Meaning
𑌹𑌿𑌰𑌣𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍇 (𑌹𑌤𑍇) - (when) Hiranyaaksha (was killed); 𑌪𑍋𑌤𑍍𑌰𑌿-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌵𑌰-𑌵𑌪𑍁𑌷𑌾 - by (Thee) in the form of the exalted Boar; 𑌦𑍇𑌵 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑌾 - O Lord! By Thee; 𑌹𑌤𑍇 - was killed (then); 𑌶𑍋𑌕-𑌕𑍍𑌰𑍋𑌧-𑌗𑍍𑌲𑌪𑌿𑌤-𑌧𑍃𑌤𑌿𑌃- - (his brother) who had lost mental balance due to grief and anger; 𑌏𑌤𑌸𑍍𑌯 𑌸𑌹𑌜𑌃 - his brother; 𑌹𑌿𑌰𑌣𑍍𑌯-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌰𑌂𑌭𑌃 𑌕𑌶𑌿𑌪𑍁𑌃- - Kashipu' whose name started with 'Hiranya'; 𑌅𑌮𑌰-𑌅𑌰𑌾𑌤𑌿-𑌸𑌦𑌸𑌿 - in the assembly of the enemy of the Devas (ie Asuras); 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌤𑌿𑌜𑍍𑌞𑌾𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌤𑍇𑌨𑍇 - an oath took; 𑌤𑌵 𑌕𑌿𑌲 𑌵𑌧𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌥𑌂 - for killing Thee, it is said; 𑌮𑌧𑍁𑌰𑌿𑌪𑍋 - O Lord! Slayer of Madhu;

Translation
O Lord! Slayer of Madhu! When Hiranyaaksha was killed by Thee, incarnate as the Divine Boar, his brother named Hiranyakashipu was smitten with sorrow and anger. In the assembly of the Asuras he swore to kill Thee.

Meaning
𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌾𑌤𑌾𑌰𑌂 𑌘𑍋𑌰𑌂 - to Brahmaa, with intensity; 𑌸 𑌖𑌲𑍁 𑌤𑌪𑌸𑌿𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾 - he, indeed, performed austerities; 𑌨-𑌚𑌿𑌰𑌤𑌃 𑌪𑍁𑌰𑌃 𑌸𑌾𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌨𑍍 - soon, caused him to appear; 𑌸𑍁𑌰-𑌨𑌰-𑌮𑍃𑌗-𑌆𑌦𑍍𑌯𑍈𑌃- - by god, man, beast etc; 𑌅𑌨𑌿𑌧𑌨𑌂 𑌵𑌰𑌂 𑌲𑌬𑍍𑌧𑍍𑌵𑌾 - of not being killed, the boon getting; 𑌦𑍍𑌪𑍍𑌤𑌃 - (became) arrogant; 𑌜𑌗𑌤𑍍-𑌇𑌹 - here, in this world; 𑌭𑌵𑌨𑍍-𑌨𑌾𑌯𑌕𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌦𑌂 - which has Thee for its Lord; 𑌪𑌰𑌿𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍁𑌂𑌦𑌨𑍍- - tormenting; 𑌇𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌅𑌹𑌰𑌤𑍍 𑌦𑌿𑌵𑌂 - from Indra, snatched the heavens; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌗𑌣𑍍𑌯𑌨𑍍 - disregarding Thee;

Translation
He quickly compelled Brahmaa to appear before him by performing severe austerities and made him give a boon that he would not be killed by god, man or beast etc. As a result of the boon he became arrogant and tormented the whole world which has Thee as its Lord. Disregarding Thee, he even snatched the heavens from Indra.

𑌨𑌿𑌹𑌂𑌤𑍁𑌂 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌂 𑌭𑍂𑌯𑌃- - to kill Thee then; 𑌤𑌵 𑌪𑌦𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌵𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌤𑌸𑍍𑌯 - who had reached Thy abode; 𑌚 𑌰𑌿𑌪𑍋𑌃-𑌬𑌹𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌦𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍇𑌃- - and from (this) enemy's physical eyes; 𑌅𑌂𑌤𑌰𑍍𑌦𑌧𑌿𑌥 - (Thou) disappeared; 𑌹𑍃𑌦𑌯𑍇 𑌸𑍂𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍍𑌮-𑌵𑌪𑍁𑌷𑌾 - into the heart, in a subtle form; 𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌨𑍍-𑌉𑌚𑍍𑌚𑍈𑌃-𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌰-𑌅𑌪𑌿- - roaring loudly, even there (in Vaikuntha); 𑌅𑌖𑌿𑌲-𑌭𑍁𑌵𑌨𑍍-𑌅𑌂𑌤𑍇 𑌚 - and in all the other worlds as well; 𑌮𑍃𑌗𑌯𑌨𑍍 - searching; 𑌭𑌿𑌯𑌾 𑌯𑌾𑌤𑌂 𑌮𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾 - (Thou had) gone away for fear, thinking; 𑌸 𑌖𑌲𑍁 𑌜𑌿𑌤𑌕𑌾𑌶𑍀 - he ,indeed, thought that he had won; 𑌨𑌿𑌵𑌵𑍃𑌤𑍇 - returned;

Translation
To kill Thee, he even went to Thy abode Vaikuntha. Thou disappeared from his gross vision and entered into his heart in a subtle form. Roaring aloud he searched for Thee in all the three worlds, and not finding Thee, he thought that Thou had fled in fear. Considering himself the winner he returned home.

