Meaning
𑌶𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌧𑌾𑌃 𑌨𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌕𑌾𑌮-𑌧𑌰𑍍𑌮𑍈𑌃 - purified minded people, by their desireless actions; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌵𑌰-𑌗𑍁𑌰𑍁-𑌗𑌿𑌰𑌾 - by competent teacher's instructions; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌰𑍂𑌪𑌂 𑌪𑌰𑌂 𑌤𑍇 - that aspect supreme of Thine; 𑌶𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌧𑌂 𑌦𑍇𑌹-𑌇𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌿𑌯-𑌆𑌦𑌿- - immaculate, from body sense etc.,; 𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌪𑌗𑌤𑌮𑍍- - transcending; 𑌅𑌖𑌿𑌲-𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌤𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌵𑍇𑌦𑌯𑌂𑌤𑍇 - and all pervading , come to understand; 𑌨𑌾𑌨𑌾𑌤𑍍𑌵-𑌸𑍍𑌥𑍌𑌲𑍍𑌯-𑌕𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌶𑍍𑌯-𑌆𑌦𑌿 - multiplicity, big thin etc.,; 𑌤𑍁 𑌗𑍁𑌣𑌜-𑌵𑌪𑍁𑌃-𑌸𑌂𑌗𑌤𑌃- - indeed are the Gunas in which the bodies are associated; 𑌅𑌧𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌸𑌿𑌤𑌂 𑌤𑍇 - are super imposed on Thee; 𑌵𑌹𑍍𑌨𑍇𑌃-𑌦𑌾𑌰𑍁-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌭𑍇𑌦𑍇𑌷𑍁-𑌇𑌵 - in fire, due to the wood of different form, just as,; 𑌮𑌹𑌤𑍍-𑌅𑌣𑍁𑌤𑌾-𑌦𑍀𑌪𑍍𑌤𑌤𑌾- - bigness, smallness brightness; 𑌶𑌾𑌂𑌤𑌤𑌾-𑌆𑌦𑌿 - dimness etc.,;

Translation
People, whose minds are purified by performing desireless actions, come to understand from the instructions of competent teachers, Thy supreme aspect which is immaculate, bodiless, taintless, all pervading and transcendent. As for the qualities of multiplicity, stoutness, thinness etc., which are in association with the bodies constituted of the three gunas, are super imposed on Thee. It is like the expensiveness, small ness, dimness and brilliance of fire according to the nature of the fuel (wood) on which it manifests.

𑌆𑌚𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌖𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌧𑌰𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌾𑌰𑌣𑌿𑌸𑌮𑌨𑍁𑌮𑌿𑌲𑌚𑍍𑌛𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌯𑌰𑍂𑌪𑍋𑌤𑍍𑌤𑌰𑌾𑌰-

Meaning
𑌆𑌚𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌯-𑌆𑌖𑍍𑌯- - teacher's teachings; 𑌅𑌧𑌰𑌸𑍍𑌥-𑌅𑌰𑌣𑌿- - are the lower fire stick; 𑌸𑌮𑌨𑍁𑌮𑌿𑌲𑌤𑍍-𑌶𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌯-𑌰𑍂𑌪- - coming in a disciple form; 𑌉𑌤𑍍𑌤𑌰-𑌅𑌰𑌣𑌿- - is the upper fire stick; 𑌆𑌵𑍇𑌧𑌃-𑌉𑌦𑍍𑌭𑌾𑌸𑌿𑌤𑍇𑌨 - striking (which) is lit (glows); 𑌸𑍍𑌫𑍁𑌟𑌤𑌰-𑌪𑌰𑌿𑌬𑍋𑌧- - perfectly clear knowledge; 𑌅𑌗𑍍𑌨𑌿𑌨𑌾 𑌦𑌹𑍍𑌯𑌮𑌾𑌨𑍇 - fire, by which is burnt; 𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌮𑌾𑌲𑍀-𑌵𑌾𑌸𑌨𑌾- - the many action's desires (tendencies); 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌕𑍃𑌤-𑌤𑌨𑍁- - by which is generated, with the; 𑌭𑍁𑌵𑌨-𑌭𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌂𑌤𑌿- - body identification misconception; 𑌕𑌾𑌂𑌤𑌾𑌰-𑌪𑍂𑌰𑍇 - such a forest full (is burnt); 𑌦𑌾𑌹𑍍𑌯-𑌅𑌭𑌾𑌵𑍇𑌨 - then with a lack of burning material; 𑌵𑌿𑌦𑍍𑌯𑌾-𑌶𑌿𑌖𑌿𑌨𑌿 𑌚 𑌵𑌿𑌰𑌤𑍇 - when the knowledge generated fire also subsides; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌮𑌯𑍀 𑌖𑌲𑍁-𑌅𑌵𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌾 - in Thee the total merger state alone (is there);

Translation
The fire of knowledge is ignited by the striking of two fire sticks, the lower one represents the teachings of the teacher, and the upper one the disciple (who comes seeking the knowledge). This fire illuminates perfectly clear knowledge and burns the forest full of many tendencies and desires which are an effect of past actions, and also the ignorance of identification with the body and the world. When such a forest is burnt up, the fire (of knowledge) for want of fuel also subsides (in Thee). Then the state of total merger in Thee alone remains.

