Meaning
𑌕𑍍𑌰𑌮𑍇𑌣 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌗𑍇 - gradually,as creation; 𑌪𑌰𑌿𑌵𑌰𑍍𑌧𑌮𑌾𑌨𑍇 - was progressing; 𑌕𑌦𑌾𑌪𑌿 - once; 𑌦𑌿𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌃 𑌸𑌨𑌕𑌾𑌦𑌯𑌃 𑌤𑍇 - those divine (sages) Sanaka and others; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌵𑌿𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌾𑌯 - to see Thee; 𑌵𑌿𑌕𑍁𑌂𑌠𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌂 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌪𑍇𑌦𑌿𑌰𑍇 - reached Vaikunthloka; 𑌮𑌾𑌰𑍁𑌤𑌮𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌰𑍇𑌶 - O Lord of Guruvaayur;

Translation
O Lord of Guruvaayur! as creation progressed, the divine sages Sanaka and the others wanting to pay their respects to Thee went to Vaikuntha loka.

𑌰𑌨𑍇𑌕𑌵𑌾𑌪𑍀𑌮𑌣𑌿𑌮𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌰𑍈𑌶𑍍𑌚 ।
𑌅𑌨𑍋𑌪𑌮𑌂 𑌤𑌂 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍋 𑌨𑌿𑌕𑍇𑌤𑌂

Meaning
𑌮𑌨𑍋𑌜𑍍𑌞- - the enchanting; 𑌨𑍈𑌶𑍍𑌰𑍇𑌯𑌸-𑌕𑌾𑌨𑌨-𑌆𑌦𑍍𑌯𑍈𑌃 - - Naishreyasha Kaanana (the garden by that name) and other; 𑌅𑌨𑍇𑌕-𑌵𑌾𑌪𑍀 - with many lakes; 𑌮𑌣𑌿𑌮𑌂𑌦𑌿𑌰𑍈𑌃 - 𑌚 - and gems studded mansions; 𑌅𑌨𑍋𑌪𑌮𑌂 𑌤𑌂 - that incomparable; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑌃 𑌨𑌿𑌕𑍇𑌤𑌂 - Thy abode; 𑌮𑍁𑌨𑍀𑌶𑍍𑌵𑌰𑌾𑌃 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌪𑍁𑌃 - - the sages reached; 𑌅𑌤𑍀𑌤-𑌕𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌃 - having crossed the (six) ramparts;

Translation
Crossing the six ramparts, the sages reached Thy unmatched abode with the Naishreyasha garden, many lakes and many mansions studded with gems.

Meaning
𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌦𑌿𑌦𑍍𑌦𑍃𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍂𑌨𑍍- - desirous of seeing Thee; 𑌭𑌵𑌨𑌂 𑌵𑌿𑌵𑌿𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍂𑌨𑍍 - and about to enter (Thy) abode; 𑌦𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌃𑌸𑍍𑌥𑍌 - two gatekeepers; 𑌜𑌯𑌃 - 𑌤𑌾𑌨𑍍 - Jaya, them (the sages); 𑌵𑌿𑌜𑌯𑌃 -𑌅𑌪𑌿-𑌅𑌰𑍁𑌂𑌧𑌾𑌮𑍍 - also Vijaya, stopped; 𑌤𑍇𑌷𑌾𑌂 𑌚 𑌚𑌿𑌤𑍍𑌤𑍇 - and in their (sages') minds; 𑌪𑌦𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌪 𑌕𑍋𑌪𑌃 - entered anger; 𑌸𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌂 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑍇𑌰𑌣𑌯𑌾-𑌏𑌵 - all this by Thy prompting alone; 𑌭𑍂𑌮𑌨𑍍 - O Infinite One!;

Translation
The sages were about to enter Thy abode to see Thee, when two gatekeepers, Jaya and Vijaya stopped them. This made the sages angry. All this happened by Thy prompting only.

Meaning
𑌵𑍈𑌕𑍁𑌂𑌠𑌲𑍋𑌕-𑌅𑌨𑍁𑌚𑌿𑌤-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌚𑍇𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍌 - for Vaikunthloka, is not fit, whose conduct; 𑌕𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍌 𑌯𑍁𑌵𑌾𑌂 - wicked ones you two; 𑌦𑍈𑌤𑍍𑌯-𑌗𑌤𑌿𑌂 𑌭𑌜𑍇𑌤𑌮𑍍 - state of Asuraas will attain; 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌶𑌪𑍍𑌤𑍌 - thus cursed; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌆𑌶𑍍𑌰𑌯𑍌 𑌤𑍌 - Thy servants they; 𑌹𑌰𑌿𑌃 -𑌸𑍍𑌮𑍃𑌤𑌿𑌃 -𑌨𑌃 -𑌅𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍁- - may we remember Hari (God); 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌨𑍇𑌮𑌤𑍁𑌃-𑌤𑌾𑌨𑍍 - thus beseeching prostrated before them;

Translation
The two gatekeepers were cursed by the sages that as their conduct was not befitting for them to be in Vaikunthloka, they may be embodied as Asuraas. Jaya and Vijaya, Thy servants, beseeched the sages that their devotion to Thee may not falter. So saying, they prostrated to the sages.