𑌤𑌤𑌃-𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌯 - then, to him; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌹𑍍𑌲𑌾𑌦𑌃 𑌸𑌮𑌜𑌨𑌿 𑌸𑍁𑌤𑌃 - Prahlaad was born as a son; 𑌗𑌰𑍍𑌭𑌵𑌸𑌤𑍌 - while still in the womb; 𑌮𑍁𑌨𑍇𑌃-𑌵𑍀𑌣𑌾-𑌪𑌾𑌣𑍇𑌃- - from the sage Naarada; 𑌅𑌧𑌿𑌗𑌤- - learning; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿-𑌮𑌹𑌿𑌮𑌾 - the glory of devotion to Thee; 𑌸 𑌵𑍈 𑌜𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌾 𑌦𑍈𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌃 - though he was by birth an Asura; 𑌶𑌿𑌶𑍁𑌃-𑌅𑌪𑌿 - and a child also; 𑌸𑌮𑍇𑌤𑍍𑌯 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌿 𑌰𑌤𑌿𑌂 - attaining,love towards Thee, intense love; 𑌗𑌤𑌃 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍 𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌾𑌨𑌾𑌮𑍍 - (he) became, among Thy devotees; 𑌵𑌰𑌦 - O Bestower of Boons!; 𑌪𑌰𑌮-𑌉𑌦𑌾𑌹𑌰𑌣𑌤𑌾𑌮𑍍 (𑌗𑌤𑌃) - the most outstanding example;

Translation
To him was born a son named Prahlaad. Even when he was in the womb, he had learnt the glory of devotion to Thee from sage Naarada. Though by birth he was an Asura, and just a child, O Bestower of Boons! He had intense love for Thee, and became the most outstanding example for all Thy devotees.

𑌸𑍁𑌰𑌾𑌰𑍀𑌣𑌾𑌂 𑌹𑌾𑌸𑍍𑌯𑌂 - the ridicule of the Asuras; 𑌤𑌵 𑌚𑌰𑌣-𑌦𑌾𑌸𑍍𑌯𑌂 - (and) devotion to Thy feet; 𑌨𑌿𑌜-𑌸𑍁𑌤𑍇 𑌸 𑌦𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍍𑌵𑌾 - of his son, he seeing; 𑌦𑍁𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌾 - the evil minded (Hiranyakashipu); 𑌗𑍁𑌰𑍁𑌭𑌿𑌃-𑌅𑌶𑌿𑌶𑌿𑌕𑍍𑌷𑌤𑍍- - by the teachers made (him) learn; 𑌚𑌿𑌰𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌮𑍁𑌮𑍍 - him for a long time; 𑌗𑍁𑌰𑍁-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑍋𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌂 𑌚-𑌅𑌸𑍌- - and (but) he, all that was said by the teachers; 𑌇𑌦𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌦𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌭𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌯 𑌦𑍃𑌢𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌤𑌿 - all this will certainly cause evil, thus; 𑌅𑌪𑌾𑌕𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌨𑍍 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌂 - rejecting all; 𑌤𑌵 𑌚𑌰𑌣 𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌾-𑌏𑌵 - by devotion to Thy feet alone; 𑌵𑌵𑍃𑌧𑍇 - grew up;

Translation
The evil minded Hiranyakashipu had Prahlaad brain washed by competent instructors for long, because he saw signs of devotion to Thee and also the ridicule of the Asuras in his son. He however rejected all their teachings as leading only to evil and grew up with his devotional zeal.

𑌅𑌧𑍀𑌤𑍇𑌷𑍁 𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍇𑌷𑍍𑌠𑌂 𑌕𑌿𑌮𑍍- - among what (you have) learned, what is the best?'; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌪𑌰𑌿𑌪𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍇- - thus when asked; 𑌅𑌥 𑌤𑌨𑌯𑍇 - then the son,; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌂 𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌮𑍍- - devotion to Thee as the greatest; 𑌅𑌭𑌿𑌗𑌦𑌤𑌿 - replied; 𑌪𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌕𑍁𑌲-𑌧𑍃𑌤𑌿𑌃 - (He, hiranyakashipu) agitation minded; 𑌗𑍁𑌰𑍁𑌭𑍍𑌯𑌃 𑌰𑍋𑌷𑌿𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾 - (and) got angry with the teachers; 𑌸𑌹𑌜-𑌮𑌤𑌿𑌃-𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌯- - (this) is his natural inclination'; 𑌇𑌤𑌿-𑌅𑌭𑌿𑌵𑌿𑌦𑌨𑍍 - thus understanding; 𑌵𑌧𑍋𑌪𑌾𑌯𑌾𑌨𑍍- - means of killing; 𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌿𑌨𑍍 𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌤𑌨𑍁𑌤 - him (Prahlaad) planned; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑌾𑌦-𑌶𑌰𑌣𑍇 - at Thy feet, who had taken refuge;

Translation
On being asked about what was the best that he had learned, he answered that devotion to Thee was the greatest. Agitated at this, Hiranyakashipu was very angry with the teachers, but they told him that this was his son's natural inclination. At this he started planning ways to kill Prahlaad who was Thy great devotee, having taken refuge at Thy feet.