𑌮𑌤𑍍𑌤𑌾𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌂 𑌵𑌿𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌰𑌂𑌤𑌃 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌸𑌜𑌤𑌿 𑌪𑌤𑌨𑍇 𑌯𑌾𑌂𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌨𑌂𑌤𑌾𑌨𑍍 𑌵𑌿𑌷𑌾𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍍॥3॥

Meaning
𑌏𑌵𑌂 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌤𑌃-𑌅𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌃 - thus Thy attainment, besides it (other than it); 𑌨-𑌹𑌿 𑌖𑌲𑍁 - most certainly not; 𑌨𑌿𑌖𑌿𑌲-𑌕𑍍𑌲𑍇𑌶-𑌹𑌾𑌨𑍇𑌃-𑌉𑌪𑌾𑌯𑌃 - all sufferings' eradicating means; 𑌨-𑌏𑌕𑌾𑌂𑌤-𑌅𑌤𑍍𑌯𑌂𑌤𑌿𑌕𑌾𑌃-𑌤𑍇 - nor complete removing or recurrence are they (capable of); 𑌕𑍃𑌷𑌿-𑌵𑌤𑍍- - like cultivation (or like); 𑌅𑌗𑌦-𑌷𑌾𑌡𑍍𑌗𑍁𑌣𑍍𑌯- - medicines, the six gunas,; 𑌷𑌡𑍍𑌕𑌰𑍍𑌮-𑌯𑍋𑌗𑌾𑌃 - the six actions of Yoga; 𑌦𑍁𑌰𑍍𑌵𑍈𑌕𑌲𑍍𑌯𑍈𑌃-𑌅𑌕𑌲𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌃 - with difficulties (which are) difficult to overcome, (impractical); 𑌅𑌪𑌿 𑌨𑌿𑌗𑌮-𑌪𑌥𑌾𑌃- - also are the Vedic paths; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌫𑌲𑌾𑌨𑌿-𑌅𑌪𑌿-𑌅𑌵𑌾𑌪𑍍𑌤𑌾 - their results even if achieved; 𑌮𑌤𑍍𑌤𑌾𑌃-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌾𑌂 𑌵𑌿𑌸𑍍𑌮𑌰𑌂𑌤𑌃 - (becoming) arrogant, Thee, they forget; 𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌸𑌜𑌤𑌿 𑌪𑌤𑌨𑍇 - proceeding into downfall; 𑌯𑌾𑌂𑌤𑌿-𑌅𑌨𑌂𑌤𑌾𑌨𑍍 𑌵𑌿𑌷𑌾𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍍 - undergo endless sufferings;

Translation
Other than the attainment of Thee, certainly, the other means of eradicating sufferings, which are resorted to, like cultivation, medicine, the six gunas, the six steps of Yoga etc., are ultimately ineffective in completely removing or the recurrence of all sufferings. The Vedic paths are difficult to pursue with their many inherent difficulties. Even if they are somehow pursued and their results obtained, by some, they in arrogance forget Thee, (who are the ultimate aim) and are led into downfall and undergo endless sufferings.

𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌾𑌤𑍍-𑌅𑌨𑍍𑌯-𑌲𑍋𑌕𑌃 - Thy loka (world) (Vaikuntha), other worlds; 𑌕𑍍𑌵-𑌨𑍁 𑌭𑌯-𑌰𑌹𑌿𑌤𑌃 - where indeed is (which is) fearless; 𑌯𑌤𑍍 𑌪𑌰𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌧-𑌦𑍍𑌵𑌯-𑌅𑌂𑌤𑍇 - because at the end of two Paraardhaas; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌭𑍀𑌤𑌃- - from Thee (as Time) is afraid; 𑌸𑌤𑍍𑌯-𑌲𑍋𑌕𑍇-𑌅𑌪𑌿 - in the Satyaloka also; 𑌨 𑌸𑍁𑌖-𑌵𑌸𑌤𑌿𑌃 𑌪𑌦𑍍𑌮𑌭𑍂𑌃 - not in peace lives Brahmaa; 𑌪𑌦𑍍𑌮𑌨𑌾𑌭 - O Padmanaabha!; 𑌏𑌵𑌂 𑌭𑌾𑌵𑍇-𑌤𑍁- - that being so; 𑌅𑌧𑌰𑍍𑌮-𑌅𑌰𑍍𑌜𑌿𑌤-𑌬𑌹𑍁-𑌤𑌮𑌸𑌾𑌂 - by unrighteousness earned many sins; 𑌕𑌾 𑌕𑌥𑌾 𑌨𑌾𑌰𑌕𑌾𑌣𑌾𑌮𑍍 - what to say of human beings; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌮𑍇 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌂 - therefore mine, O Thou!; 𑌛𑌿𑌂𑌧𑌿 𑌬𑌂𑌧𑌂 - cut off bondage; 𑌵𑌰𑌦𑍍 𑌕𑍃𑌪𑌣𑌬𑌂𑌧𑍋 - O Bestower of Boons! Translation
O Lotus Naval One! Where is there another fearless world other than Thy world the Vaikunthaloka? Residing in Satyaloka also, at the end of two Paraardhaas, Brahmaa is afraid of Thee (as Time) and does not live in peace. That being so, what to say of human beings who keep accumulating sins by unrighteous means! O Bestower of Boons! O friend of the Lowly! O Ocean full of mercy! therefore, do cut off my bondage.

𑌯𑌾𑌥𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌥𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌤𑍍- - in reality; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌮𑌯𑌸𑍍𑌯-𑌏𑌵 - of Thy selfness only; 𑌹𑌿 𑌮𑌮 𑌨 𑌵𑌿𑌭𑍋 - certainly , my is not O Lord!; 𑌵𑌸𑍍𑌤𑍁𑌤𑌃 𑌬𑌂𑌧 𑌮𑍋𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍌 - in fact bondage or liberation; 𑌮𑌾𑌯𑌾-𑌵𑌿𑌦𑍍𑌯𑌾-𑌤𑌨𑍁𑌭𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌂 - (by Thy) Maayaa and knowledge aspects; 𑌤𑌵 𑌤𑍁 𑌵𑌿𑌰𑌚𑌿𑌤𑍌 - of Thine indeed are manifested; 𑌸𑍍𑌵𑌪𑍍𑌨-𑌬𑍋𑌧-𑌉𑌪𑌮𑍌 𑌤𑍌 - dream and awakening, like those two; 𑌬𑌦𑍍𑌧𑍇 𑌜𑍀𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌵𑌿𑌮𑍁𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌂 - in a bonded and liberated, while living; 𑌗𑌤𑌵𑌤𑌿 𑌚 𑌭𑌿𑌦𑌾 - is achieved, the difference is; 𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌤𑍀 𑌤𑌾𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌏𑌕𑍋 - this much, that, one; 𑌭𑍁𑌂𑌕𑍍𑌤𑍇 𑌦𑍇𑌹-𑌦𑍍𑌰𑍁𑌮-𑌸𑍍𑌥𑌃 - eats, on a body tree perched; 𑌵𑌿𑌷𑌯-𑌫𑌲-𑌰𑌸𑌾𑌤𑍍 - sense experience fruits; 𑌨-𑌅𑌪𑌰𑌃 𑌨𑌿𑌰𑍍𑌵𑍍𑌯𑌥-𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌾 - not the other one, (and so), is a non suffering soul;

Translation
O Lord! In reality, for me, who is merged in Thyselfness only, there is no bondage or liberation. Thy two aspects of Maayaa and knowledge manifest, indeed, like dreaming and awakening. The difference between the two, the bonded and the one who has achieved liberation while living, is that, the former, perched on the tree of the body has to eat the fruits of the sense experiences, while the latter does not have to do so and so is a non suffering soul.

𑌜𑍀𑌵𑌨𑍍-𑌮𑍁𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍- - while living, liberation; 𑌏𑌵𑌂-𑌵𑌿𑌧𑌮𑍍-𑌇𑌤𑌿 𑌵𑌚𑌸𑌾 - like this, such words; 𑌕𑌿𑌂 𑌫𑌲𑌂 𑌦𑍂𑌰 𑌦𑍂𑌰𑍇 - what is the use, far fetched; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌨𑌾𑌮-𑌅𑌶𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌧-𑌬𑍁𑌦𑍍𑌧𑍇𑌃- - that concept (is) to an impure mind; 𑌨 𑌚 𑌲𑌘𑍁 𑌮𑌨𑌸𑌃-𑌶𑍋𑌧𑌨𑌂 - and there is not a bit of mind purification; 𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌤𑌃-𑌅𑌨𑍍𑌯𑌤𑍍 - other than devotion; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌮𑍇 𑌵𑌿𑌷𑍍𑌣𑍋 𑌕𑍃𑌷𑍀𑌷𑍍𑌠𑌾𑌃- - that (devotion) for me, O Vishnu! Bring about; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌯𑌿 𑌕𑍃𑌤-𑌸𑌕𑌲-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌰𑍍𑌪𑌣𑌂 - in Thee all surrendering; 𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌭𑌾𑌰𑌮𑍍 - devotion intense (may be); 𑌯𑍇𑌨 𑌸𑍍𑌯𑌾𑌂 𑌮𑌂𑌕𑍍𑌷𑍁 - by which I may soon; 𑌕𑌿𑌂𑌚𑌿𑌤𑍍 𑌗𑍁𑌰𑍁-𑌵𑌚𑌨-𑌮𑌿𑌲𑌤𑍍- - along with some instructions from the Guru; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌬𑍋𑌧𑌃-𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌆𑌤𑍍𑌮𑌾 - Thy realisations and Thy oneness (may achieve).;

