satisfaction the sole meaning of life. Alas! you do not covet Mukunda (Krishna).

மூர்த்⁴னாமக்ஷ்ணாம் பதா³னாம் வஹஸி க²லு ஸஹஸ்ராணி ஸம்பூர்ய விஶ்வம்
தத்ப்ரோத்க்ரம்யாபி திஷ்ட²ன் பரிமிதவிவரே பா⁴ஸி சித்தாந்தரேபி ।
பூ⁴தம் ப⁴வ்யம் ச ஸர்வம் பரபுருஷ ப⁴வான் கிஞ்ச தே³ஹேந்த்³ரியாதி³-
ஷ்வாவிஷ்டோப்யுத்³க³தத்வாத³ம்ருதஸுக²ரஸம் சானுபு⁴ங்க்ஷே த்வமேவ ॥8॥
Meaning
மூர்த்⁴னாம்-அக்ஷ்ணாம் - of heads, of eyes; பதா³னாம் வஹஸி க²லு - of feet, undertake indeed; ஸஹஸ்ராணி - thousands; ஸம்பூர்ய விஶ்வம் - filling the universe; தத்-ப்ரோத்க்ரம்ய-அபி - that transcending also; திஷ்ட²ன் பரிமித-விவரே - established in a limited cavity; பா⁴ஸி-சித்த-அந்தரே-அபி - (Thou) do shine inside the hearts also (of beings); பூ⁴தம் ப⁴வ்யம் ச ஸர்வம் - past future and everything; பரபுருஷ ப⁴வான் - O Supreme Being Thou!; கிஞ்ச தே³ஹ-இந்த்³ரிய-ஆதி³ஷு- - what more, in body, senses etc.,; ஆவிஷ்ட:-அபி- - entering also; உத்³க³தத்வாத்- - being beyond all that; அம்ருத-ஸுக-²ரஸம் - liberation bliss nectar; ச-அனுபு⁴ங்க்ஷே த்வம்-ஏவ - do enjoy Thou alone;
Translation
O Supreme Being! Thou do have thousands of heads eyes and feet which fill the whole world, yet transcending it all, Thou do reside in the limited cavity of the inner most heart of beings. Thou are everything in the past future and now. Besides, what more, though Thou have entered the body senses etc., Thou alone transcend all this and enjoy the bliss of the liberation nectar.

யத்து த்ரைலோக்யரூபம் த³த⁴த³பி ச ததோ நிர்க³தோனந்தஶுத்³த-⁴
ஜ்ஞானாத்மா வர்தஸே த்வம் தவ க²லு மஹிமா ஸோபி தாவான் கிமன்யத் ।
ஸ்தோகஸ்தே பா⁴க³ ஏவாகி²லபு⁴வனதயா த்³ருஶ்யதே த்ர்யம்ஶகல்பம்
பூ⁴யிஷ்ட²ம் ஸாந்த்³ரமோதா³த்மகமுபரி ததோ பா⁴தி தஸ்மை நமஸ்தே ॥9॥
Meaning
யத்-து த்ரைலோக்ய-ரூபம் த³த⁴த்- - because of, the three world's form, taking on; அபி ச தத: நிர்க³த:- - and also from that transcending; அனந்த-ஶுத்³த-⁴ஜ்ஞான-ஆத்மா - Eternal Pure Knowledge Consciousness; வர்தஸே த்வம் தவ க²லு - do remain Thou, Thy indeed; மஹிமா ஸ:-அபி - greatness that also; தாவான் கிம்-அன்யத் - is so great, what more; ஸ்தோக:-தே பா⁴க:³ - a small of Thy part; ஏவ அகி²ல-பு⁴வன-தயா - alone is whole world encompassing; த்³ருஶ்யதே த்ர்யம்ஶ-கல்பம் - is seen, three parts, about; பூ⁴யிஷ்ட²ம் ஸாந்த்³ர-மோத-³ஆத்மகம்- - the major, intense bliss bearing; உபரி தத: பா⁴தி - above all that shines; தஸ்மை நம:-தே - for That Thee salutation to Thee;
Translation
O Infinite Being! Having taken on the form of the three worlds, Thou do transcend all that. Thou remain the Eternal Pure Knowledge Consciousness. What more, Thy greatness is so great that only a small part of it is seen as encompassing the whole world. The major three fourth part is intense bliss bearing, and shines above and beyond all. To That Thee salutations.

அவ்யக்தம் தே ஸ்வரூபம் து³ரதி⁴க³மதமம் தத்து ஶுத்³தை⁴கஸத்த்வம்
வ்யக்தம் சாப்யேததே³வ ஸ்பு²டமம்ருதரஸாம்போ⁴தி⁴கல்லோலதுல்யம் ।
ஸர்வோத்க்ருஷ்டாமபீ⁴ஷ்டாம் ததி³ஹ கு³ணரஸேனைவ சித்தம் ஹரந்தீம்
மூர்திம் தே ஸம்ஶ்ரயேஹம் பவனபுரபதே பாஹி மாம் க்ருஷ்ண ரோகா³த் ॥1௦॥
Meaning
அவ்யக்தம் தே ஸ்வரூபம் - non-manifested Thy nature (the Nirguna form); து³ரதி⁴க³மதமம் - is very difficult to grasp; தத்-து ஶுத்³த-⁴ஏக-ஸத்த்வம் - that also pure and Sattvic; வ்யக்தம் ச-அபி- - graspable and also; ஏதத்-ஏவ ஸ்பு²டம்- - this alone is clear (manifested form); அம்ருத-ரஸ-அம்போ⁴தி⁴- - liberation nectar's ocean; கல்லோல-துல்யம் - waves like; ஸர்வோத்க்ருஷ்டாம்-அபீ⁴ஷ்டாம் தத்-இஹ - the most superior, most dear/lovable that here; கு³ண-ரஸேன-ஏவ சித்தம் ஹரந்தீம் - by its qualities and attribute, attract the mind; மூர்திம் தே ஸம்ஶ்ரயே-அஹம் - Thy idol (form) resort to I; பவனபுரபதே பாஹி மாம் - O Lord of Guruvaayur! Save me; க்ருஷ்ண ரோகா³த் - O Krishna! From disease;
Translation
Thy unmanifested formless Being (Nirguna) is very difficult to grasp, whereas Thy form of pure Satva (Saguna) can easily be grasped. This form is clear and is like a wave on the ocean of liberation nectar. It is the most superior dear and lovable, with its attributes and qualities attracting the mind. To That Thy idol form I resort to. O Lord of Guruvaayur! Shri Krishna! save me from all diseases.