Meaning
𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌏𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌆𑌜𑍍𑌞𑌾𑌯 - that this knowing; 𑌭𑌵𑌾𑌨𑍍-𑌅𑌵𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌤𑌃 - Thou coming (out); 𑌸𑌹-𑌏𑌵 𑌲𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍍𑌮𑍍𑌯𑌾 - along with Laxmi; 𑌬𑌹𑌿𑌃 -𑌅𑌂𑌬𑍁𑌜𑌾𑌕𑍍𑌷 - out, O Lotus eyed Lord!; 𑌖𑌗𑍇𑌶𑍍𑌵𑌰-𑌅𑌂𑌸- - on Garuda's shoulder; 𑌅𑌰𑍍𑌪𑌿𑌤-𑌚𑌾𑌰𑍁-𑌬𑌾𑌹𑍁𑌃 - - placing Thy charming arm; 𑌆𑌨𑌂𑌦𑌯𑌨𑍍-𑌤𑌾𑌨𑍍- - delighting them (the sages); 𑌅𑌭𑌿𑌰𑌾𑌮-𑌮𑍂𑌰𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌾 - by Thy beautiful form;

Translation
O Lotus-eyed Lord! Knowing all what had happened, Thou came out along with Laxmi, with Thy charming arm resting on Garuda. The sages were delighted to see Thy beautiful form.

Meaning
𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌸𑌾𑌦𑍍𑌯 𑌗𑍀𑌰𑍍𑌭𑌿𑌃 - with pleasing words; 𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍁𑌵𑌤𑌃 𑌮𑍁𑌨𑍀𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌨𑍍- - to the sages as they were praising Thee,; 𑌅𑌨𑌨𑍍𑌯-𑌨𑌾𑌥𑍌- - who did not have any other refuge (other than Thee); 𑌅𑌥 𑌪𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌷𑌦𑍌 𑌤𑍌 - to those two attendants; 𑌸𑌂𑌰𑌂𑌭𑌯𑍋𑌗𑍇𑌨 𑌭𑌵𑍈𑌃-𑌤𑍍𑌰𑌿𑌭𑌿𑌃- - by the path of confrontation, in three lives; 𑌮𑌾𑌮𑍍-𑌉𑌪𑍇𑌤𑌮𑍍- - attain me; 𑌇𑌤𑌿-𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌤-𑌕𑍃𑌪𑌮𑍍 - thus overcome by compassion; 𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌗𑌾𑌦𑍀𑌃 - Thou said;

Translation
As the sages were praising Thee with pleasing words, Thou told the two attendants, who had no refuge but Thee, to confront three lives as Asuras on earth. Overcome by compassion, then Thou granted them Thy attainment.

𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌦𑍀𑌯-𑌭𑍃𑌤𑍍𑌯𑍌- - Thy two attendants; 𑌅𑌥 𑌕𑌾𑌶𑍍𑌯𑌪𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌤𑍌 - then from sage Kashyapa, they both; 𑌸𑍁𑌰𑌾𑌰𑌿-𑌵𑍀𑌰𑍌- - as the gods' powerful enemies; 𑌉𑌦𑌿𑌤𑍌 𑌦𑌿𑌤𑍌 𑌦𑍍𑌵𑍌 - were born of Diti the two; 𑌸𑌂𑌧𑍍𑌯𑌾-𑌸𑌮𑍁𑌤𑍍𑌪𑌾𑌦𑌨- - being begotten at evening; 𑌕𑌷𑍍𑌟-𑌚𑍇𑌷𑍍𑌟𑍌 - having cruel nature; 𑌯𑌮𑍌 𑌚 - and the twins (became); 𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌸𑍍𑌯 𑌯𑌮𑍌-𑌇𑌵-𑌅𑌨𑍍𑌯𑍌 - for the worlds, like other two Yamas (the death god);

Translation
Thereafter,Thy two attendants took birth as great Asuras through Diti and her husband sage Kashyapa. They being begotten in the evening twilight, the twins became cruel in nature as if they were the gods of death for the world.

𑌹𑌿𑌰𑌣𑍍𑌯-𑌪𑍂𑌰𑍍𑌵𑌃 𑌕𑌶𑌿𑌪𑍁𑌃 𑌕𑌿𑌲-𑌏𑌕𑌃 - (the name) Hiranya preceding Kashipu, i.e. Hiranyakashipu was one; 𑌪𑌰𑌃 𑌹𑌿𑌰𑌣𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌕𑍍𑌷 𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌤𑍀𑌤𑌃 - the other Hiranyaaksha thus was known; 𑌉𑌭𑍌 - both; 𑌭𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌨𑌾𑌥𑌮𑍍-𑌅𑌶𑍇𑌷-𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌂 - the whole world which has Thee as the master; 𑌰𑍁𑌷𑌾 - in anger; 𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌰𑍁𑌂𑌧𑌾𑌂 - (they) tormented; 𑌨𑌿𑌜-𑌵𑌾𑌸𑌨𑌾-𑌅𑌂𑌧𑍌 - by their own vaasanaas being blinded;

Translation
One son was known by the name of Hiranyakashipu and the other was known as Hiranyaaksha.They tormented the whole world, which has Thee as the master, in anger and blinded by their inherent evil tendencies.

Translation
Of the two of them, Hiranyaaksha, the great Asura, seeking a fight and not getting an opponent, immersed Thy dear earth into the water. He then roamed about roaring arrogantly, carrying a mace.

Translation
Then coming to know from the god of the waters, Varuna, that Thou are the only match for him, Hiranyaaksha roamed about searching for Thee. O Thou, who can be attained only by Thy devotees, Thou the abode of Compassion, kindly eradicate my ailments, O Lord of Guruvaayur!.