Translation
Of what use are the words about the state of liberation in the embodied soul? This concept is far fetched for the impure minded. There is no way other than devotion for the mind to be even a bit purified. O Lord Vishnu! Do bring about that for me which by intense devotion, with surrendering of all fruits of action to Thee, and with Thy realisation by the teachings from a Guru, I may achieve oneness with Thee.

In this world there are people who are totally engrossed in the study of Vedas and other scriptures and do not care to know Thee. It is a futile effort on their part just as owning a cow which has not calved. I will not study the scriptures wherein Thy form saturated with Pure Consciousness, and the world enchanting, all purifying and sportive incarnations are not spoken of.

Translation
O Lord of the Universe! Thou are this, that or of that kind or of that sort, I do not at all understand any of this whatsoever. In spite of my little understanding, O Enemy of Chaidya (Shishupaal)! Thy worship alone I will always dutifully perform. May it thus happen to me that I get to see Thy images and touch the feet of the groups of people who are lovingly attached to Thy feet. May I also worship Thee, sing Thy hymns, prostate to Thee, and lovingly recite Thy excellences and deeds.

May my love melting heart, through devotion continuously flow into a torrential stream towards Thee.

𑌐𑌕𑍍𑌯𑌂 𑌤𑍇 - union with Thee; 𑌦𑌾𑌨-𑌹𑍋𑌮-𑌵𑍍𑌰𑌤-𑌨𑌿𑌯𑌮-𑌤𑌪𑌃- - charity, sacrifice, vows, discipline, austerities; 𑌸𑌾𑌂𑌖𑍍𑌯-𑌯𑍋𑌗𑍈𑌃-𑌦𑍁𑌰𑌾𑌪𑌂 - and by methods of Saankhya Yoga, is difficult to get; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌸𑌂𑌗𑍇𑌨-𑌏𑌵 - (by) to Thee attachment only; 𑌗𑍋𑌪𑍍𑌯𑌃 𑌕𑌿𑌲 - the Gopikas indeed; 𑌸𑍁𑌕𑍃𑌤𑌿𑌤𑌮𑌾𑌃-𑌪𑍍𑌰𑌾𑌪𑍁𑌃- - the most meritorious ones, obtained; 𑌆𑌨𑌂𑌦-𑌸𑌾𑌂𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌮𑍍 - bliss intense; 𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑍇𑌷𑍁-𑌅𑌨𑍍𑌯𑍇𑌷𑍁 - the devotees, among others; 𑌭𑍂𑌯𑌃𑌸𑍁-𑌅𑌪𑌿 - many they may be, even then; 𑌬𑌹𑍁-𑌮𑌨𑍁𑌷𑍇 𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌮𑍍-𑌏𑌵 - highly esteemed devotion alone; 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌮𑍍-𑌆𑌸𑌾𑌂 - Thou, of these (Gopikaas) consider; 𑌤𑌤𑍍-𑌮𑍇 𑌤𑍍𑌵𑌤𑍍-𑌭𑌕𑍍𑌤𑌿𑌮𑍍-𑌏𑌵 - that, to me, Thy devotion only; 𑌦𑍍𑌰𑌢𑌯 𑌹𑌰 𑌗𑌦𑌾𑌨𑍍 - strengthen, remove my sufferings; 𑌕𑍃𑌷𑍍𑌣 𑌵𑌾𑌤𑌾𑌲𑌯𑍇𑌶 - O Krishna! O Lord of Guruvaayur!;

Translation
The state of supreme blissful union with Thee is difficult to be attained by charity, sacrifice, vows, disciplines, austerities or by following the methods of Saankhya Yoga. The most meritorious Gopikaas attained intense bliss only by attachment to Thee. There are many devotees of Thine, but the loving devotion of the Gopikaas, to Thee, is highly esteemed by Thee. May that devotion strengthen in me. O Lord Krishna! O Lord of Guruvaayur! remove my sufferings.