O All Pervading Supreme Being! What a wonder! Though he was pierced with tridents many times, trampled again and again by herds of huge elephants, bitten by great serpents, starved, poisoned and thrown down from the mountain peaks,he did not feel any suffering as his mind was completely fixed on Thee.

𑌤𑌤𑌃 𑌶𑌂𑌕𑌾-𑌆𑌵𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌃 𑌸𑌃 𑌪𑍁𑌨𑌃- - then being frightened, he again; 𑌅𑌤𑌿-𑌦𑍁𑌷𑍍𑌟𑌃-𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌯 𑌜𑌨𑌕𑌃 - very cruel, his father,; 𑌗𑍁𑌰𑍁-𑌉𑌕𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌾 - following the advice of the teacher; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌗𑍇𑌹𑍇 𑌕𑌿𑌲 - in his (teacher's) house, it appears; 𑌵𑌰𑍁𑌣-𑌪𑌾𑌶𑍈𑌃- - with ropes; 𑌤𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌰𑍁𑌣𑌤𑍍 - tied him up; 𑌗𑍁𑌰𑍋𑌃-𑌚-𑌅𑌸𑌾𑌨𑍍𑌨𑌿𑌧𑍍𑌯𑍇 - and when the teacher was not present; 𑌸𑌃 𑌪𑍁𑌨𑌃- - he (Prahlaada) again; 𑌅𑌨𑍁𑌗𑌾𑌨𑍍 𑌦𑍈𑌤𑍍𑌯-𑌤𑌨𑌯𑌾𑌨𑍍 - (with the ) Asura boys who were with him; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑍇𑌃-𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍 - the real nature of devotion to Thee; 𑌪𑌰𑌮𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌪𑌿 𑌵𑌿𑌜𑍍𑌞𑌾𑌨𑌮𑍍- - and also the Supreme knowledge; 𑌅𑌶𑌿𑌷𑌤𑍍 - taught;

Translation
The very cruel father was frightened at this. At the advice of the teacher, Prahlaad was tied up with ropes at the teacher's house. But whenever the teacher was away, Prahlaad began to teach the Asura boys, who were with him, the doctrine of love for, and knowledge of Thee.

Meaning
𑌪𑌿𑌤𑌾 𑌶𑍃𑌣𑍍𑌵𑌨𑍍 - (the) father on hearing; 𑌬𑌾𑌲-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌕𑌰𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌖𑌿𑌲𑌂 - (that) all the groups of boys; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍁𑌤𑌿-𑌪𑌰𑌂 - are intent on singing Thy praise; 𑌰𑍁𑌷𑌾𑌂𑌧𑌃 - blinded by rage; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌹-𑌏𑌨𑌂 - asked him; 𑌕𑍁𑌲𑌹𑌤𑌕 𑌕𑌃-𑌤𑍇 𑌬𑌲𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌤𑌿 - O traitor of our race, who is your strength (support)?; 𑌬𑌲𑌂 𑌮𑍇 𑌵𑍈𑌕𑍁𑌂𑌠𑌃- - My strength is Vishnu,; 𑌤𑌵 𑌚 - and your's,; 𑌜𑌗𑌤𑌾𑌂 𑌚-𑌅𑌪𑌿 𑌸 𑌬𑌲𑌂 - of the whole universe also He is th strength,; 𑌸 𑌏𑌵 𑌤𑍍𑌰𑍈𑌲𑍋𑌕𑍍𑌯𑌂 𑌸𑌕𑌲𑌮𑍍- - He alone is the three worlds as a whole',; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌧𑍀𑌰𑌃-𑌅𑌯𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌗𑌦𑍀𑌤𑍍 - thus, that courageous and wise boy replied;

Translation
Hearing that all the boys were now singing Thy praise, Hiranyakashipu became blind with rage. He shouted at Prahlaad that the traitor that he was, who was his strength? That courageous boy replied that Lord Vishnu was his strength, in as much as He was also his (father's) strength and of the whole universe. Also that the three worlds were his manifestation indeed.

Translation
O where is he? Where is he? The soul of all the worlds who is known as Hari? The son of Diti asking struck the pillar brandishing the sword. O Vishnu! O Lord! What happened then I am unable to describe immediately. O All Merciful! O All pervading One! O resident of Guruvaayur! Deign to make me whole.
